"For those looking for a break from the traditional, Ikanos chef Constant Mentzas takes the cuisine’s cornerstone of seafood and adds creative elements like rhubarb ponzu, rose hip emulsions, and the occasional slice of foie gras. But the restaurant doesn’t forget its roots: The menu also features standards like mezze, , and fish, both fresh and aged, cooked off on a charcoal-fired Josper grill." - JP Karwacki

"The Valentine’s tasting menu from Constant Mentzas’ Old Montreal Greek restaurant runs over the weekend too — but there’s space on the 14th for his modern takes on Greek food, with plenty of seafood." - Tim Forster

We loved this place! We went around noon and restaurant was empty. The service was good and fast. We tried a bit of everything and everything was so good. The grilled octopus was the best dish from presentation to taste. We also loved three sauces (cheese), potatoes, mashed potatoes and fried zucchini. The fish was very well prepared and light. As a seafood lover I enjoyed dining here. It reminds me of Europe, of sea and summer. I wish it wasn't that expensive but highly recommended for seafood. We will go back!

I haven't had such an amazing dinning experience in a long time. We were 4 people and ordered the 96$ sharing plate for two of us & the MTL à table menu for the other two. EVERYTHING was delicious, well seasoned & perfectly portions. I cannot stress enough on how good the food was. Everything from the hummus, the bread, to the fish, pasta and seafood was perfect. Our waiter was also extremely polite and nice. The service was amazing. He was very knowledgeable of the menu which is always appreciated. I loved the atmosphere which is very peaceful and intimate (perfect for dates). The bill was about 170$ per person. With drinks. Every penny was worth it. Can't wait to go back.

Wonderful seafood options, guaranteed delicious meal. Went with their tasting experience which was 3 shared courses between two of us, plus a shared dessert. All meal items were delicious, with the dessert slightly underwhelming in comparison to the rest. It's an expensive restaurant, the tasting experience being 96 dollars a head, and one might question the cost when evaluating the simplicity of what's on the table in front of them. An entire sea bass and a pound of octopus and squid probably adds up. Either way expect to spend around $70-$100 for an average a la carte order. That being said, portion sizes are good and flavours are wonderful. I left overly full and satisfied. I do recommend the tasting experience if you can fork out 96 dollars. To note: the fish plate did not come presented like that, it was an entire sea bass on a shared platter which was portioned out onto our plates by our server. Best fish I've had all year easily. On the side was charred/grilled leeks, which were very good also.

Had a great evening here to celebrate a project completion. Staff were friendly and provided us the attention despite the larger group. After a bit of a wait, the food came. The squid, calamari and lobster were a hit! I also enjoyed the appetizers with the delicious dips. I thought the fish, believe it was sea bass, was ok and a bit on the overcooked side. But overall good experience.

Beautiful decor, great service. Presentation of each plate was appetizing. The waiter took the time to explain each course. Slightly pricey however worth the experience. Initially seemed small in terms of portions but appetite was satisfied rather rapidly. Overall ambiance was warm and welcoming and food was delicious. Definitely recommend!

Not the first time at Ikanos, and the experience is still great. Service staff is excellent, and ambiance is very nice. Also not too uptight and nicely casual. The star here for me is the seafood platter. That plus a side and a starter is probably the best value. There is a 22oz steak to share that I haven't tried yet which could be great, but I feel like having steak at Ikanos is betraying the main reason to go there. A surf n turf is probably a really good idea though! The fish is also good. $71 for Seabass can be a bit off putting, but if it's indeed a fresh import, cooked in the wood oven, served full at the table deboned, I can see how you get to that price. Oyster black garlic mushrooms were good, but you can skip it. It's nice in moderation but don't need that big of a plate of it. It would be much nicer to have 2 smaller sides than a big side of that. Else, the Greek salad looked nice. Ikanos does (or did pre-covid) have very nice value for lunch though, so you could try that too. That is all! Congrats on reopening successfully!

Waiters were classy and informative. They serve different kinds of oysters and both were delicious and high-quality. Steak was very flavourful and scrumptious. Had an amazing fine-dining experience there!

Hands down the best service I've ever received in Montreal. Warm moist towelettes given between each service, every dish meticulously explain, I can't even begin to describe the taste, you'll have to try it for yourselves, every bite brought me to a different place, an absolute sensory overload. They have an inexpensive lunch menu and a mesmerizing tasting menu. If I died and went to heaven, this is what the dining experience would feel like it. This restaurant deserves a Michelin star. This is where I send friends and family when the ask for a dining recommendation.
