We came here for a weekday lunch. I strongly recommend making reservations in advance because we waited for more than 20 minutes to be seated although a couple of tables were empty. They have a modest fusion menu that varies from Mediterranean cuisine to seafood and tartare. The decoration of the restaurant is very cute and cozy, it has bigger tables for gatherings and also high bar chairs if you want to bring your laptop and work there. The service is rather slow though and might not be efficient during a work- day lunchtime. We ordered “Hummus with Pita”, Chicken Skewers with Tzatziki”, “Fattoush Salad” and “Seasoned Fish”. Hummus and salad were really good. Chicken skewers tasted okay, but fish wasn’t seasoned enough and was smelly. I would definitely love to try their weekend brunch.

We went for weekend brunch on Saturday (highly recommend making reservations as this place is always busy). It's a fantastic atmosphere to have brunch in, light and airy with lots of greenery that contrasts nicely to the snow outside. We ordered chai latte, hot chocolate and jasmine tea and the pancakes (they came with coffee syrup and were orange flavored). The pancakes were truly amazing. Service was very pleasant. Overall a very enjoyable brunch spot in the Old Port.

super meh. interior is nice but service was awful. we were 3 and we sat for 15 min before getting water lol. server said she was "going to find some water" ?? went once for breakfast, was fine. went once for lunch, was fine. for the price, go somewhere else. its a corporate lunch break spot and the vibes are just off.

Honestly one of the best brunch place in Montreal !! (And I’ve tasted a lot of them lol) The salmon toasts are super fresh - the cream cheese and lemon are an amazing combo.we also had some ricotta & fruit pancakes that were super fluffy and fulfilling I’ve been there so many times I can’t count! Definitely recommend for brunch, as well as for the pastries (especially the chocolate croissant)

This place rockkkss omg. The service was beyond amazing and friendly. Must order items: - Endive salad - the pasta of the day (anchovy butter clam pasta) was actually incredible - Dessert (they change but the chocolate peanut butter tart was so so amazing) The falafel was good but nothing too crazy. It’s the perfect vibe for a nice dinner or date. Very vibey and wonderful lighting. Everything is meant to be shared. They have an extensive cocktail menu. It would be hard to eat here for under $45.

In summer time, great terrace with a nice fountain next to it, very friendly and caring staff, delicious burger which recently added to their menu! Indoor area is also pretty and nicely decorated. This year I celebrated my birthday for brunch here and enjoyed alot! Chakshuka was super tasty and good! Service was fantastic, I can say everything was awesome! Thank you!

The dish did not disappoint, with warm and fluffy pita bread serving as the perfect accompaniment to perfectly cooked eggs and a flavorful tomato sauce. Of course, no brunch is complete without a good cup of coffee, and this spot certainly delivers on that front. The coffee was fresh and aromatic, the perfect complement to our meal.

Every entree was perfection to my taste buds. Service was top notch and friendly. Ambiance was lovely, each table had a unique feel and I love the design of the bar areas. This will definitely be a favorite MUST whenever we visit Montreal again!

We were unaware that their brunch menu is only on the weekends which sucked because that was the only reason we came. We decided to stay anyways since we were starving but we didn't care for the menu. Very heavy on the seafood and Lacked flavor. The salad however was pretty tasty and would definitely recommend for the vegetarians. Aside from that, if you aren't a seafood fan I'd skip.

I was so so excited to try this restaurant, as I heard great things about their brunch menu (and specifically their pancakes), but was sorely disappointed upon hearing that their entire menu had changed. It seems like they shifted mainly to lunch options over typical breakfast/brunch items, and I wasn't aware of this before booking my reservation. However, the food here was still very delicious and felt super fresh and luxurious. The servers and overall restaurant atmosphere were also very great, and they went above and beyond in every way. It's definitely a pricier place to eat, but you can tell in the quality they provide.

A lovely place to have lunch. Beautiful restaurant and patio, and friendly and attentive service. The food was excellent. Got the pasta special which was a delicious bolognese. But the flatbread and hummus was truly special.

