"This 18C château is surrounded by listed grounds with many species of trees (including an Atlas cedar planted by the Queen Mother). Its restaurant has taken up residence in the luxurious-feeling salons laid out on the first floor; in summer, meals are served on the monumental terrace. The son of farmers from the Loire region, Marc Fontanne (formerly at Le Prieuré de Villeneuve-lès-Avignon) started learning the ropes from his brother, a butcher and charcutier, at a young age. He serves three tasting menus, one of which is completely vegetarian. Pressed lettuce with dehydrated olives, spring onions, green asparagus, lettuce cream, garlic croutons; carrot glazed in its carotene jus, cardamom purée, tangy sabayon; pain de Gênes with citrus fruit, orange marmalade, mousse and plant-based calisson ice cream. His dishes combine the freshness of local ingredients with playful, graphic plating and a subtle interplay of bitter, sweet and aniseed flavours (fennel, for example)." - Michelin Inspector

L'Orangerie du Château de Fonscolombe

"In a modern wing of Fonscolombe Castle, l’Orangerie is depicted by a smart, understated interior with exposed timber beams and bay windows opening onto the terrace and grounds. The chef’s elegant, well-crafted cuisine is rich in passing nods to the Mediterranean." - Michelin Inspector

Wonderful experience from start to finish! Excellent, attentive service. The staff did a great job explaining each dish and the wine pairings complimented each dish well. The venison and lobster dishes were highlights!

Disappointing experience unfortunately for a one star Michelin restaurant. Location is amazing with great scenery but service is quite poor (very slow, food / wine and bread arriving at different times - sometimes with 10+ minute delay with food getting cold - despite the “accord mets vins et pains”) and food was nice but not Michelin worthy. Would have been nice also to offer some more premium wines to go with the food, was quite basic.

We ate here on our first night staying at Chateau de Fonscolombe and had a wonderful meal. Sitting outside on the terrace we got a great view of the sprawling grounds while enjoying our dinner. The food was exceptional as well, particularly the vegetables - which were creatively done in ways we have never seen in the US. It’s a dining experience out of a scene in Downtown Abbey, but with better French food :)

Nothing great about it. Very flavorless. Anything from their really bad pastries. To there tasteless meat, pasta or anything really. Only thing that was nice (thanks to the peas purée that were literally full of butter and that’s why it was like a super creamy mash), were the grilled vegetables.

My recent visit to Restaurant l'Orangerie in Le Puy-Sainte-Reparade left me utterly amazed. From the elegant ambiance to the meticulously prepared dishes, every aspect of this dining experience was exceptional. The menu featured an array of seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, resulting in culinary creations that were nothing short of remarkable. Each bite offered a delightful explosion of flavors, leaving me longing for more. The service at l'Orangerie was impeccable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. The sommelier's expertise in wine pairing elevated the flavors even further. Restaurant l'Orangerie is a must-visit for those seeking an extraordinary culinary journey. With its refined ambiance, impeccable service, and exquisite cuisine, it surpassed all expectations.

Checked in to the hotel, didn’t want to spend $155/euro per person for dinner because we weren’t that hungry. Ordered 2 burgers and salad, waited over an hour, meat was to be “well “ and “well done”. This is the same kitchen that cooks for the other restaurant that has a Michelin rating. We expected tasty, cooked to order burgers. The first time the food came out, burgers were raw and red. We sent them back and the server guaranteed us that everything would be fine and they were still raw the second time, as you can see in the picture. The bun was burned, and we were so frustrated that we couldn’t help but write a review to warn other people about this terrible food experience. Apparently the standard for a Michelin rating doesn’t mean much- worst meal of our trip in Provence. Felt bad for our server who was visibly frustrated with the kitchen

L'Orangerie, nestled within the enchanting Chateau Fonscolombe, offers a truly exceptional dining experience that will leave you in awe. With its impeccable service, mouthwatering cuisine, and elegant atmosphere, this restaurant is a must-visit for those seeking a memorable meal. From the moment you step inside, the warm and attentive staff ensure that your experience is nothing short of perfect. I was particularly impressed with the Burrata appetizer, which was paired with incredibly fresh and flavorful tomatoes. This simple yet delightful combination showcased the restaurant's commitment to using high-quality ingredients in their dishes. The highlight of my visit to L'Orangerie was undoubtedly the Rack of Lamb, which was designed to be shared between two diners. Succulent, tender, and expertly prepared, this dish was nothing short of a culinary masterpiece. The accompanying sides complemented the dish perfectly, making it an unforgettable dining experience that I cannot recommend enough. In summary, L'Orangerie at Chateau Fonscolombe offers an exquisite dining experience that is sure to impress even the most discerning of palates. With its attentive service, delectable dishes, and elegant atmosphere, this restaurant is the perfect destination for a special occasion or a romantic evening.

Food 5 stars! Location 5 stars! Waiters 4 stars. Reason for the latter: in a place like this, crossing arms in front of the customer to save 5 seconds work, is out of the question. Which schools went all the waiters to and where is there supervisor to correct them? All together: correct value for money. Congrats to the chef!
