Montreal’s Uyghur Restaurant Scene Keeps Growing - Eater Montreal

"Abdul Samad removes the tandoor lid to inspect his samsas. This is Restaurant Miran, located in a Saint-Laurent strip mall near the future Bois-Franc REM station. When it opened in December, it became Montreal’s fourth Uyghur restaurant." - Christopher DeWolf

This is undoubtedly one of the best halal restaurants in the area. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff is not only friendly but also exceptionally attentive to even the smallest details, ensuring that every guest has a pleasant dining experience. The food is truly remarkable, with rich and authentic flavors that remain consistent with each visit. Every dish is carefully prepared using high-quality ingredients, making for a delightful and satisfying meal. Whether you are trying their signature dishes or exploring new items on the menu, the taste and presentation never disappoint. The only minor drawback is that the temperature inside the restaurant can sometimes feel a bit warm, particularly during busy hours. However, this does not significantly impact the overall experience. In summary, this restaurant consistently delivers excellent service, a welcoming ambiance, and outstanding food, making it a top choice for anyone looking to enjoy a high-quality halal dining experience.

Incredible food. We've never had Uyghur food before and were blown away. The portions were very generous ( don't order the Big Chicken Plate unless you have friends or someone to help with that). The hand pulled noodles were fantastic, and the beef dumplings were so incredible and juicy. Highly recommend this restaurant

The service and the food tasted pretty good but the menu has limited choices as some dishes have to be pre- ordered 24 hours in advance.

I'm glad to have found this amazing place. First, when you go in, the ambiance is amazing. A nice ,super clean and comfortable place. It has many traditional decorations all over. It makes you feel like it's hugging you. After you have a very friendly welcome by one of the staff. They set you to a table and give you some time to explore the menu. This is good because the food is not like anything i had before. So it was nice to discover. After we asked for help regarding what would order and the girl explained everything to us and gave us great recommendations. We only had enough time to look at the beautiful interior design and go wash our hands before the food started to come. Btw the bathroom is very clean. Now the food was amazing. It felt like it was something done at home by your grandma. Even though it was our first time having this kind of food, it felt very familiar. The noodles we fresh and very very tasty. And the lamb sticks were so tender. Note: do not order spicy, they provide you with a bowl of spice on the table. Use that instead. Because just a bit is more than enough. I want to say more but i prefer letting you explore this amazing restaurant by your self. Enjoy

Went their with my friends to give it a try and was not disappointed what so ever. The service was nice and pleasant, the food was good, like really good. Especially the handmade noodles with lamb and the iron skillet. The lamb was soooooo tender, juicy and packed with flavour. The dumplings were not my thing personally but would definitely come again.

We had a very good time and it was my first time having uyghur food. The hand made noodles are exceptional and the portions are generous. Everything we took tasted good.

The decor is unique, related to their culture. The staff helped us understand the menu and was well informed. The food quality & taste was amazing. I had Dry stir-fried beef Laghman, Lamb Kabab Skewers, Petir Manta & hot iron plate beef. The only down part, most of their chicken options were unavailable except their big chicken dish.

Yelp
It was interesting to try a new type of chinese food! Combination of turkish/northern chinese. The decoration was nice with the turkish lights. Tried the different signature dishes, had different type of lamb dishes. Halal as well. Tried different spices! Price was higher than expected though.

Yelp
Delightful spot for those craving authentic Uyghur cuisine. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a welcome in this unpretentious restaurant located in VSL. We tried the Pilov (lamb), the tandoori nan bread and the special Uyghur drink. I need to mention the salad that accompanies the Pilov dish, just YUMMMM! And the carrot rice is just so delicious - I can't explain it! Can't wait to go back to try their Kebabs. If you're in search of a culinary adventure, Miran is the place to be. It's a hidden gem serving up amazing Uighur dishes that will leave you craving more.

Yelp
Tucked away in a suburb, this family-owned restaurant, less than 20 minutes from downtown, is well worth the trip. Tender lamb skewers, tasty soups and Uyghur bread, and an extensive menu beyond these allow a wide set of choices. Beautiful decor and music from West Asia: You'll feel like you're in a fancy place in East Turkestan itself (okay, the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region). I saw that Miran is popular among expat Chinese, who are picky about Uyghur cuisine in North America because they've experienced the real thing before arriving here. Check the hours first but give it a try!

Yelp
Found this place by fluke and what a great find. Cumin lamb was just like china. Only a little more oiler. Lamb kabab was very tender.

Yelp
Excellent food, service atmosphere and value! The daily family dish specials (1/2 price) are unbelievable.
