L’Atelier is a favourite restaurant but we were a little disappointed with the menu last night - perhaps it’s due to high season demand or the heatwave has tired the chef but the choice was very limited. Opener was either a foie gras slice or a tomato relish and main plate was magret du canard or turbot with aubergine purée and a lobster bisque. We were a party of four and ordered both options between us - the foie gras was of the usual high quality, the tomatoes were fine but not special, the turbot was served in small thin slices that were smothered in the sauces so it was not possible to taste the fish and the duck was somewhat tough. So unfortunately not the best night for food but the service, as always, was impeccable.
