Restaurant Oogst

My wife and I had dinner at Oogst on Oct. 21. It is in a beautiful part of the city of Hague. It was near our hotel and I happened to see the menu as we walked around. Reviews seemed good so we booked a dinner. It is a small cozy place with the feel of a French Bistro. Not many tables and a small staff. We each chose the Recolte 5 course menu. The food is outstanding. Very creative and fresh. The food emphasizes seasonal, fresh and local ingredients. The wine list is not extensive but it is more than adequate. Our service was great, knowledgeable and very genuine. My wife and I spent one month traveling around Europe this Fall. We ate in two 3-star and one 1-star Michelin during our trip. In our judgement this could easily be a 1-star Michelin restaurant. In the Hague, do go.

The restaurant is decorated very nice, but unfortunately the food doesn’t really fit to our taste. The ingredients are not seasonal and tastes too sour or bitter, and the seasoning is too strong and overwrite the rest of the ingredients in some dishes. The wine selection is nice but mainly for a bottle instead of glass pairing. We had higher expectation to the meals, so the experience is a bit disappointed.

Infact a great experience. The team is passionated to excellent service and food. We had dinner and chose the 5 courses plus dessert. There nothing to argue about the quality and detail of the dishes. We like the stylish place to. Wine list could be improved but there is a reasonable range of options available. Please proceed like this.

I had an excellent meal here while on vacation in The Hague. The level of service and food is above what one would expect for a Bib Gourmand restaurant; I would put it on par with multiple 1-star restaurants I have dined at. As a solo diner, I felt appreciated and received a level of attention that truly made me feel welcomed.

I was certainly looking forward to visiting Oogst as we heard lots of positive things about this restaurant. We try to go to new places without any expectations as it's nice to experience things ourselves. I got pretty disappointed with our visit, though. We have chosen for 5 courses, possibly it was not enough to experience the idea behind the dishes, but we weren't advised on that metter, so I guess we couldn't have know better. Out of 5 courses only dessert stood out and was really impressive technique and taste wise. The service I experienced as uptight and a bit arrogant.

We saw this place on our first afternoon in Den Haag and knew we had to eat there. I’m so glad we did. It’s a beautiful room with two menus that you can mix and match to suit. The front of house is amongst the best I’ve experienced and the chef is doing amazing things with beautiful produce. And when I say amazing I mean he is respecting it and not seeing it as an opportunity to flex his ego on the plate. This is so rare. A brilliant meal that I look forward to repeating.

We dined at Oogst last night and it has to be one of the best places I’ve ever eaten across several continents! If you’re not familiar with the concept, it’s a place where you order between 3-5 small plates and finish with a delicious dessert. Even with 4 plates, I did not feel stuffed when I left...I was full, but it didn’t feel like an American meal (if you know what I mean) as the portions were just right. I didn’t get a picture of my favorite dish, but it was a Duck Rillettes dumpling with kale and a seaweed broth. Incredible. For the most part, everything was seasoned perfectly and didn’t require any additional salt and pepper, except for the Venison Stew (with red cabbage and a red wine sauce—it was a bit sweet). I hope we get back there again before we return to the States when our expat journey ends next year.

Went there for dinner and took summer menu with wine arrangement. The food is delicious, wine is good, services is great, and the place is also good. The only thing is the portion is quite small.. that is why I gave only 4 stars.

Very happy with the takeout menu we ordered today. 5 great courses and some additional treats as well. Easy to prepare with clear instructions and (nice but not required) YouTube video's. Courses are refined with well chosen ingredients, all high quality and tasteful. We will definitely come back for takeout, and hopefully they will be able to open soon and we can book a table.

Went here with some visitors and were just blown away. The food is great, as is the price in relation to quality, and a warm atmosphere. The service is a bit scatterbrained and inefficient, but what they lack in organisation they make up for in friendliness and good spirits. We're already planning our next visit. Book ahead though!
