Restaurant Normandin Rivière-du-Loup

Ordered a pizza that was more like a soup. Couldn't eat it in any capacity while at the hotel next door. Don't know if it was undercooked or cooked from frozen but it was an extraordinary waste of money.

Awful and disgusting! By far the worst experience of our entire trip. From the moment you step in, you're made to feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. No one greets you at the entrance. Instead, you're met with a rude, visibly annoyed manager who yells at you for choosing the "wrong" table — as if you’re a burden rather than a guest. The waitress couldn’t be bothered with basic manners — no “please,” no “enjoy your meal,” nothing. She literally dropped the dishes on the table while continuing a conversation with another customer, completely ignoring us. And the most shocking part? They were openly mocking English-speaking customers. If that’s how they treat people, they might as well hang a sign on the door saying, “We don’t serve English speakers.” We traveled through many provinces, and never have we felt so disrespected and unwanted. The manager should be fired immediately — zero hospitality, zero professionalism. Avoid this place at all costs. You're better off grabbing a ready-made meal from a grocery store — it’ll be a far more pleasant experience!

Restaurant mostly empty (as per picture)told to wait 5-10 min for a table for 5. After 15 min, they had seated 3 groups behind us which was starting to be insulting. Left after 20 mim wait for another restaurant. Unlikely to go again, understands the low reviews now. Just so you know, I did try to contact them at their email as they stated in the answer to this review and they didn’t follow up at all. Just making us believe that they do care when they obviously don’t.

I would rate this place zero stars if I could. Despite waiting for 30 minutes, no one bothered to offer us even water. The entire place was disgustingly filthy at 7:30 pm, with remnants of lunch and coffee mugs scattered across all tables. The waiters were too busy chatting among themselves to care about the customers. It's evident that they do not uphold basic sanitary standards here. I even took pictures to document how bad it was.

Had a nice dinner and breakfast here. Service was good and the food was good and reasonably priced. Ideally located close to the campground. Would recommend.

The pizza was very good. Pizza came with a salad $21 4 pcs of pizza, we split it Ordered another salad and 2 Pepsi, bill was $42 Expensive

The pizza is hard and tasteless. It's a frozen pizza that is reheat only and the salad is very small portions. Expensive 😞

This is a Quebec chain, and about what you'd expect for a chain restaurant Hamburger steak with mashed potato: steak was a bit tough but good. Autumn set: Squash soup had run out so got chicken noodle instead. It was good: full of ingredients. Meat pie was decent & served with a good fruity chutney. Vegetables were OK - just boiled. Apple pecan pie was decent. It was filo style not with a short crust. The vanilla ice cream it was served with was rich & creamy though it was light on the vanilla taste.

This is the first time I have ever dined at a Normandin so the review may not be specific to this location in Riviere du Loup. I stepped in and had no idea what to expect but I wouldn't come back unless I had no other choice. We came when it was rather late in the night from driving. The first thing that is very obvious is that this is a pizza place. There's a lots of options on the menu from pastas, salads, pizza, and more. Nothing was really decent. The pizza was overly salty and the centre was a bit soggy and uncooked. There were up to five layers of pepperoni under the cheese so I can see why. But this is a hefty pizza and there's a lot of toppings so that is a good thing. There's some weight to their slices. The lasagna was probably the best dish and was quite tasty. The salad was a bit plain and sloppy. I might be a bit harsh but considering the prices of Normandin, the food simply isn't worth it. Nothing wrong with the service here, it was definitely adequate!

In Just got into Riviere-du-Loup and staying the night. Was looking for some quick pizza and some poutine for delivery. Called at 730 on a Friday night and was told 45 min. Ordered 2 different types of pizza, a poutine, a chicken wrap and a clubhouse. This was repeated to me over the phone as my order. An hour later still no food so I called them back. They messed up my room number but said I was a priority. 15 min later the guy arrived. I got 3 pizzas, a wrap, no poutine, no clubhouse, no fries to go with the wrap and some disgusting little dish called Croque monsieur... Its not even on the menu but that is what the receipt says. It's a piece of bread with some mustard? Mayo? Spread on it with Ham slices, tomato, burnt Bacon, and Mozzarella cheese melted on it... Kind of reminds me of a dogs breakfast. No one was hungry enough to try it. I would say avoid this place. The pizza was not very good despite their claim as a specialty. I got the supreme (one of the ones they got right) and would not order again. If your looking for pizza, look somewhere else!

I phoned in for a delivery and was told to come pick it up myself as the hotel I was staying at was close. I agreed(not sure why) and found myself climbing 4 foot snow banks but no problem other than I passed the delivery car at the hotel front doors. Things happen.... I arrive and am told the order machine was having issues and my pizza had not registered so I'd need to wait 10 minutes.. things happen.... I'm not in a rush and the pizza arrives within 10 minutes.... I proceed high jumping the snow banks back to the hotel... I open the pizza box to find a perfectly unsliced pizza... going to be a challenge!!! I hope this honest feedback helps this business improve the customer experience. The young fellow helping me was outstanding but the overall execution was pretty dreadful..

This restaurant (kitchen specifically) is very understaffed. Waited an hour to get a simple breakfast. Will never come back.

Bad service. They are extremely understaffed. It took them 20 min just to show up at the table and take the order. We asked for hard eggs Benedict and we revived soft eggs... They never refilled our coffee and never came to the table to ask if everything was fine. They just don't care about consumer satisfaction.

Overall a decent experience. Food was decent and prices were reasonable. A decent atmosphere as well. Their kids menu has many options and is reasonably priced at $5.50 a child. The kids had a poutine and a pizza and the food was good. Desert and a drink are also included.

I've been visiting this area for my job probably a decade or more but never went here until today. Had a few beers and I don't speak French and bartender still didn't get aggravated with me. She was still able to my order right with the language barrier and friendly. Nice atmosphere. I never paid much attention when I would drive by. Didn't expect what was inside. Food was good and the rest of the menu looked good too. I hope to come here again sometime. I would give 5 stars but I never give 5 unless something really amazing happens.

Terrible place. Do not eat here. Ignorant staff. Will not speak English even though they know. Terrible food.

3.5 Stars* This is just one of your regular restaurants that serves your typical Canadian food. There is a lot of choice on the menu, so it's basically good for anyone. I got the veggie pizza combo, which was pretty good and flavorful with a salad and fries on the side. Once again, just your regular Canadian restaurant. I would recommend this place for lunch or dinner.

only if I could remove stars I would! terrible terrible aweful damaged food and place! I saw many normandin on the road and decided to stop and try it WORST idea ever. I took the brochette first there was no vegetables with it second it was cold and third the manager said it was frozen... what the hell! I paid my bills she didnt offered me NOTHING. she said all the normandin were the same. so really total damaged waste of money time and food. bad servives it took 1hr for them to serve me sh****! If you see one NORMANDIN just keep going specially this one with the bad manager.

We stopped at this restaurant based on the 2 reviews. The reviews are right on. Decent food, decent prices,and child friendly.
