I chose two dishes that I know very well as a Belgian.
The starter was steak tartare. The meat was of excellent quality, and the egg was just fine. But there was no seasoning whatsoever — not enough pepper or salt, no mustard, pickles, or capers. This was raw meat, but not a steak tartare.
The main course was a pepper steak. It was excellent, and so was the pepper sauce.
Dessert was a crunchy ice cream, possibly even with olive oil. A bit strange, but quite tasty.
They didn’t have espresso, so I got a French press instead. The coffee was as weak as tap water. Served in a teacup on a mismatched saucer. Honestly.
During the meal I asked for salt and pepper. I got them, but they were taken away again. Twice. Apparently they only have four sets. Unbelievable.
The walls and ceiling are painted black — not exactly pleasant. There’s only one toilet, and it’s in the dining room itself. Not okay. The whole place feels cramped and stuffy.
