Nok Nok

"Nok means ‘bird’ in Thai, which makes sense when you spot the two stone owls set into the stonework. With its central location and two spacious, colourfully decorated dining rooms, this is a popular place to eat both amongst locals and visitors. Authentic Thai flavours are sure to warm you up on colder days and you’ll find all your Thai favourites, from a wonderful chicken satay with sweet and sour pickles to rich curries, such as a Massaman made using braised short ribs. Be sure to save room for dessert though, as the sticky rice with mango is superb." - Michelin Inspector

This Thai restaurant came highly recommended, so we decided to give it a try. With all the compliments we had heard, our expectations were pretty high. The starters were very good! The duck spring rolls and papaya salad were excellent and right amount of spiciness. Unfortunately, the satay chicken skewers were disappointing. They tasted more like steamed or oven-baked chicken rather than grilled, which made the texture a bit off and dry. For the main dishes, we ordered the chef’s special lamb massaman curry and fried fish and sadly, both fell short. The curry was overly sweet and didn’t taste like a traditional Thai curry at all. The fried fish reminded us of sweet and sour chicken, just with fish. The dishes were also lukewarm... Overall, the starters were nice, but the main dishes fell short. Considering the prices, the quality was underwhelming. Not my cup of tea, unfortunately.

Absolutely amazing food. Was there on a monday and the service was perfect, helped us with everything we needed. We got the fried mushrooms as a starter and the lamb curry and the sweet whole fish as mains and non of it disappointed. Portions were too big for us so we were able to take a box home afterwards with some free extra rice. It's a little on the expensive side but worth it if you love real Thai food

Quite possibly THE best Thai food I’ve eaten! Wow! We broke our rule of only dining at the same restaurant once while on holidays. We ate here lunch one day and then, two days, later ate lunch there again. We shared a vegan version of the papaya salad on both days, which was so incredible and maybe the hottest thing I’ve ever eaten! Clean high quality fresh ingredients. For my main, I had a vegan Pad Thai one day and the second visit, I had the fried aubergine and rice. Wow. Both were amazing. The staff were so friendly - the best we experienced in Tallinn. We were properly taken care of. The decor is fresh, colourful, modern and sophisticated. Were used to eating at really nice restaurants and this holds up in every way. 5/5, no hesitation!

Brilliant Thai food in Tallinn. Really amazed by the food quality. Here is what we ordered for the group of 5 - Both the soup options available (veg versions) - hits the spot esp tom kha - papaya salad - amazing - pad Thai and some green spicy curry (brilliant again) Cherry on top - deep fried ice cream, again very pleasantly surprised and would definitely recommend To note- it is slightly on the expensive side but it’s totally worth it

Excellent lunch in Tallinn. Crispy prawn cakes and ”Drunken” rice noodles with chicken. Quite the best Thai food I have eaten in a restaurant. Good service and nice, quiet atmosphere during lunch time. Attentive and friendly service.

Great thaifood with good and attentive service. I had the green curry with prawns and the deep-fried fish with pineapple, basil, tomatoes and grapes. Can highly recommend the fish.
