"Chef Tommy and maître d' Vera take you on a compelling culinary voyage in this characterful and stylishly designed building. She woos diners with her personable manner, he with his expressive homage to the terroir. Sourced as locally as possible, vegetables play an essential role here, lending depth to the dishes. This is a chef who cooks his ingredients to perfection, shows a light touch with fresh acidic flavours and has fun with temperatures and textures.Veal sweetbreads are briefly fried and then brushed with a reduced veal gravy. A fine brunoise of various vegetables provides a pleasing bite. Tender onion stuffed with Thai basil, strips of white onion and black truffle provide subtle aromatic touches. An excellent sauce based on veal gravy with citrus makes for a fine base. This is a chef who manages to translate interesting ideas into intensely flavoursome creations. The combination of miso and koji in a dessert with quince and chocolate demonstrates his mastery of flavour nuances.The wine list is equally impressive (you can see the wine cellar next to the restrooms), with a particular focus on Dutch and Belgian labels here too." - Michelin Inspector

Maeve is a pretty good restaurant, though I found the price-to-quality ratio slightly unbalanced. The service was good, but the real standout was the atmosphere: classy yet cozy, with a thoughtfully curated music selection that added to the overall vibe. One drawback was the table arrangement. The seating felt a bit too tight, and when the restaurant got busy, the noise from surrounding conversations somewhat disrupted the otherwise magical ambiance. The food was enjoyable for the most part. We loved most of the dishes, three were absolutely top-notch. One dish, however, had an overly strong fish flavor, reminiscent of when fish isn’t quite at its freshest. That said, another fish dish that my boyfriend got as a main course instead of the meat was exceptional. It was one of the most interestingly prepared fish dishes I’ve ever tasted: crispy on the outside, yet soft and juicy inside. The dessert, unfortunately, didn’t leave much of an impression. It felt more like a mishmash of components than a cohesive dish. On a more positive note, the wine list was extensive and impressive. Overall, I would recommend Maeve. Despite a few minor flaws, it remains one of the best fine-dining options Utrecht has to offer. Also, it has a Michelin star.

The food was good but there were 2 plates that I tasted too salty, that's was pity because taste good but the oversalted the vegetables was not good, this make me cannot enjoy the menu as I wanted. I feel a little disappointed for this kind of restaurant, do not check very well each plate( was not only me plate, was from my sister too) we we have 2 times salty food. Paring wine was good, I really enjoy same as not alcoholic drinks. Thanks to the sommelier for the recommendations. Service was good but I did not like that always want to fill up your water glass, we did not wanted because we wanted to know how much bottle we are drinking, that part i did not like, will be better if they leave the bottle in your table so you know how much you are drinking.

We had the pleasure of enjoying a 6-course dinner with wine pairing at Maeve. Each dish was beautifully presented and filled with surprising flavors and the wines complemented them perfectly. The staff was incredibly service-oriented, knowledgeable, and welcoming. Everything was thoughtfully planned down to the finest detail. After visiting most fine-dining restaurants in Utrecht, we can say with certainty that Maeve is among our favorites. If you're looking for a standout dining experience in Utrecht, Maeve is definitely a place to visit!

Playful presentation of flavors, in-between formal and cosy atmosphere. The best of all? Quality selection of wine! Team Maeve do put in attention to represent the Netherlands not only in tastes of food but also the sinful liquid that puts smile on your face. Do ask the sommelier to recommend some Dutch local wines - was so lovely to explore!

One word: Perfection. The food, the wine, the atmosphere, the staff, perfection. Highly recommend. All the combinations of textures in the dishes, the subtle flavour nuanses, it all came together perfectly. Everything in the dishes complimented each other, even to the smallest detail.

A gem in a city that isn’t known for its culinary tradition. Interesting flavours, good use of local produce en great wine pairing. The chef and sommelier are not afraid to experiment. Knowledgeable staff. Nice and laid-back. I might be wrong, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they are down for a Michelin star in a year or two…

Maeve after a number of visits still the best restaurant in Utrecht from my point of view. Great food with very nice vegetables and acidity balance / freshness, top wine list and love both the maitre and sommelier. Glad they have a michelin star now as recognition.

It's a fresh experience, the food, the atmosphere. Not like others they focus on the real pure taste. No over seasoning or too much sauces to impress everyone 's taste buds. They have a wide range wine selection, only pity it's on the pricy side. It's a raising star restaurant in the city centre, a hidden gem with the potential.
