"In the vicinity of the Champs-Élysées, this Directoire-style private mansion oozes with special occasion glamour. During his career, René Lasserre (d. 2006), who came to Paris to learn the trade while still a teenager, raised the restaurant to the rank of iconic landmark. Columns, lush green plants and orchids, silver tableware and knick-knacks, crystal chandeliers, Chinese porcelain, etc, have set the scene in the lavishly appointed dining room for over 80 years. The magical retractable sliding roof, which bathes the tables in natural light, is another highlight of this mythical venue. Jean-Louis Nomicos tweaks the establishment’s culinary heritage, adding a personal twist: stuffed macaroni, black truffles, celery and duck foie gras in a light gratin; "André Malraux" squab, French peas; gourmet chocolate soufflée tarte…" - Michelin Inspector

Had a dream night here! We were celebrating our anniversary, and from start to finish our experience was perfect. We got the 4-course set menu. For starters, we had the Macaronis Farcis and the Avocat Saint Germain. The Macaronis Farcis was overrated, we wouldn’t order it again. The Avocat Saint Germain was superb! For the main dishes we got a steak with foie gras (forgot the name) and their lobster - both were great. And for the dessert we had the Crepes Suzette and one of their chocolate desserts and both were great. Definitely try the crepes - they prepare them live and it’s fun to watch. The waiters were all incredible and very friendly. The ambience is just so dream-like. They had a live pianist, and the ceiling opened for some parts of the night for an open feel. The place is designed so beautifully. The only two side-comments are 1) the place is a bit too prim and proper which can feel a bit stuffy (especially with some of the service theatrics) - but maybe fitting to get that different kind of experience - and 2) it is way too pricey.

Really a class restaurant. Try it out when the weather is nice they open the roof. The staff are amazing

Google
The epitome representation of what classic French fine dining was meant to be, I would say it is worthy to classify this place as a bucket list must go dining experience. I hope to recreate their fried potato puffs.

QoE: We had an exceptional dining experience at this restaurant "Lasserre"! The staff guided us to our seats on the second floor and extended a warm welcome with delightful complimentary items. They expertly assisted us in choosing drinks and dishes, including the exquisite "Macaronis farcis," "œufs aux cèpes," "canard à l'orange," "pommes coing," "coupe billecart Salmon Rose", "coupe Laurent Perrier", "eau de Sail", and more. The service was efficient, and we were impressed by the use of technology to open the roof for a breath of fresh air. It truly added to the overall wonderful quality of our dining experience.

Went on Friday night. 4th visit over the years. Only 3 tables had guests. Food was uninspiring and presentation sloppy. Service was stiff, and unwelcoming aside from the reception downstairs. Despite an empty restaurant the sommelier forgot to serve a wine pairing with the main until we were finished. Did not apologise. I asked them if they could open the roof as my guest had never seen it, they opened it halfway and then closed it right away (it was not raining nor that cold). This place has gone downhill over the years - will not be back. Take your €700 and pick another restaurant.

Just wow The food was incredible We got the tasting menu. It was kind of expensive, it cost two of us around €800 included one bottle of wine. The staff were super professional It’s better to make a reservation for this place.

Google
One of the best restaurants in the world. Elegance and style. Not over the top but classy and opulent at the same time. The cuisine is amazing. Service exceptional. I can not find fault. We had a romantic dinner and will remember the experience. The sauce! The style of dishes was light but full of flavour and the sauce was sensational. The service was like a well choreographed dance and the atmosphere dignified but warm and comfortable. Thank you for a world class experience.

Google
One of the most memorable dining experiences I had in Paris. This restaurant doesn’t really show up in any reviews or lists. However, it was one of my most memorable. It was my first Paris restaurants during my first travels to Paris. It was everything I dreamed up from the indulgence to the impeccable attention to details.

Yelp
Our final dinner in our trip Paris France was at this amazing one star Michelin restaurant. It was very special and another unforgettable experience. The food was exquisite, the service was spectacular and the ambiance was so romantic. This was also the first restaurant we've ever been to where the roof opened up to reveal the evening sky! Amor Paris

Yelp
this is one of the best Paris has to offer.... but we won't be there until early 2025. The setting last trip was exceptional and the food amazing. I will update when we get back .....

