The Best Montreal Restaurants for Your Wedding | Eater Montreal

"Even with its move off-island to Brossard, this top-tier name for dim sum and beyond in Montreal hasn’t broken its stride with events, and that includes weddings with as many as a whopping 600 people. Don’t think eating here means being locked into dim sum, either; Imperial says they can cater with both “specialized Asian-themed wedding banquets … to Western fusion mains.”" - JP Karwacki

Where to Get a Lunar New Year Feast in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"They may have moved from Chinatown to Brossard, but the folks at Imperial are still committed to preserving Cantonese Lunar New Year traditions. This year they’re making rice, taro, and radish cake and have just rebooted their Hong Kong-style barbecue operation. Imperial’s version of the classic poon choi big pot is loaded with abalone, shrimp, shrimp balls, fish maw, soy sauce chicken, char siu, roast duck, roast pork, lotus root, turnip, tofu, shiitake, and broccoli; it’s enough to feed four to six. There’s free delivery depending on the destination. Pre-order is essential." - Ivy Lerner-Frank

Chinatown Dim Sum Specialist Impérial is Relocating to Brossard | Eater Montreal

"Slated to open at 8245 Taschereau Boulevard in Brossard in September, the new Impérial location — whose signage already graces the Taschereau Boulevard strip mall — was originally intended as a second location but is now likely to become the restaurant’s South Shore home. I note that an “incredibly slow” renovation process has made pinning down an exact debut date difficult; the owners initially planned to move their entire Chinatown staff to the South Shore venture, though that may change since the original location can remain open longer. The new space is described as slightly smaller but “definitely prettier” and a “nicer venue for weddings and parties,” and it will join other Chinese restaurants in Brossard such as La Maison Kam Fung, Papa Jackie, and Maison Sai Yen." - Valerie Silva

The Best Dim Sum Restaurants in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Perched high atop the Swatow building on lower St-Laurent, Imperial serves dim sum with a view right across to Montreal’s beautiful City Hall — that’s if you can take your eyes off the kindly ladies purveying the metal carts laden with Imperial’s signature square dim sum steamers. It’s worth the wait for Imperial’s deep-fried squid and the har gow steamed shrimp dumplings: the thin, translucent rice flour wrappings are always the measure of a well-made morsel. Imperial’s lotus leaf with sticky rice (lo mai gai), snug parcels with tiny bits of meat and vegetables nestled inside, are another item to seek out. A range of quality teas is also available here; ask for Tie Guan Yin black tea as a complement to the small plates." - Ivy Lerner-Frank

Authentic Chinese food. Try the lobster with green onion, Cantonese fried egg noodles and eggplant in hot pot. Friendly service and reservation recommended.

Shrimp rice rolls are my favorite dish! The service here is polite and professional. The food is fresh, tasty, and way better than many dim sum restaurants in Montreal. The menu offers a good variety, and the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. Come early to get a table.

Went in for dim sum on a Sunday. It's not traditional dim sum with carts. You order items via webpage/qr code on menu. Service is almost nonexistent, had a hard time waving someone down to end meal and get some takeout boxes. Pay up at the counter after. Overall felt the dim sum dishes tasted pretty good. Many of the expected dishes. The chicken feet were huge.

Something new! Had my cousins 100th day party here. The service was fast for our party of 50. I got to try new things. The menu was a bit different due to the size of our party so I wasn’t expecting some of the dishes that we received. Nevertheless it was pretty good! I loved the lobster and a little less the chicken ahaha.

We have not had dim sum for a while and so glad that we found this place in Brossard. The restaurant opens right at 10 a.m., tucked away in a plaza off a busy area. Parking may be challenging if you get there later in the morning. We were there a few minutes before opening and when we entered the restaurant, we were seated immediately. The nice thing about the ordering system is, they have the menu on a QR code scan, and you can add additional items to the order, at any time. Once, and order is placed, the items come out fairly quickly, piping hot. We thoroughly enjoyed the many items we ordered ranging from char siu bao, shiu mai, har gow, chicken feet (my favorite!), soy bean sheet roll, sushi roll, fried taro dumplings, radish cake, and steamed rice roll with crispy shrimp. We will definitely be back to try more of their items on the menu. Prices are also reasonable and they are very attentive to refill our tea. Love this place!

We went for dim sum on a Thursday afternoon, arriving around 12:30pm. We were seated very quickly, as we were only 2 people. The restaurant was already pretty packed! Overall, the food was very good, a little disappointing to receive certain dishes, such as rice paper rolls with shrimp, peanut butter dumplings, har gow, etc. dishes that were room temp or pretty cold. Many dishes we got, such as char siu bao, beef tripe, pork and veggies wrapped in curd, were very hot and delicious! The rice paper rolls with shrimp was very tasty despite being room temp, the rice paper was rather thick, which occasionally overpowered the taste of the shrimp, the shrimp was very plump and juicy! The wait time between the first dish and the second was the longest, being at around 10-15 mins wait, but once our second dish came, all the other dishes came within a 30 seconds interval. The har gow was good, it was brought to us at room temp, it would have been better if it were hot. We did ask for soy sauce and never received it. We also got Siu Mai, and that arrived at the same time as the har gow but it was much hotter than the har gow was. The beef tripe was smoking hot, very juicy, flavourful, and just the right amount of crunchy. There was a lot more than I was expecting! The pork and veggies wrapped in curd was piping hot, burning our tongues as we expected it to be just as cold or room temp as other things we received, but we were pleasantly surprised that it was hot and so flavourful that you don't need soy sauce for it! The peanut butter dumplings arrived last, and it was by far the coldest. Not even room temperature, just cold. We ended up having 1 bite each, then took it to go so that we can warm it up at home! The food was very filling, and they very quick at removing our plates whenever we finished with a dish!

One of best dim sum spots in Greater Montreal. We went right as they opened and the service was very fast. A bit disappointed that they don’t have the traditional dim sum experience with the servers pushing the cart with food but still worth it. Prices are fairly reasonable and everything was spot on.