We've been to Melisse several times over the last year. Our first experience was outside just before Christmas 2020. We had our Golden Retrievers with us and sat outside under a space heater. The food and wine were fantastic but what really keeps us coming back is the staff. Caroline is so warm and welcoming, it always feels like going home for dinner when we walk in. The chefs and staff are also super friendly and service is top notch. Tonight Barb and I sat at the bar and enjoyed a Mediterranean inspired tapas menu. All the dishes were fresh and packed with flavour: flatbread, falafel, skewered chicken, beet salad and finally a huge portion of mussels. It was fun sharing the dishes and sipping bubbly! I wish I would have taken a picture of the beautiful interior space, it was elegantly appointed and softly lit with candles. The ambiance was completed with a surprising 70's funk/soul playlist that was really cool! Wow what a great vibe! I really love this place. The food, the wine list, the ambiance, the people...what a great experience!

I've been wanting to try out Mélisse's lunch menu for quite a while, so was super pumped to try out their lunch menu! Before getting to food, I was really happy to hear that they had a great light orange wine perfect for the afternoon! Now onto food, I tried the salmon tartare, the lamb meatballs and pasta, the baked fish, the endive salad, the special fried fish, and the grilled mushroom plate. I really liked the first three dishes and would recommend. Service was impeccable, and their matcha latte to end the meal was perfection! All in all, looking forward to come back for brunch on the weekend!

A really great brunch spot in the heart of Griffintown. Service is EXCELLENT, food is also very very good , vibe is so nice so so would definitely come back. Shakshuka was excellent 5/5 : perfect balance of tangy tomatoes and creamy feta, soft eggs and crunchy bread. Mimosas were amazing 5/5 (and generous in size) Pancakes were tasty (like a cake almost) and really well presented - not my favourite, but that could just be me 4/5. Friends on my table had the salmon toast and classic brunch. Both were very happy although I can't comment on the taste :) Their tea selection is from camellia sinensis - extra bonus points just for that!

The service was impeccable. Only to be topped by the food. The crudo was amazingly delicious. We had such a good time we went twice during our visit. The menu is small but diverse and the wine list was exceptional. I thoroughly enjoyed this space that was as romantic as open to friend groups. Just a top notch experience all around and I would definitely recommend this place when in Montreal

Great atmosphere and location. Food and service were excellent! Tried endive salad, chicken skewers, & beef kofta special- all were tasty and well seasoned, endive salad was delicious!

We walked here for breakfast because it appeared to be wheelchair accessible. Unfortunately when we arrived, despite Yelp saying they were open, they were closed.

Mélisse was incredible! As an American and my first time in Canada I found this restaurant on yelp and it did not disappoint. Our waiter was incredible and the food was even better! Great place to share a couple of plates! Would definitely come back again!!

My husband and I had brunch here recently. The food was good, albiet pricey since the portions were so small. The ambiance is trendy and a bit froufrou. It was full of yuppies and DINKs (just being descriptive and not perjorative because we actually fit into both these categories, lol). The menu is only in French, so good thing nous sommes bilingues because otherwise the server would have had to explain the whole menu to us, like he did for the pair sitting at the table next to us. Why not have a bilingual menu and save the staff the hassle? Anyway, I had the green beans, mushrooms and bacon salad ($8) and my husband had the egg salad on toast with a side salad ($11), he added bacon to this for an additional $2. My salad was tasty but really tiny. I should have also asked for the dressing on the side because it was drenched in oil. Also the menu said there were potatoes in my salad but there were no potatoes of any form in my salad. Despite these shortcomings, I enjoyed my salad. The saltiness of the cheese and bacon really complemented the sweetness of the green beans and the different textures in the salad were excellent. My husband enjoyed his meal, although I noticed that his toast was burnt. The bacon was thickly sliced and looked delicious. I had a taste of the egg salad and it tasted whipped and fluffy. My husband had a coffee ($2) and the sugar they give you are cubes shaped like card suits (although mostly hearts and clubs). I thought this was super cute. It's really loud in there though, but I'm great at tuning other people out, haha, so we still had a good time. Service was courteous and efficient. I was hungry again shortly after, but it was still an enjoyable experience.

