Restaurant La Table du Lavoir – Les Sources de Caudalie
I had lunch here after a wine tasting at Château Smith Haut Lafitte. The staff kindly recommended some local wines to try instead of the estate’s, and both choices were lovely:
• Château Marjosse, Grand Vin de Bordeaux 2021
• Château Haut-Bergey, Pessac-Léognan “Cuvée Paul” 2020
The food was simple and farm-fresh, without overly complex flavors — clean and satisfying. My favorite part of the meal was the dessert: refreshing, bright, and perfectly balanced.
Since the restaurant was fully booked, service was understandably a bit slow. Staffing seemed limited, and some tables around us had yet to place orders. To keep things smooth, we all ordered the same dishes:
Starter:
Pâté en croûte with foie gras and pickles
Main:
Rack of lamb with spinach, broccoli, thyme, and candied lemon jus
Dessert:
Cardamom panna cotta with citrus and orange sorbet
A lovely lunch in a beautiful setting — just be sure to book ahead and bring a little patience. In the meantime, enjoy the charming atmosphere and take the opportunity to slow down and connect with your company.
