Restaurant Japonés Kenchan

I am from Hong Kong and I do have high standards for japanese food. This place is absolutely a gem with the japanese homey decorations, 80s/90s Jpop music, and of course the food. I can tell the beautiful details on each dish, including side dishes, all carefully made with love. Thank you Ken-chan and the friendly staff for keeping the space amazing. I came almost every another day to try their menu! It would be lovely if they have Tonkotsu ramen and roe. I love the broth of the ramen, and love that fact that there are lots of vegetables. All Teishoku I tried are Amazing, except Fuji one, the can tuna maki and avocado maki are weird. Gyoza, kimchi with pork and kroke are stunning sides!

Best Japanese restaurant in La Paz! Exactly the same taste as in Japan. I can’t help but leaving a review immediately. Besides, it’s super clean, even bathroom! That’s something must be mentioned.

Got my sushi craving‘s satisfied here. Portions are massive and very tasty. I‘d only order two different sushis next time because it was almost too much. Definetly recommended!

I went there or have dinner. Servers are tired and lack empathy. When we got to the place the table was unclean and we waiting. They brought something to clean it in 3 seconds and the table was still dirty. Afterwards nobody came to help. When you look around you see overworked service. In any case I would suggest you avoid it.

I can’t relate to all the positive feedback. We ordered sushi and gyoza, both not meeting our standards. We are foodies and have high expectations, but the food we got was missing taste and sushi was also pretty dry. You could tell that parts of the plate (ginger) were either reused or standing a long time drying out. Didn’t give a premium feeling. Overall, very pricy for the quality of food. (We had a fine dining experience with great food and quality for less money in La Paz). Also I find it a no-go and uncomfortable that street sellers can enter to go from table to table to sell their goods. The staff tried their very best, but you can tell they are way understaffed if waiters have to run from point a to b. Just sth to note if you look for a quiet and less hectic place, this wouldn’t be it.

Good price-quality. We were surprised by how close to authentic the taste was to Japan. We came here twice for the good food and the nice atmosphere.

The egg is so important for ramen and this was overcooked. Too heavy on the vegetables felt like I was eating a vegetable stew not a ramen.

A very popular Japanese restaurant in La Paz. The restaurant offers a wide range of Japanese food sets. We tried Raman and Pork Cutlet. Honestly, it’s not fully authentic Japanese style, but we did enjoy our food- the Chashu and fried pork were quite tasty. Lime juice was so so. Overall, it’s a good experience if you are craving for some Asian food!