Yelp
Don't get the perfect egg;; it's far from it. I really liked pretty much every Rrj ing else about this restaurant

Yelp
The atmosphere was traditional and elegant. The food was remarkable and the service was highly competent.

Yelp
It was one of our hotel, GV's recommendation. You go up to a second floor and bustling scene with formally dressed waiters. We share the zucchini flower as an appetizer which was amazing. My BF had steak and I had sea bass with caviar. It was one of the best sea bass I have ever had. My dessert was amazing as well anything with fresh berries is winner for me. Highly recommend for date night.

Yelp
Let me first start off by saying that I absolutely hate tourist attractions! And for the longest time that's what I thought of Lasserre. Trendy area, Uber French, etc. My Fiancé (who is French), made reservation and I was a bit annoyed. Then we showed up. I have got to say that this was one of my most favorite meals in Paris- if not the best. Waiters in tuxedos, staff hustling and bustling and everyone is very attentive. The service was so amazing I forgot I was in France! Then comes the food. Absolutely amazing. We started with the poached egg with artichoke and black truffle- heavenly! Followed by the duck a l'orange. Possibly the best duck I've ever had including Peking duck in Peking. Don't miss this. The dessert is equally as impressive, we had the special with pear and ice cream. I can't stop raving about this place. I will be back!

Yelp
Yummy doesn't do this palace of edible deliciousness justice. Either my #1 or #2 Paris extravagant evening out for gourmet cuisine. And in 2021 Lasserre does not let me down.

Yelp
While we were in Paris, we decided to treat ourselves to one super fancy night out. Lasserre did not disappoint! Everything we had was amazing and the service/ambiance was outstanding. If you're looking for a special night out, this place is a great option.

Yelp
Excellent. We booked our lunch at Lassere--of all days--on Quatorze Juillet, so we were detained for 40 minutes behind a barricade on the Champs Elysees while Macron and Trump practiced their signature handshake moves. While late, the staff at Lassere couldn't have been more gracious about our predicament. We were escorted in a small elevator up to the dining room whereupon the doors open, diners look up to see who has entered, and you are shown to your table. The dining room is a beautiful jewel box, with a roof that opens and closes to reveal the summer sun and cooing of rooftop doves. The aviary theme plays out on individual bird statuettes on the dining tables. And the food! Unforgettable. To start, the mushroom and eggplant with pistachio nuts. I had the fish as a main course with an orange sauce that was full of fresh orange flavor--tangy, sweet, concentrated. My husband had the lamb and loved it. We had an apricot confection for dessert. The sommelier was knowledgeable and helpful, and the wait staff were professional and very nice and understanding about our late arrival.

Yelp
Cute boutique like restaurant. You're welcomed by a hostess and her assistant that takes you to the dining room via cute Parisian elevator. The waiters and bus boys are all elegantly good at their job. They'll speak to you in almost any language, and have menus to accompany that as well. Food was good. Mind you it is a 2 Michelin rated restaurant so I did definitely expect a little bit more out of it. The macaroni stuffed with black truffle and duck foie gras was my favorite out of the bunch and this was just a starter. Every bite was magnificent. The lobster, as it was delicious was still missing something to get my taste buds happy. Overall, the experience is a nice one, but was expecting more from Chef Trouilloud.

Yelp
Booked by my Cousin who lives in Paris and he highly recommended the restaurant. He told them that this was our honeymoon even though we have been married for 15 years, but this was our first trip alone in a long time so we played along. Our reservation was at 8:30 but arrived at 7:30 just to check on the reservation, they offed our table earlier if we wanted. We accepted since we had nothing else to do at the time. The first thing you notice was how many employees there are working on the second floor dining room. This is a serious old school dining experience and very formal. Like the female guest not having prices on their menu and a gift for each female guest. How would they handle gay couples? The service was the best we have ever experienced and the food to match. We had the tasting menu which include 7 courses finishing with a chocolate souffle that was unbelievably good. But the highlight of the evening was the roof opening to let some fresh air in and the amazing piano player who just happen to play one of our favorite love songs, which made my wife cry right in the middle of dessert. Priceless and most memorable. I looked over at the pianist to say thank you and he slowly gave me a nod like he knew it hit the mark. so cool.....this restaurant is for special occasions and it will deliver in every way.

