"The lights of Le Fanal (“The Lantern”) will guide you to this idyllic spot overlooking Banyuls marina. Catalan-born Pascal Borrell has decided to drop anchor here after stints in several top Paris restaurants and running the Chapon Fin at Perpignan. The main attraction here is fish: hake, monkfish, sole, turbot, cod and anchovy pickles delicately marinated in Banyuls vinegar." - Michelin Inspector

We had the tasting menu with wine pairing that did not disappoint! Each course was excellent with well matched wines. The staff were efficient and friendly from when we entered to when we left. We look forward to returning!

Enjoyed a delightful dinner on a slow Winter evening a week before Christmas. Was happy I could book a reservation online same-day! After microwaved meals in the hotel a Michelin Star experience was very refreshing and satisfying. Chose the mid-range formula menu with wine paring. Service was attentive, without being suffocating. Server spoke English with me, even sharing details about the wine glasses that I found beautiful. 2 more courses to go (formage et les dessert!!) I’ll need a walk around the port before driving back to hotel. Merci for a delicious meal!

Very good dining here, we stopped for lunch on a weekday and it was packed. Try the boar, it's an extra 10 euros but very good in my book. The desert mille feaux was also very good. I did take a picture of their menu but they asked me not to post it because some other restaurant is stealing their menu, go figure lol, so I'm respecting their wishes. Service is a little clumsy and too invasive for Americans but it's the same all over Europe. We loved the restaurant.

Yes it's expensive and there are lots of cheaper alternatives in town but this kitchen is superb: great combinations of local natural flavours.

Splendid fine dining establishment in a nice location on the port. A few things didn’t work for me: It took them a really long time to serve us and they never apologized They had a super standoffish and snobby attitude as if their restaurant was the best anywhere The food was good but not great Still a good effort from the chef in creativity.

Amazing experience, 3 hours of pure pleasure. Everything was splendid: food, atmosphere, excellent service. Thank you, team! Bon soiree and see you again soon :)

The food was good but the service good have been better for a Michelin restaurant. Certainly the waiters did their best and were really friendly but didn't know about the wines on the list, for example. Restaurant has nice view over the sea and a harbor.

Pretentious, small portions & overpriced, just everything that makes dining out enjoyable. Service was mediocre However, the creme brulee was excellent. I would not want to repeat the experience.

Yelp
Facts only here: We waited over an hour for our first course; the waiter forgot to bring the tasting wines; we were charged 5 euros each for 2 dollops of butter--very mean! (although the bread was very good); duck breast in both meals was horrifically overcooked and tough as it appeared to be cut then sauteed. The sauce was not a reduction but runny and flavorless; a plate with 5 small bits of fish for 65 euros is not right; the a la carte flan at 24 euros was the prix fixe flan (ordered by another of our guests) with another flan stacked on top of it. I'v had much better flans as this was thin and runny. No quarrel with the ambiance. It was a Monday--maybe the chef had a day off but that's no excuse for a very disappointing meal.
