Kato has been one of our favorite spots since it first opened, and it never disappoints. Over the years, the restaurant has made significant improvements to its interior, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere that feels perfect for enjoying their exceptional cuisine.
This charming, small restaurant is run by a talented Japanese couple, and their dedication to quality and authenticity truly shines through in every dish.
The Food:
The food is simply amazing. Every dish we tried was a delight, but a few stood out as absolute favorites:
• Oysters: These are pure perfection. The blend of flavors with the yuzu, combined with the slightly crispy texture of the oyster (which is not fully cooked), creates a taste that feels like heaven.
• Aburi Toro Nigiri: The grilled tuna sushi is a must-try. The rich, buttery flavor of the toro paired with the perfect sear is unforgettable.
• Negi Toro Maki: Another favorite that never fails to impress.
• Ankimo (if available): If you’re lucky enough to find this on the menu, don’t miss it. It’s simply divine!
Kato offers a truly authentic and exceptional dining experience, making it one of the best sushi restaurants around. We’ll continue to come back and recommend it to anyone looking for high-quality Japanese food served with care and passion.
