Restaurant Kale & de Bril

During our visit to Goes, my husband surprised me with dinner reservations to this restaurant. What an amazing surprise. The food is incredible. We started with an order of local oysters, best ones we’ve ever had. We proceeded to choose the lobster menu which consisted in one lobster per person but used throughout the three dishes. First was a lobster salad, then the tastiest lobster bisque and ended with half a lobster as a main dish. The effort in utilizing local and season products is incredible. Host was super helpful and friendly, both chefs came to the table to serve and explain dishes. They truly have something special going on and if you are ever in the neighborhood, you must stop and try their menu (which changes depending on the season). Highly recommended.

Was looking for an amazing place to eat and immediately this restaurant peaked my interests. Arriving there was a bit like: are we at the right place? As the front of the restaurant is not clearly visible from the curb. Once in we knew all would be fine. Lovely cosy restaurant. We went “all in” and opted for a seven course diner where we swapped the first course with some awesome lobster salad. Every course was well thought out and complemented each other nicely using local or area food where feasible. We also opted for the non alcoholic version of accompanied drinks for the courses. Great choice indeed. Thanks again to the team - we had a great time!

As they are a member of the Kreeft Kring, a foundation to promote local lobster, the Oosterschelde lobster menu is worth the try. It's prepared the traditional way. Honest and nothing fancy, but also not BG worthy. Amuse, salad and dessert tried to impress with unusual blends but were not successful unfortunately.

We spent a thoroughly wonderful evening at Kale & de Bril. Welcomed cordially by the friendly staff and the pleasant atmosphere, we enjoyed extraordinarily fine food, starting from the first amuse-gueules through each one of the five courses and including the extremely well-matching wines and non-alcoholic drinks. Marked by finely balanced flavors and textures, the menu was abounding with both creativity and excellent craftsmanship, joining at times surprising aromas with a certain light-hearted down-to-earth-ness. Had five course dinner with accompanied non alcoholic wines to go with each course. Food was amazing, and brought to the table by very knowledgeable staff, both the chefs appeared at the table also with a plate of food and explain what was served. Very cozy atmosphere too.

Both the menu and the service were excellent. We had the 7 course menu incl. corresponding wines. Most courses were regional cuisine, excl. the fantastic cheese collections, and every one was a highlight. Wines matched fine and pricing was more than OK for this level of cuisine.

Since my girlfriend knows the chef here from her internship in Bonaire, she really wanted to go here. I can honestly say that I have rarely had such a good experience at a fine dining restaurant. The staff was very friendly, the wine was amazing and the food was extraordinary. I rarely go to Zeeland, but from now on I will try to make this a regular trip just for this restaurant. Would definitely recommend!

It was a great dining experience with delicious food, attentive service, and a lovely atmosphere. I’d definitely go back and recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to eat.
