"Unlike its namesake, this charming restaurant did not fall from an asteroid: it was established in 1805 by the great-great-aunts of the current owner. The chef, who has worked in some top restaurants, concocts set menus comprising four to eight courses and a more concise formule for weekday lunches. A lounge has been turned into Le 1534, a new space where bistronomy-oriented cuisine is served. The lovely cellar is open to visitors and also hosts tasting workshops." - Michelin Inspector

In-croy-able! This is one of the nicest restaurants I have ever been to. We visited for lunch to celebrate a friend’s birthday, dining outside in the covered patio on a perfect day.The impeccable and friendly service, the absolutely delightful decor and the bold flavors all combined to make this a wonderful experience. Given the ample options of how to dine (four, six, eight course menus with multiple selections within each menu vs. simpler menu of the day) and the various sections of this small property (outdoor elevated patio, outdoor covered garden, indoor dining room, basement wine cellar), no single visit will define the experience. What a wonderful place. How much time before it receives a Michelin star?

One of my favourite restaurants in the area around Roanne. The quality of the food is always excellent. The atmosphere is relaxed and eating on the terrace in summer is a must!