So many great things to say about this family owned five star gem. Seasonal, locally grown food cooked to perfection. We hoped to sit on the patio but the weather was questionable earlier in the day. Despite that the owner, Caroline set up outdoor tables just for us. We love female owned businesses! What a lovely patio with plants and strings of lights. Needless to say other diners wanted to eat out there too even though it was a bit chilly. The firepit made it especially comfy for all of us. The food was just outstanding from start to finish. Salome was our server and the daughter of the owner. Salome was just a delight and showed a level of passion that's hard to find. She suggested the seasonal cocktail made from the juice of locally grown cantaloupe crushed in-house. It was delicate and so good! As a sommelier she really knows her wines and selected some excellent pairings to go with our food. The food...wow! We started with the endive salad. Super fresh and delicious. Not too much dressing, not too little. We also shared the locally grown oyster mushrooms charred and perfectly seasoned. Every bite was remarkable. No sauce covering up the mushrooms just pure mushroom heaven. My husband had the pasta of the day. It's made fresh everyday and changes daily. Today casarecce with corn, peas and chanterelles. My husband's from Italy and loved this dish! I had the Arctic char. Unforgettable. Perfectly cooked and the flavor was balanced with a hint of heat. Fantastic! We ended our meal with perfectly prepared cappuccinos and a deconstructed peach crumble with apricot and a vanilla mint ice cream. Everything about our experience was amazing. I can't wait to return to this gem!

The food and service here were impeccable. Open after 5 pm normally, I dined here for weekend brunch with a friend: The menu was original, fresh, and delicious. Service was impeccable and friendly. Place was packed so a reservation is definitely needed, and if you're looking for a quiet place this was not it, but it was nevertheless enjoyable. Superb wine collection including natural and local choices. Will definitely be back.

Once I saw the name of this place, I HAD to come here! I ended up coming for brunch on a weekend, and while it was definitely busy, it was still really easy to get a table for our party of 2. They have quite a bit of seating both indoors & outdoors, and the space is super cute! We tried the brunch tartine & the Melisse casserole. The brunch tartine was good but the Melisse casserole was amazing. It reminded me a lot of shakshuka and was a lot more flavorful than you'd expect. One of the dishes (can't remember which one) also came with a side salad, which was possibly the best side salad I've had: it came with the perfect amount of dressing so that it was flavorful but not soggy at all. The coffee here is also really good!

Breathtaking and illuminating spot to have delicious brunch. The restaurant is simply beautiful with easygoing but elegantly decorated. We came in for Saturday morning brunch, and we were received enthusiastically. The restaurant was very busy; it took a while for our waitress to attend us but after taking our orders, our dishes arrived promptly. Every single item was presented beautifully, and each item was delicious starting with our smoothie, strawberry mimosa, banana hazelnut bread and fried egg, cheese and salmon sandwich. We devoured everything happily. The prices are steep but the quality is superior. Definitely, this place is a must.

Amazing dinner! The decor and design were gorgeous and the food was exceptional! We tried a little of of nearly everything on the menu and shared. The desserts were also fantastic. We had the most delicious vanilla sour cream ice cream with poached pear and a financier and a multi-layer patisserie that was out of this world! We will definitely return!

Best brunch ever! Presentation and interior were gorgeous and the pancakes were absolutely amazing. Best thing I've tasted in recent memory! The ricotta, maple syrup and fruit with light and fluffy pancakes? Chefs kiss. And service was very attentive!

We stumbled across this restaurant on yelp and decided to give it a try before heading back to Toronto for breakfast. I loved the decor it was so cute with all the plants and the service was good. We had the Tartine Martin, Sandwich Dejeuner/with ham & a smoothie. Everything tasted great and fresh, perfect for breakfast.

Delicious food but disappointed in the drinks. We got the salmon tartine and the porchetta tartine. They were both served on a bread that had a strong grilled flavor and it was great. The salmon was fresh and complimented the veggies and sauce well. The porchetta was very soft and perfectly salty. We got the lemonade and the iced tea. They were both extremely diluted and it felt like drinking flavored water. As for the service, it was great and the food came quickly. The place is quite big and it's nicely decorated with plants. Would definitely come back for the tartine.

