"L'Escudella is, aptly enough, "plate" in Occitan! Paul-Arthur Berlan, the young chef, has worked in some prestigious establishments (Michel Sarran, Yannick Alléno). Here, he marries produce from the terroir of the Greater Paris area with the flavours of Languedoc. With fresh, high-quality ingredients and well-crafted dishes, he hits the mark." - Michelin Inspector

We stumbled upon this hidden gem after a change in plans—and it turned out to be a highlight of our trip. The menu is constantly evolving, but it’s clear the chef is talented and intentional. We ordered the lamb and beef tenderloin, both of which were exceptional. The mashed potatoes served with the tenderloin might just be the best I’ve ever tasted—rich, creamy, and perfectly seasoned. Dessert was indulgent without being overpowering, a subtly sweet finish to a memorable meal. The staff were wonderful—attentive, warm, and patient with our language barrier. Thank you for the memorable culinary experience.

L’Escudella is one of my favorite spots in Paris! The food is always amazing, super fresh ingredients, creative dishes that actually surprise you (in a good way!), and everything is packed with flavor. Kevin is the best, he takes the time to walk you through every dish and wine pairing, always with a big smile and great energy. He’s also just really fun to chat with and makes sure you’re having a great time from start to finish. The whole team there is top-notch! Warm, professional, and on point. I go at least once a month because the menu keeps changing, and it’s always exciting to try something new. Plus, the neighborhood is super charming and quiet, perfect for a nice dinner. You can’t go wrong sitting inside or out. If you live in Paris or you’re just visiting, do yourself a favor and go. Seriously, it’s a gem.

We chose L’Escudella based on its high ratings and proximity to the Aura Les Invalides nighttime light show. We really enjoyed our meals. The staff were very accommodating, overfilling my wife’s wine glass to great hilarity, and insisting we stay for dessert. We were very glad we had the patience to enjoy our time and they insisted we return, which we will at our next opportunity.

Absolutely loved this restaurant — highly, highly recommend stopping by if you're in Paris. It seems like the menu changes regularly, so I can’t say for sure which specific dish to try, but I had the tuna and it was absolutely amazing — the texture was almost like beef, yet it wasn’t heavy or greasy at all. I’d been feeling a bit overwhelmed by rich French food after a week in Paris, and the staff gave me such thoughtful recommendations. Everything felt well-balanced and satisfying. I usually don’t write Google reviews for restaurants, but this place genuinely deserves it. Definitely worth a visit!

If I could give a higher review I would. Our last evening in France and this was the perfect send off. Wonderful food, perfect wine suggestion and immaculate service. Laurent was running the show. Fantastic human. So generous and warm. Made us all feel welcome and we all (four of us in the family) loved the experience! If you can...eat here. Well worth it!

Great place to have family or business dinner for small group. The service and meals are fantastic. I enjoyed a lot my tagliatelle with truffles or the aged beef to share. The poached pear was delicious but great feedback on the chocolate soufflé too!

Very nice food, staff and atmosphere. We will come back as it seems the menus if often updated.

On the food: - The tomato dish with mozzarella ice cream was innovative and perfectly executed. - The duck was classic and I loved the sauce. - The chocolate soufflé was classic but done well. Piping hot and a sparing use of sugar.

Yelp
We had a lovely evening and a delicious meal the service was attentive and helpful and the presentation was super pretty. It was an easy walk from our hotel near Rue Cler. Highly recommended

Yelp
I decided to go with the ala carte menu over the Pré fix (€48) menu. I had read many good reviews about this place and wanted to fully experience it. First course: French onion soup. It was delicious and the bread served was so so good. Second course: Foie Gras. This was my first time having Foie Gras and I'm glad I took the opportunity to try it here, in Paris. It was divine. I put it on the bread as well, and it was a perfect combo. Third course: Veal. The only reason I'm rating this restaurant as 4 instead of 5 is because I wish I had went with the crispy duck over the veal. I wasn't that crazy about it, but I still recognized it was very good. Forth and final course: Pistachio ice cream. So delicious. I was pretty full by the end, but I was so happy I ordered this.

Yelp
A friend had recommended this restaurant a year ago as the best restaurant meal he could remember, so we had high expectations. The experience was wonderful. The service was excellent, very courteous, and they told us some interesting background on the chef and some of the decorative plates and lights on the walls. We had a typical 3 course meal, along with the amuse bouche that were provided. The charcuterie plate with champagne was a nice starter. The onion soup entree was savory while the beetroot was quite a sweet entree. The mains of hare and lamb were excellent. We especially liked the pistachio dessert. An overall fine dining experience!!

Yelp
Incredible French dinner on our last night in Paris. We did the prefix menu of 5 courses for 48 Euros each with very pleasant & helpful attendance. Of course, everything freshly home made & tasted every bit that way. Excellent way to spend a romantic last night with my Sweetie!

Yelp
After a fun macaron baking class, we decided to try out this restaurant as recommended by our instructor. She had raved about the gazpacho (which I agree was very delicious and refreshing) and the freshness of the restaurant's ingredients. I tried the chicken which I heard was supposed to be super creamy but I didn't taste it. I wasn't a huge fan of this dish, probably because it was poached. The chicken alone is bland but pairs well with the sauce on the plate. Dessert was yummy, nothing over the top.

Yelp
We had a perfect late afternoon lunch at L'Escudella; it was one of the two best meals we had during a week in Paris in October. The menu selections were just unusual enough to be interesting without being too strange, the service was impeccable, and restaurant itself is lovely. L'Escudella is on our list of restaurants we plan to re-visit when we next return to Paris.
