Restaurant le Viste

What a disappointment! We booked by phone. Friends told us this was one of the best places on Elba. And they where 100% right when it comes to the food and scenery! We ( 2 persons) went for the full experience. Bottle of wine, 3 courses etc. We spend a little over €250,- But it all got ruined when all of a sudden we were asked to leave, because ' our time was up'. Of course I know this happens in fast food places, brasseries and tourist traps. But not in fine dining at these prices. They never informed us of the 'time slot', because if we knew we would have never come here. To top it off: the place was not even full! Very disappointing.

Exceptional food in a very romantic setting. We had the fish of the day and it’s preparation was on point! You can tell that the people that work in the kitchen love their craft. The waiters are also very friendly and attentive. Don’t miss out on this place!

Beautiful experience for the location and the view. Dishes are beautiful and the food was good. However, in my opinion, prices are too high for the service and the offer.

Having read the reviews we weren’t so sure but thought we would give it a try because of the sunset views, which didn’t didn’t disappoint. To keep it short, don’t be mislead by old reviews. They have a new chef, he is fantastic the quality of the cooking is very high level, the menu is mostly fish based with a few non fish options. Staff are super helpful and friendly, great wine options too. It is without doubt worth the money. This was the best meal we have had whilst staying here. Can’t recommend it enough.

Super nice venue at the beach. Quality food - local dishes with a twist. Best frittura on the island. Really beautiful sunset! Only minus that the staff were maybe too keen on getting us out before the next reservation.

Amazing location with a mind-blowing sea view, a huge terrace to enjoy delicious seafood. Impossible to not experience this spot if you are in Elba island

Difficult to access by car, but definitely worth the view and the food - fresh seafood, prepared with care and attention to detail. Friendly service!

I have been travelling to Italy every year for the last 10 years. When I love a restaurant I give a good review. When I don’t, I say nothing. After all, it might be a “one off”…. A “bad day”. For this place I will make an exception. My wife and I were recommended this restaurant from a local. We arrived at 12:45pm for lunch and there were only 2 other tables occupied. Our greeting was the first red flag. We were greeted like an inconvenience…… once seated no one came with a menu of water for 10 mins….. in fact we had to wave for attention all day. The staff were too engaged with conversation with one of the other tables to even look at us. Finally we ordered and the waiter could hardly be less interested through the process. We were not of any interest and felt like we interrupted their day. The food arrived. We chose the fresh snapper at 10euro per 100 gram. What arrived was a fish so over grilled there was no moister left. 60 euro of dried, tasteless fish. The starter of fried squid was acceptable but not great….. the tiramisu was pre-made from somewhere else and average. Now what did we pay for this atrocious service and average food. 1 starter 1 fish main 1 desert 1 bottle of wine (50 euro) Shared between 2. 165 Euro. DO NOT EAT HERE and allow this arrogance and poor food to survive in a country that excels with great choices

Le Viste's location is unique, situated on a secret beach hidden some 40m below Elba's fortress. It's arguably one of the most romantic locations in the world. However, we've been coming to this place for 10 years and have seen its ups and downs. This time (August 2024), we were disappointed by the service, because our waitress was slow, inattentive, and had us sit in front of our empty main course plates so that we didn't even bother to order dessert. The food was ok, but in Italy, that is expected and actually, it wasn't significantly better than the food we had the day before in a small place in Marina di Campo which didn't even cost us half the price Le Viste had charged. If you're new to Elba, you must have dinner here once - but not twice (at least at this moment).

My favorite place, fresh seafood, amazing views. Only negative about this place is the walk down the switch back trail down the side of the hill. Once your down! This place has the best food! We enjoyed several amazing dishes, All fresh, all delicious. Beware of what time the kitchen closes. Power went out one of the days we were here and no food was made or served that day. But I absolutely recommend this place!!

Expensive (0,4l beer for 5€; meals for about 19 €) but a very nice spot! Unfortunately the kitchen was closed at 3 pm (which we didn't know in advance) so we could not try the fish dishes. The restaurant was rather hard to find. More signs would have been helpful!