Yelp
You know you're going to have outstanding service when there are more wait staff than guests at a restaurant. At Lasserre, you are even escorted to the restroom, which is down a small, quaint elevator. We tried just about everything and if I had to choose just one menu item to have again, it would be the macaroni & cheese with black truffle and foie gras. This is a dish I would eat daily, if possible. Very curious to learn how they fill each piece of pasta all the way through before stacking them beautifully on the plate. The wine list, as expected, is impeccable. Some rare bottles that went back to the early 1960's - through to some more affordable options. An interesting feature about the building is their retractable roof that opened and closed throughout the meal, letting in a new light and fresh air.

Bob B.

Yelp
Always an experience. I have been coming to Lasserre since 1988 and have always been impressed. The room, the service, the clientele, the food, the presentation, all combine for a memorable evening. I still remember the evening, many years ago, when I had ordered the chef's Pâté du Jour. It was wonderful. Unfortunately, my esteemed legal counsel, seated next to me, offered me one of his escargots. I accepted and he placed the exquisite, garlicky creation on my plate. The waiter swooped in and removed it (for polluting the plate holding Chef's prized pâté)! This, it is simply not done in Paris. You get the idea. Although Lasserre is extremely pricey, I was able to find a few reasonably priced wines on their extensive and excellent list. Lasserre will not disappoint. Come on the weekend to dine with Paris' finest.

Yelp
Everything you should expect from a high end restaurant. From the moment you arrive and are escorted via a hidden elevator to the upper floor, to the unexpected beautiful ceiling (I won't ruin the surprise), to the serving in perfect unison, everything was expertly done and timed. Impeccable service, and the food... oh the food! The duck was masterfully cooked and exquisite, as were the scallops and the other three courses we had. Be sure to get the souffle for desert, it was devine! The spectical where they cook the crepes in front of you over a live fire was fun to watch as well if you like intensely orange flavored desserts.

Jaime H.

Yelp
This was probably the most amazing experience of my life the food was divine the service was incomparable the atmosphere was perfect.

Jon S.

Yelp
Went here for a nice dinner with the old ball and chain. I walked in without a reservation and they definitely looked at me like dude what is wrong with you. Luckily there was one table open for us. I got the veal and lobster bread starter. It was seriously amazing. The lobster was good but the veal stole the show. For my main course i had foi gras and steak but also some of the lamb. All of it was amazing and the foi gras was the best I've ever had. Dessert was also delicious as we got an assortment of treats. The service from start to finish was impeccable. It could not have been better. Every waiter was very professional and accommodating even though we don't speak French. One of the best dining experiences I've had and worth the very hefty price.

Yelp
Lasserre is truly a unique dining experience that makes you feel like royalty. My husband and I recently ate here during our honeymoon trip to Paris and the food is absolutely delicious! This was the best meal of my life and I'm sure my husband would agree. The old world elegant ambiance is breathtaking. Upon entering, the long carpeted corridor leads into a velvet padded elevator which is operated by an attendant (yes, you need to take the elevator upstairs to the restaurant). The entire dining area is adorned with large, white orchids, antique furniture, and a retractable roof! The roof opens and closes during dinner every few minutes or so and you get a moment's glimpse of the gorgeous night sky. The tables and chairs are spaced well and situated in such a way that allow for a great view of the entire room. And after all, what's not to love about a Michelin star restaurant that was visited by Audrey Hepburn and Salvatore Dali? The waitstaff, dressed in black tuxedos (I love bow ties), were very attentive. Something I found interesting, they have blind menus for ladies. I had never experienced that before in the United States. While we were reading the menus, I asked my husband why there weren't any prices listed and he said his menu did have prices, showed me and we both laughed. I suppose it's tradition in the fancier French restaurants. We had their famous black macaroni with truffles and foie gras and it was excellent! I did not know if I would like it since I've never had it before and I absolutely love it. Isn't it great to discover new favorite dishes? We also enjoyed the beef filet entree with puffed potatoes and a chocolate soufflé dessert. The beef was very juicy and everything was cooked to perfection. Very expensive dinner but worth it. Bottom line, this place is a dream. If we ever get the chance to return to Paris, we would definitely dine here again.