So pretty and peaceful here despite MAJOR construction going on all around them. Some days I actually long for winter. A cabbie once told me there is only two seasons in Montreal...winter and construction. Very clever, Mr. Cab Driver. Wanted to try this place forever and this week I've been twice! The breakfast tartine with salted salmon was small but amazing! The chai was on the sweet side. I'm finding that many places use a ready made mix from a carton which is disappointing. Not sure if that's the case here, but it was sweet. I prefer a spicy chai. Another day, I came in just for coffee while waiting for the rain to lighten up. The service both times were great! I can imagine how hectic it could be for brunch as it is a very beautiful space, elegant but not stuffy. I got to enjoy its serenity during their off time. Great space to do a little work or just daydream.

The food was okay, the chakchouka nothing special. The ambience was nice, pretty restaurant. I didn't find the service too good (they seemed overwhelmed) and some items are actually more expensive than what it says in the menu (mimosa).

This place was absolutely one of the highlights of our Montreal trip! From the decor to their delicious meals, I wish I could give them more than 5 stars! For a week we were staying in Montreal, we ended up going to this place twice and we weren't disappointed at all. Let's start with their delicious Latte. My husband and I are coffee snobs and I couldn't find anything to complain about their coffee! It was so good and really really smooth. The first time we were there, I ordered Wild Argentina Shrimps with grilled pineapple and soup of the day (split pea soup) while my husband had breakfast tartine and we both really enjoyed our brunch. I had some dessert which ended up being quite sweet, but I didn't really mine since we were on vacation. On our last day in Montreal, we went their for breakfast and I had this amazing banana bread and smoothie. As writing this, I can't even stop thinking about how good everything was and dreaming of my next visit! Bonus point: I love their bathroom! Absolutely clean and organized. They also have TV in it. I love the soap they use -- environment conscious and smelled really nice! Their staff was also top-notch! I think these awesome things I mentioned should be enough for anyone to give this place a try!

My weekends usually consist of trying out new brunch places and on one rainy Saturday I stumbled upon Mélisse with a friend. Everything about their decor is beautiful, there are cute corners everywhere you look and it's obvious they put a lot of thought into the design. The staff is very friendly and attentive, although a bit slow at times. Okay, so let me tell you about the food. I got the pain poêlé. It's similar to French toast, it was served with a lavender crème. It was absolutely delicious and not overly sweet. Some people may think the portions are too small but it's a perfect portion and you won't be left feeling stuffed and uncomfortable. I've been here multiple times and you definitely don't want to miss out on their pastries. Everything from their croissants to their scones are absolute perfection. Add one of their delicious coffees for a full course and you'll be left daydreaming about this meal for weeks to come. I'd definitely recommend and Mélisse is a welcome new favourite to the Montréal brunch scene.

Melisse is a modern place where you can enjoy a coffee break with a friend. The design is really minimalistic with a touch of modernism, the ceiling is high, the place is white, and The terrasse is wide. The food is not to die for. I went today with my mom for lunch. We ordered the mezze tapas or they call them " les a cotes ". Overall the food doesn't meet my expectations as they were high! The soup du jour was a dried tomato soup with beans and Parmesan. Nothing fancy. The grilled salmon with pineapple is fine. The kafta was bit dry, the bavette with chimichurry was good and tasty (for a $9 plate) and the epautre salad with eggplants was tasteless. On the coffee side, I tried the latte and it's fine. The service was very decent. The waiter and the hostess are very friendly wich gave me a very good impression.

Wow. There are no words. This restaurant was so awesome. Great service and best food I've eaten in a while. I will be thinking about my meal for the next few years or my life. A true culinary experience. 10/10.

Pleasantly stumbled upon this place for brunch after visiting an art gallery nearby. We sat at the counter and enjoyed friendly but non-intrusive service. A few weeks later I'm still thinking about the main dish I had, which was one of the most satisfying brunch dishes I've had in recent memory: sausages and green lentils with poached eggs and a side of grilled bread. All of the pastries in the glass case by the window looked tasty, too!

