MaThy'S

"Picture a red façade preceded by a delightful patio shaded by a mulberry tree. On a street corner of Saint Florent, this eatery aims for a friendly village restaurant vibe and serves Mediterranean and Corsican cuisine (carpaccio of langoustines, olive oil and dried caviar, tartare of red tuna or grilled squid with chorizo), without forgetting a few more exotic Asian notes (yuzu-flavoured gyoza or crunchy king prawns, nori and wasabi). Simpler lunchtime menu and a highly tempting wine list add the final touch to this inviting portrait." - Michelin Inspector

My partner ordered the lasagna, and it came out smelling absolutely rancid. We could barely stomach a single bite and asked for it to be taken away and they offered nothing in exchange and charged us full price when they themselves know that was disgusting. I can imagine it’s because we’re tourists that they feel no obligation to correct their service but I couldn’t be more disappointed in a restaurant when on a dream vacation here in Corsica. Edit: a few minutes after posting my initial review, I became so nauseous I had to run back into the restaurant where I became violently ill. After throwing up majority of my Nero risotto, I had to make my way back to my hotel room quickly to throw up the rest. I’m so disappointed in the women who served us as they were extremely friendly in the beginning and I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, but they then didn’t come to check on me at all and didn’t offer any apology.

The saga continues. After we ordered the lobster ravioli (that we were charged for while we were served pork gyoza) i returned my veal lasagna after a tiny bite. It smelled rancid and it tasted rancid. They charged me for it and didn’t even ask why we were returning it. There’s no element of this dish that resembled lasagna except for the rock hard sheet of pasta they plonked on top of it. My partner proceeded to eat his nero risotto with octopus (I took one bite of the risotto and told him it was very fishy). We had been out of the restaraunt for ten minutes when my partner became very ill and we had to run back and he threw up violently in their bathroom. Despite coming to investigate the sound, when he emerged they said nothing, nor did they even inquire about what went wrong. These are rude charlatans who served rotten food to tourists simply because they knew we wouldn’t fight in French (my partner speaks decent conversational French only). They proudly show their Michelin star from 2018 outside. I’m not a serious foodie at all, but I’ve eaten at enough Michelin star restaurants to know that one main dish returned and another projectile vommitted is a scam. AVOID.

Gourmet dishes for very good value for money. We went for lunch and had a 19€ menu with 3 courses, all of which were super delicious.

We enjoyed lunch at this restaurant while recently on holiday in Corsica, they welcomed 7 of us without a booking at lunch time (we go their at 12:30 I think any later they would have been full) and though they didn't have a specific kids menu they made the children some pasta which they enjoyed. The set lunch was great and we would recommend it to friends.

We stopped there for lunch. Their shaded terrace is a very cosy place, but the real highlight is the food. I have taken langoustines (very interesting concept to serve them as sth between carpaccio and ceviche) and octopus pasta (prolly the best octopus I have had on the island, also the pasta itself was very good), while my wife opted for a menu consisting of burrata and cannelloni au brocciu (the restaurant is quite pricy, but the lunch menu was surprisingly cheap for St. Florent (if I recall correctly sth around 22 Euro). She claims that it was the best canelloni she tried during the stay in Corsica (out of three). So, all in all, we highly recommend this place.

For sure you are confusing me. Anyway, your reply is not customer focused. Please consider to respect closing hours and in the future, when someone is arriving 45 minutes before closing time, at least ask them if they are there for a drink or anything else possible to offer in the remaining time. By the way, after I left your place, I went to Pizza Costa (next to you). They have the same closing time as you, but they welcomed me and still offered something till their closing hours. You can check - I gave them a good rating on Google Maps.

Great restaurant, the food is amazingly tasty and remains generous. I really enjoyed my dinner and my time with my family here. It's small, cosy and the team is really committed to bring something fresh and unique to the village. I recommended this place to à dozen people and they all enjoyed it as much as I did. All the best guys, please keep going!