Yelp
One of the best known Paris restaurants, Lasserre bears 3 Michelin stars - quite a feat. Service was impecable and atmosphere was classical and very nice, despite the furniture having begun to show some age, wear and tear. Go on a warm day and they might open the glass roof. Wine list was outstanding and we let the sommelier chose for us which worked out well since she chose wines from regions we would not have picked on our own. The fare itself as good but a bit bland and could have had more creativity considering the fire power in the kitchen. I had a salad which was more of a gelatinous mix for an appetizer, followed by mixed wild mushroom risotto to which I needed to add salt & pepper. Cheese course and desert were excellent. Cost, of course, was out of this world. Worth the trip if one is looking for the traditional, high end, culinary experiences of Paris.

Yelp
I found this restaurant to be extremely formal and stuffy. While I do enjoy dining at nice places, I prefer to have a little more privacy than the open floor plan and way too many employees watching my every move so that they can assist me. The food was good, but I just could not feel comfortable and completely relaxed with men in tuxedos standing around the entire time.

Lochlan M.

Yelp
Men: jeans are ok and you don't need a tie. It is definitely formal dining and you do need a jacket, but it isn't as stuffy as you might expect. I am mentioning this first because this was my top concern going into the dining experience. I ended up wearing a 100 euro Zara jacket with khakis and no tie, and I fit right in. The service was the best I've had. I think my wife and I were served by five waiters. The sommelier did overcharge us for the wrong digestif but they were happy to correct the bill. The food was also the best I've had. This was my first Michelin star experience and the food was absolutely outstanding. Everything was perfectly cooked and perfectly plated. The flavors were complex and well paired with each other. The wine selections from the sommelier were also well paired with the food. As I expected after reading other reviews, my wife received a menu without prices and received a small gift at the end of the meal. A bit odd to us, but she seemed to enjoy it. Definitely the best dining experience I or my wife have ever had...but at 700+ euro for three courses with drinks, I have to admit I would have been upset if it were anything less!

David H.

Yelp
Wonderful meal. The open roof was a really nice touch on a warm Paris evening. A new favorite.

Katie P.

Yelp
I can't believe how amazing this restaurant was. It was worth every moment and dollar spent. I had no idea what I was missing until I went there

Laura B.

Yelp
This is my second time dining here and it was still lovely. The room couldn't be more beautiful and magical with flowers, gold decor, and the ceiling which opens up to the night sky. The foie gras and truffle macaroni is by far one of the best dishes in the world. If you want the quintessential Parisian dining experience then you must go here for your splurge meal.

Nicolas C.

Yelp
Amazing gastronomy experience, lovely staff and great place. Definitely worth the $$ spend.

Vivian C.

Yelp
Okay would give 0 star if I could--i called to confirm the reservation as they stipulated, and the guy HUNG UP ON ME TWICE without any explanation when I tried to tell him that I don't speak French and would like to talk to someone who speaks English. WTF?? with this kind of snobbery i don't know what's going to happen to your business.

Roland R.

Yelp
It's a beautiful room and a very comfortable ambience. We settled in, had a glass of champagne, read the menu, put the menu closed on the table, and then waited for more than 45 minutes while literally every other table in the restaurant had their order taken and was served food and wine. Eventually we got frustrated and walked out. They said that they saw that we had our menus closed, and assumed from that that we didn't want to be disturbed. That was hard to understand--usually it is when people have their menus still open that it appears that they are not ready to order. This is more than cultural differences--they just don't do a good job of serving their customers.

James B.

Yelp
This is what you expect when you expect class in a way only Paris could do it. Eat the spectacular food. Drink their amazing wines. Spend a fortune because isn't that the point? You will be catered to your hearts desires because you are a King at Lasserre. No other restaurant has ever made me feel the same way.

Rick J.

Yelp
My first trip to Paris. Once in a lifetime experience at Lasserre. Service, food and ambience equally wonderful. Duck superb. Stunning presentation.

Habib A.

Yelp
Beautiful decor, attentive service and creative dishes. That is what can be said about this small but worth visiting restaurant. Very much recommended.
