La Grange

"On the Autun road, this former barn is now a chic and inviting restaurant, where a mountain atmosphere reigns. On the menu find tasty and meticulous cuisine, made with fine regional ingredients such as tapas from the terroir and Bigorre pork chop with morels. A good place." - Michelin Inspector

Tasty good without any service. The place offers a few menu’s (35/45/52€) it includes starters, main dish and dessert. All plates from “ complete menu” you may choose separately. The place has kids menu. It took us loooong time to choose something, because the menu is only in French language. Spanish translation is written by hand!!!!! 😅 And it’s quite complicated to understand it. We were 8 person so after we chose food for everyone, all food was coming mixed. The waiter doesn’t know who ordered what. Because all dishes was new for us, in the end it was mixed food for everyone. The food is nice presented, big portions and really delicious! We have tried to make reservations by phone written in google maps, but no one replied. The place is not big, so maybe in high season will be difficult to get table without reservations

Came in early January as a party 11. Each plate was left empty (and mine clean, thanks to a swift movement of bread over my plate). The photos I've posted are of my girlfriend's selection. My selection consisted of foie gras (in two ways), filet de bœuf, and apple cake of some sort. Very good. Recommended for anyone and everyone. All the best to the team at La Grange. Thank you for making my experience at St Lary that much better.

Best meal we ate in the Pyranees. Every bite delicious and service very friendly despite our limited French. They had three modestly priced 3-course prix fixe meals (30-50 E) and an ala carte menu. There were three of us so we ordered each of the prix fixe menus and shared. The Bigore menu won with the greatest ham with poached eggs first course and the best and most perfectly cooked pork chop I’ve ever had for the second. The duck, lamb; and other courses all equally delicious as were the drinks. Bravo

The service was good as well as the food. We just find the dessert a little too sweet for us specially when some of the savoury meal (the sauce) already tasted a little bit sweet. Regardless we still enjoyed our dinner :)

Outstanding dinner. Fresh and delicious dishes with seasonal flavors and good perfectly. Options for set menus or ala carte. Children set menus. The service was a 10 star. The two gentlemen worked very hard attentive to the full house and assisted us by speaking English. A MUST stop if you are in the area.

Stopped here for lunch was expecting the usual fair something and chips. However was not expecting fine dining quality food that is very good value and absolutely delicious. The food is cooked very well, presented well and tastes great. I had the choux pastry dessert and would put this as one of the best puddings I have eaten anywhere and that I includes Michelin star restaurants. Highly recommended. Visited again in March 2022 still serves excellent food well presented and very flavoursome. Once again the deserts were outstanding.

Yelp
A year ago, when my husband and I were in Saint Lary, we stumbled upon La Grange, a restaurant that the local hotel had suggested. We instantly fell in love with their delicious food and warm atmosphere. We decided that we wanted to have our wedding reception there, so a few weeks later we asked the restaurant owner and they agreed. We live in the USA and speak very little French, but that was not a barrier as the owner of La Grange was so friendly and willing to accommodate us by communicating in English. Over the past year, we communicated with the owner of La Grange, Mme Aubiban via email to plan a wedding reception at La Grange. Neither my husband nor I had ever planned a wedding nor did we have a vision for what we desired, but Mme Aubiban's warm personality eased our anxiety as she helped us make decisions and create a vision. On the day of the wedding, La Grange exceeded our expectations as the ambiance, food and waitstaff were all phenomenal. It is often difficult for a restaurant to prepare 60 meals at the same time, but La Grange managed it with perfection, each course was delicious. The waitstaff went above and beyond expectations, they were attentive, accommodating and friendly. Our friends and family are still talking about how lucky we are to have selected such a fabulous place to have our wedding reception. Thank you La Grange for helping us to create memories of a lifetime.
