La Zorra - Review - Sitges - Barcelona - The Infatuation

"Unlike the many tourist traps at the nearby beachfront, this place in Sitges isn’t the kind of place you stumble upon by accident. La Zorra makes some of the best paella around—not just in Catalonia, but in all of Spain. Their versions don't stick to traditions, so you can dig into a giant pan of seabass and Iberian ham paella or even one packed with crab meat, bottarga, and served with a whole spider crab on top. You’ll most likely need a reservation weeks in advance, especially during summer weekends when the day-trippers come to town. photo credit: Sara Larsson" - Isabelle Kliger

The shaded terrace is beautiful and the food was great. The hummus was delicious, salad was incredibly fresh, and the rice dishes were all amazing. We had a party of 9, so we were able to try 3 different rice dishes. All of them were great. The homemade lemonade is definitely a must have! Not only were the atmosphere and food wonderful, but the service was top notch. We truly enjoyed our experience last week.

Visited LaZorra with a group of eight friends while staying in Sitges. Overall, it was a good experience—the restaurant has a nice vibe, the service was friendly, and they were accommodating with dietary preferences. Three of us are vegan, only one main and starter option on the menu. The vegan paella was tasty and well-cooked, though it really benefited from a bit of lemon juice to bring out the flavors (which we requested and received with no issue). The hummus (served without yogurt), however despite asking for it without the yoghurt it still arrived with it on the side. That said, we did find the pricing a bit steep. The paella was €23 per person with a minimum of two people per order, meaning it cost €46 for a single shared dish. It was a large portion, but for what it was, it still felt slightly overpriced. All in all, a pleasant dinner with some highlights—especially for plant-based eaters—but just be aware of the pricing on certain dishes.

Such a bad experience it's difficult to put it into words. I was so excited to try this restaurant as I am a big fan of the owner as a chef. I felt so let down by the terrible service and the mediocre quality that I need to advise people to not come here until something happens. Even though we booked a table we had to wait 25 minutes to be seated. We placed drinks orders and 50 MINUTES later and after asking 4 members of staff (who told us to wait) we finally placed the food order. At this point we had already drank an entire bottle of wine and ordered another one. The food is ok but it's not worth the price point. The green salad is probably the best thing we ate. I'm so disappointed that I chose this restaurant and took my family here. It was such a let down I hope that some management will see this review and take action because what's happening in this restaurant is not acceptable. For 3 people we spent 200 euro and left hungry and annoyed at the shockingly bad service. Please avoid. Pathetic

We had a good dinner at this stylish restaurant, the scallops being especially delicious. Most dishes were tapas-sized portions. And though tempted to return another day for the prix-fixe paella lunch menu, we were dissuaded by the unusual 36 E/ pp charge. It seems strange that lunch should be so much more expensive than dinner.

Nice place, I guess better in summer since in the terrace is a bit cold now. If you want to go better book since it was impossible to be seated this weekend without booking. The food was good, my favourite was the hummus, really tasty and citric. We tried the zamburiñas paella which was nice too. The staff was friendly but they were really busy so we had to wait too long to order and to get the plates.

This meal was a train wreck. While the food was good the service was absolutely horrible. We sat down and weren’t even able to put in drink orders for 30 minutes. At the hour and a half mark after sitting down we still hadn’t received the main course. We finally finished 3 hours after sitting down and had to ask 4 times for the bill and were ignored even though the restaurant was empty. Another table near us struck up a conversation over how awful the service was. Save your time and money and go elsewhere

We had lunch at this place. It’s a set menu - 2 starters and rice. It’s such a weird menu, starters don’t actually fit with paella at all. They are still way better than the main course. Paella was really bad, i don’t get why this place is so popular. There are much better restaurants in Sitges, I’d never go back to La Zorra!

Best bread and salad I’ve had in ages! Paella was also quite good. It’s Spain so don’t expect great service but it was still passable. Main thing is the food.

Yelp
The paella we ordered was boring and it was supposed to have cuttlefish. We found one tiny piece of fish. The rest was bad salami. The salad and hummus were great though.

Yelp
Great location with indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor seating has AC and ceiling fans while the outdoor section has mist sprayers! Amazing way to escape from the Sitges heat. On to the food! You choose two appetizer along with the type of paella, around $28 per person. I tried their green salad, croquettes and squid ink paella. Everything was amazing!! The salad was refreshing and crisp. The croquettes came with a nice tzatziki-like sauce. And the paella was flavorful with ample mussels and squid. Definitely was full by the end and would recommend eating here!

Yelp
Great location near the water. Indoor and outdoor seating. They have a great playlist with lots of American hits and top songs. They start you off with a bowl of green olives which I believe is the custom. We started with the calamari, mussels, and bread and olive oil. We shared a Paella as a table and a pitcher of Sangria. The Paella was a mix of rabbit, chicken, and something else. It was a great portion size and it seemed to hold true to the traditional style. The Sangria was a white one, not to sweet, lots of fruit

Yelp
One of the best meals of my entire life conveniently delivered on my 40th bday. I honestly only picked the joint because it's very pretty and i wanted to move away from the place i normally go which is great but over priced. The service is perfect - just absolutely perfect - we had two waiters for our table - I now have crushes on both of them. What immediately sold me was the wine list - deep cuts and amazing natural wine and most of it fuera de la carta!!! We started with an interesting local garnatxa Blanca and Malvasia de Sitges (fun to order in Sitges!) sparkler. After I told our waiter what kind of rosé I like and asked if he thought orange would pair well with paella - he both taught me how to say orange in Catalan and agreed on the pairing. I only had to lift my finger and the next bottle was chosen for me (at an amazing price point - no upsell here) and delivered. This alone would have sold me on the place but my god that kitchen can turn out impressive food. The salad was dressed so well it depresses me to know I'll never be able to dress a salad like that - I dunno if you've ordered many salads in Spain - I do at every meal just to get the fiber in a protein and starch heavy environment - but one does not expect perfectly dressed beautiful greens in Spain much less Sitges. The squid paella now holds the superlative for best paella I've ever eaten - I always say (in Spanish) that I like my paella burned and please do it with plenty of soccarrat - few places oblige despite my specific requests - but you sure better believe this place did. After one meal I place la Zorra next to Roberta's (my local Brooklyn dream restaurant) - if you knew me you'd know I'm in love.
