Le Terroir

"This spruce and welcoming establishment in the centre of the village serves appetising regional cuisine: Burgundy snails with butter, garlic, parsley and almonds; coq au vin with red wine; crème brûlée with pain d'épices. Fine choice of wines by the glass." - Michelin Inspector

Very nice place. We went for lunch and ordered some classic Burgundy dishes, like snails and oeuf meurette. Was very tasty, plates super hot, and served with a smile. Good (local) wine menu as well. Recommended place to go.

We came here on a regular basis with previous owners. Came for lunch on their Terrace. Was disappointed with food and slow service. My vegetarian salad was more a pot pourrie of what was left in the kitchen. Overcooked cauliflower. Un peeled courgette ends. Cold poached eggs either a no taste sauce. We waited 45 minutes for our cold dishes. Dessert sounded great but tasted of little. My partners dish of cold cuts and cheeses from famous Hess shop was not at the quality of that shop. No pickles or condiments. Bland green salad. We paid 98 euro for two to include only one glass of wine.

I went here for dinner on the recommendation of the proprietor of the vineyard I was staying at. I had a great experience with great food and great wine. I had a bottle of a Santenay premier cru from next to the vineyard of one I have had and enjoyed at home, and it was exquisite. The wine list is substantial, and includes at least two dozen bottles just from the Santenay area around the village, with many many more wines both local and from other regions. They also have a few decent wines by the glass. The menu is rather small, which in my opinion is a good thing because the few items on it are usually exceptionally good. I started with their own foie gras, which was both delicious and a sizeable quantity. It's rare that I am ever served enough foie gras to be satisfied, but I was here. For a main course I had scorpionfish, which was delicately prepared with smoked salmon in a way that accentuated the flavor of the fish without overpowering it. Dessert was the chocolate fantasy... need I say more? I then finished off the meal with a glass of Pommard. Overall a great meal!

Excellent choice of restaurant in this small town. We went for my brother in laws birthday. Great food and service, we practiced our French so apologies if it was rubbish! Huge wine list and attentive waiter. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We always stop at Le Terroir when we are in Burgundy! The food is magnifique! The traditional Le Terroir menu is a must have! The wait staff are very helpful and friendly. Madame is always a kind and gracious host. By far, our favorite restaurant in Burgundy. The best Coq Au Vin in Burgundy!

Absolutely first class. French staples (or versions of them) delivered with flair and to a very high standard. We went twice it was that good. Service was efficient and friendly. Oeufs en meurette was incredible as was our dessert - gratine chaud froid aux savours de pain d'epices, creme anglaise, nonette confiture de'orange. Highly recommended .

For entrance we had some scargo, which were good but not out of the ordinary. For the main dish we got the coq au vin which was delicious. A good place to eat lunch if you are doing the bicycle path.

Yelp
This is a nice place with excellent service but I thought that the food was average and not as good as when we visited several years ago.

Yelp
Absolutely a must if you are in the area. Great winelist with some gems. Food is awesome with menus from 27 to 40 Euro for three courses plus a starter. We had snails, coq-au-vin and a couple of deserts - everything was delicious. Great location at the main square and Corinne is the nicest host you can imagine.
