Le Cénacle

"Le Cénacle has a plush, elegant atmosphere (superb 16C sculpted fireplace, a Caravaggio print, exposed beams). The chef takes pride in forging long-lasting partnerships with good regional producers: organic vegetables from Gers, lamb from Béarn, line-caught fish. Inventive cuisine with a Mediterranean flavour, and good value for money at lunchtime." - Michelin Inspector

We enjoyed the three-course lunch special here. Each dish was uniquely complex and delicious. If you come here as a party of two, you can opt to try both options for their starter, main, and dessert - which is what my husband and I did. What blew me away the most was actually the pear dessert. The staff is very friendly and the overall atmosphere was very relaxing. While everything was amazing I did think the portions were a bit small for the price. But everything was truly lovely.

An exceptional dining experience from start to finish. We enjoyed a beautiful four-course menu with wine pairings that complemented each dish perfectly. The service was warm and unhurried. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable evening out.

What a great experience. The dining room was small enough to feel intimate but large enough to not feel alone. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The food was amazing and we loved the wine pairings that went with it. We took the five course dinner and we enjoyed every course. Great attention to detail and agin thanks to the staff for making our evening so special

A beautiful restaurant with perfect service. We were running late due to lack of parking spaces in the area but the staff was very understanding and inviting regardless. The meal started with 3 types of amuse-bouche which were each very delicious although very unlike in taste. Next we had 2 different starters which both were excellent, following we had 2 main courses, tuna and duck. The duck was a bit heavy course for lunch but tasted very good and the tuna was a more light which made it easier in regards to a 3 course meal. To finish this beautiful meal we had 2 types of deserts, a melon desert and a chocolate hazelnut praline desert which both tasted very good. The staff was excellent and willing to go the extra mile in making drinks who suited us, with and without alcohol. Highly recommended for food enthusiasts. They deserve four and a half star!

Second break in my 11 days 11 3 stars (follow me for all the reviews and updates), still in Toulouse, the morning after Py-r, I had lunch at Le Cénacle, which is a few meters away. A one star located in the superb hotel des consuls. Local with class So what’s interesting here? I’ll reduce it to 2 main point and add 2 small ones. Class. The most obvious. The room is gorgeous in its 16th century style (please correct me if I’m wrong). The fireplace alone worths the trip but it’s not the only thing with class here. The chef cooks to be at par with the place. It’s classy and not flashy. It’s not like next door but they do both operate under the assumption that you do not need expensive ingredients to do great cuisine. Which brings me to the second point: local. A bit like next door, pyr, there’s a focus on local. I said a bit because here it’s more to celebrate the local heritage. And I said heritage because it’s modern. Bottom line, you’ll have classy heritage inspired modern cuisine. And for an extremely reasonable price, as a bonus. I know we are not in Paris but it’s the kind of price you find in Vendee not in a big town. To be fair, next door is also relatively cheap for a two stars dinner. One thing is different though, they have a better wine list. At least for the champagne, it’s considerably better, and they had a great one by the glass. One last side note to say that I appreciated the service, and the nice addresses the waitress gave me. The crowd was business and hotel residents. But it was lunch. The dinner by the fireplace must be awesome. A solid one star (it was actually a newly promoted chef).

Worthy of a Michelin star. For starter price of 39€ for lunch and dinner, you can sample impeccable gourmet food with sophisticated ambiance and warm service, stones away from the Garonne and Esquirol station. Restaurant is located inside a 5 star hotel. And is also a a minute walk away from another Michelin star awarded restaurant Py-R. While that restaurant is very good too, what makes Le Cenacle good is its reasonably priced at 39€ which includes amuse bouche, entree, plat, dessert and petit four. I always get a champagne for aperitif, be careful it’s 20€ per glass. Order with caution. The wine pairing was good, the red wine that went with the pork was curious. It smelled like seafood but it was a good contrast with the plate. Enter in the hotel lobby to the left and you go around the corridor passing the beautiful staircase, I was told original from the construction of the building in the 14th century or so. Then you pass the bar and finally the restaurant. First time I went to this restaurant I got lost in the inner courtyard trying to get to the place. Lol. Well, there is no shortcut, you have to go through inside hotel. The service was very good, you don’t feel snubbed at all, very homey feel and not uptight but very professional. I really appreciate that. They have good staff here. I remember also when I first tried to book months ago, they called me back to say they’re closed as exception and offered to get me the earliest possible booking I would want to come. I respected the hustle that she was doing a good job getting the restaurant booked but I didn’t feel pushed as well, just her trying to serve and being assertive. The food, okay. The amuse bouche were amazing. When you come, eat it left to right, the first one from the left tasted odd but good..somewhat like paper, amusing. The last one on the right was really yummilicious. Entree plat were both simple and yet very memorable, every bite or spoon was a joy. Dessert didn’t disappoint as well. Crusty on the outside and super moist inside, flavors of the sugar and citron were well balanced. Can’t wait to be back. I’m already trying to book for January. Hopefully new menu.

The place is just outstanding! 🌟 Very nice service, the waitress was very kind and fluent in English. We had a vegetarian tasting menu. Food was interesting and delicious. We were impressed about The interior of the restaurant. 🙌🏼🥰

Another 1 Star Michelin restaurant in Toulouse. This was very good. Our menu was not as large but the portions and service were of a high quality. The foie and beef in beef broth was amazing!

Yelp
Best meal we had during 2 weeks in SW France & San Sebastián (where we tried a couple other Michelin starred restaurants). We opted for the superb 'Signature' menu. Most impressively, they were extremely accommodating with requests to alter some dishes for one of our party who found the dairy-free alternatives the chef conjured up outstanding (we'd warned them ahead of time).
