L'Atelier

"At the gates of the medieval city, this cosy restaurant with rustic touches is the stronghold of Fabrice Rodot. Diners sample contemporary cuisine, which favours local and seasonal produce, without forgetting the scrumptious homemade bread. To be savoured alfresco in summertime." - Michelin Inspector

Great surroundings, kind staff and delicious food. We had lunch there with my husband and my father after showing up without any reservations. The staff welcomed us and we had a great time and delicious meal. I am lactose intolerant and the chef was extremely helpful and adaptable. The fish was very well cooked and the veggies were delicious. First time I tasted an algae sorbet!

We know and love this restaurant that we make a point of having lunch or dinner from over 8 years now. It never fails to fill all the stars with excellent service, exciting and delicious food and always a great welcome when you arrive.

This is our go-to restaurant for special occasions and so, as yesterday was our 49th. Wedding Anniversary we came to L'Atelier. Once again we were not disappointed, but very impressed with the delicious food, beautifully presented and served with real professionalism and a warm welcome. Looking forward to our next visit!

L’Atelier is a favourite restaurant but we were a little disappointed with the menu last night - perhaps it’s due to high season demand or the heatwave has tired the chef but the choice was very limited. Opener was either a foie gras slice or a tomato relish and main plate was magret du canard or turbot with aubergine purée and a lobster bisque. We were a party of four and ordered both options between us - the foie gras was of the usual high quality, the tomatoes were fine but not special, the turbot was served in small thin slices that were smothered in the sauces so it was not possible to taste the fish and the duck was somewhat tough. So unfortunately not the best night for food but the service, as always, was impeccable.

Absolutely sensational lunch! As a vegetarian it can sometimes feel like you're just being served up whatever vegetables are accompanying the day's featured meat & fish dishes. L'Atelier are skilled at creating inventive, delicious food for everyone. I can honestly say, I enjoyed the best food I have eaten since I moved to France 5 years ago, and I have been lucky enough to eat in some wonderful restaurants. L'Atelier you knocked it out of the park, not only with the exquisite food, but also the wonderful service and beautiful setting. I can't wait to revisit!

After a few happy hours at Issigeac market I headed to the shady garden of L'Atelier for lunch starting with an excellent glass of Bergerac white from Ch Monderys. From the amuse bouche to the bread and everything in between was exceptional. Wish i lived closer. Juliet - Hawkes Bay New Zealand

A delightful restaurant. The outside terrace is lovely and well shaded. Food was of a high standard and the staff were very charming. It has the best cheese selection I have ever seen. Would definitely recommend