This quaint little resto located in the old port has a super cute outdoor space too. We opted to stay indoors; the space was modern with touches of vintage chic, comfy chairs and a great laid back vibe. We ordered their strawberry mimosas and the casserole Melisse; if it's named after the resto, it must be good, right? Slight mixup with our drink order was readily rectified and although the mimosa lacked in alcohol, it was still light and refreshing, The casserole with potato, ham, mushrooms, cheddar, a fried egg and sourdough bread was perfect! Great flavour thanks to the harissa, nicely perfected and presented. Portion was just right as was the price for this part of town I would totally return to this spot for brunch; although a little out of the way from core Old Montréal, I enjoyed the food and feel of this cosy resto. Perfect way to start off a lazy Sunday.

Great dinner made with locally sourced ingredients. We enjoyed everything we ordered at Melisse. The homemade pita, both salads and the fish were all very well done. The decor and ambiance are really nice. A good find for a dinner spot

This place is now one of my favourites in all of Montreal! The decor is sooooo nice, the staff is friendly, service was quick and we didn't even have to wait for brunch on a Sunday. I had the summer salad with zucchini and Quebec strawberries and it was sooooo good. I'm a huge salad fanatic and this one gets on top of the list for sure!

We had an incredible dining experience at Melisse last night! We were in town celebrating a friends wedding and organized the bachelorette dinner here. We had a group of about 14 and they were very accommodating. We had called prior to ask if they would separate the checks and they were wonderful about it. The food was incredible. They have two appetizer options, two entree options, a few meat and cheese board options, and a dessert menu. The menu seemed to be mostly seafood the night we were there. Thanks for the great experience for our group!

I am so glad I got a chance to enjoy a breakfast here during our visit, beautiful airy space, we did not have a reservation( definitely recommended) but our gracious host put us by the window on the other side of the main dining room, worked out great since we had a stroller. Great choice of dishes for every taste, I opted out for a egg salad tartiné and added gravlax salmon to it, absolutely delicious!(obsessed) Got a smoothie to go as well. Will definitely come back if in town.

My friend and I had breakfast here and loved it. The atmosphere is gorgeous and the staff is so kind. They even let us decide which table we preferred. I ordered the green juice which was delicious, as well as the breakfast sandwich and cappuccino. It was all so good and presented beautifully. My friend had the shakshuka and agreed it was wonderful. This was the perfect brunch spot and if ever I am in Montreal again its one of the first restaurants I'd go back to!

Melisse is a hidden gem in Montreal and I feel like I almost don't want to review it so that it remains my little secret. I went here to meet my friend's roommate two Sundays ago after we finished brunch at my apartment. We weren't very hungry but decided to order coffees while our friend ate her brunch. I had the most adorable chai latte and wish that I would have tried the food. The ambiance is divine; it definitely does not feel like you're in cold Montreal when you're inside. The large, garage style windows let in so much light and the greenery makes you feel like you're in a warmer climate. There was a group of bougie women who decided to have a photoshoot in there (they even brought a photographer)! It is a sweet spot for a very girly brunch and I recommend it; although getting a table is tough. Be sure to make a reservation or come early.

cute - an adorable place for you to visit with someone you like quite simple in terms of decor so if that is your thing, thi sis your place food was reasonably good

We enjoyed a lovely dinner at Meliisse. We started with oysters from PEI. They were accompanied by a mignonette with tomato paste, different but brilliant with the oysters. We had shrimps and scallops for our main course. Both were perfectly cooked. We shared a brownie ala mode for dessert amd it was sublime. The service was excellent. Fabulous!

I've been to Melisse a couple of times and I've never been disappointed. Not only is the food great but the place is stylized very nicely. The service is one of the best in Montreal and the coffee is a local Toronto roast that is perfectly handled by the barista.

Nice place decor-wise. The place is clearly new and needs a LOT of practice. Friendly service but inefficient and slow. Food is good but the plates are small and heads up, you'll pay $2 for a slice of bread.
