"A German chef, Turkish ingredients, and French soul add up to something special at Mabou. Chef-owner Cem Ekşi takes a different approach to the basic staples of Turkish cuisine, pairing carob molasses with ceviche, eggplant steak with a side of spicy tahini-dressed potatoes, sea bass with a milky bitter almond paste, and so on. His clever take on istakozlu kuru, a classic bean stew, comes with lobster meat and bisque. Ekşi changes the menu according to the best ingredients of the season, so there’s always a new surprise at this small, playful restaurant." - Tuba Şatana

A delicious and creative meal with great hospitality. Not Michelin starred but feels like a starred experience at a much lower price point. When I went only the 7-course tasting menu or a la carte were available. Do the tasting menu if only for the remarkable amuse-bouche (best tomatoes I've ever had). The beef ravioli is also a great meeting of tradition and modernity. The chef brings great personality to his dishes AND to the experience by coming out and personally telling you his story.

Don’t do yourself the disservice of not eating here on your visit. For a very reasonable price, you get a truly incredible meal, often brought out an explained by the chef himself. Each dish was an adventure! I highly recommend doing the tasting menu if you go. We didn’t do the wine pairing because my partner doesn’t drink, but the table next to us did and it looked amazing. Seems like the menu is fairly seasonal, but we loved the lamb and the sea bass.

Me ou is a very special place. This really small restaurant, with just a few tables inside - very cozy and intimate offers a set menu of 4/7/10 dishes of your choice, including a fully vegan menu. Beautifully presented plates, each dish full of flavour, interesting texture and chefs creativity. Some of them were very unique, and left a lasting impression. Service was so attentive and friendly, with patient explanation of each dish. I highly recommend!

We had a splendid dinner at Restaurant Mabou. Their ceviche has the perfect combination of sweet, sour, and salty flavors. The seabass with almond paste sauce is the most creative meal (in a delicious way), I've tasted recently. The staff is kind and friendly; you can tell they love their job. If you are in Istanbul, I highly recommend having dinner here.

Spectacular restaurant! The cocktails were delicious, the meal was perfectly prepared, and the servers were professional and attentive. Each detail of the experience was crafted: The bread was dark and fresh, the crust of the creme brûlée was hot and the custard was cool. The seating is very limited - but we were lucky to get a table without a reservation.

I would have given this place 10 star if the rating system allowed it. How could it not have any michelin star is beyond me (well michelin star has started turning into a joke lately so maybe it's a good thing). All the dishes we tried reflected exceptional standards of sophistication yet still tasty, filling, and more importantly, local. I am saying this as a world traveller living in London that this place is a hidden gem for gastronomic explorers. You should definitely try the tasting menu they have a separate vegan tasting menu. We went for the non-vegan one. My favourites were sebass and the neck with mushrooms. The chef (Cem) is obsessed with quality so personally selects all the ingredients from the local distributors himself (called hal and you need to be up around dawn to do that). Oh and special thanks to Deniz for his help to me in arranging a little surprise to my friend :) He's very helpful (and an excellent partner-in-crime lol)

Had lunch here by chance, I was truly surprised by this amazing find. Every dish here tasted fresh and well-made. I could feel the attention the chef gives to the al-dente pasta, the pesto sauce, the fresh flowers on the table. Nothing here is rushed, nothing ignored, nothing pretentious. Just simple, well-cooked modern Italian food. The chef does this by keeping to a small menu, and taking ownership of this intimate space.
