Excellent dinner here on my last night in Helsinki. I had a 2-course meal from their new menu. Arctic char followed by peppercorn steak. Both were delicious. The service was also faultless. I found the staff welcoming and professional, and everything very well timed. Yes, it is pricey but that’s mainly due to the wine and less so the food. I did opt for a half-glass of wine to accompany the appetiser and a full glass of red with the steak. This is refined yet unfussy food in an intimate, unpretentious atmosphere. I’ve eaten well in Helsinki but this was my best meal and overall dining experience.

make sure to book a table, this place gets very crowded. service was lovely. for these jaw-dropping prices, i would expect more. the steak was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked, but the rest of the dish left a lot to be desired. i would've liked more than half of a barely seasoned potato...

Top notch experience from start to Finnish! Food and service were both fantastic, great value, and we would happily return. Stand outs from the menu (which changes regularly and showcases local ingredients were: The rustic homemade baguette!, Goats cheese tart, Beef tongue (special of the day) and the Potato skin with olive oil and peanut Swiss roll dessert. This last dish was very unique and really worked well.

This place is honestly incredible. Probably the best meal I had in Helsinki. Such an intentional menu complimented with genuine and kind service. It’s truly a gem from the minute you walk in. Thank you!

Absolutely perfect dinner. Super good food and one of the best experiences overall. My husband has some food restrictions, and sometimes it becomes a little awkward when eating out, but not here! They were super accommodating and seemed to be very happy to customize dishes for him. It was the best restaurant experience for him ever. Thank you so much! Needless to say the service is absolutely top class!

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. We had the steak tartare and pepper steak. Would totally come back! Fairly priced, the desserts smelled amazing but did not have the chance to taste them, maybe next time!

I had a lovely birthday dinner here few months ago. The staff were so nice and helpful. The food was good as always. The atmosphere was nice and comfortable. Highly recommend.

Small restaurant with a great buzz and very friendly crew. Outstanding food - Everything we had was delicious (including the table bread!). Generous portion and well priced. We only have positive things to say about this restaurant! Definitely a must visit restaurant when you are in Helsinki.

Cozy and delicious spot in Helsinki with a lovely warm atmosphere. There is a fairly limited menu and you can do a 3-course tasting, but it may be worth checking ahead if you're picky (but note it is veg-friendly). They have a nice variety of wines as well to go with your meal. Everyone seemed to enjoy everything immensely.

Wonderful cozy spot perfect for dinner with friends or a date night. You can choose from a set course menu of two or three courses. We weren't hungry so we choose the two courses. The menu changes every two weeks depending on what is fresh and available. While the food was excellent, what puts this restaurant at a five star level is the personalized service. It is a one man show in here - he is probably the owner, manager, and wait staff all in one. He came over to our table, had a small talk about our tastes, and suggested an excellent red wine to go with our meal. So far this is normal for most restaurants of this caliber. As we were finishing our meal, he came over and asked if we want dessert. I was hesitant and my husband was too full for dessert. However, Mr. All-in-one (I cannot remember his name) encouraged us to try the dessert and then brought us some dessert wine to try (on the house!). He explained to us how this particular wine pairs well with the dessert. The best part is that he genuinely wanted us to enjoy our meal and experience his wonderful hospitality. That alone puts this restaurant on the five star level. Service beyond excellence and the food is delicious! One of the highlights of our culinary tour of Helsinki.

The menu is very small, but absolutely amazing. We had the pepper steak and the char. They both had such great flavor. Very quant and intimate.

We had dinner here for my birthday and I really like the cozy and rustic feeling of the place. We had 3 course meal and my favorite is the oxtail tongue in apricot sauce. Ive had oxtail before but the way they cooked and prepared it was really exceptional. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful and she knows about which wines to pair with our food. I definitely recommend this place!

Kuurna is a small but charming restaurant on a rather quiet side street. The place may have room for some 20+ guests or so. In some ways it reminds of another Helsinki restaurant called Atalje Finne as the concept is to have a set price for either two or three courses (€33/€39 if my memory serves me) and the menu changes with the season. They do also have a few specials on the board every evening and these may incur an extra supplement. When I was there we had the reindeer salad as well as the spinach 'pancakes' as starters. The reindeer was great the spinach was a bit boring. For mains we went for the lamb and one of the specials the pepper steak. The meat was perfectly prepared and both these dishes were really great and the sides were well thought out for the dishes. The size of the dishes (both starters and mains) were fairly big so we did not really feel convinced we needed dessert especially since none of the desserts really stood out as something special. We did however eventually share the strawberry milkshake. It was in itself nothing special (would have made it better at home myself) but it came with a very nice oatmeal cookie. The food was in summary very good, we were however a bit disappointed at the lack of wine by the glass. Only 2 reds and 2 white on an otherwise fairly impressive wine list. That said the wines we had by the glass were good so no complaints about that. Also appreciated the friendly yet professional service.

Wonderful menu and loved the 3 course tasting menu with wine pairings. Great staff. Quaint restaurant in great location right off the city port area/market. Highly recommend. Great food experience.
