A true culinary gem of Helsinki, Ora offers a feast to all senses. The seasonal menu changes frequently, but you can always expect the impeccable quality paired with creativity and attention to details. The flavours are in front and centre of every course: they are powerful, almost overwhelming initially, but then manage to transform and highlight the taste of the dish, leaving a gentle reminder when you finish the course. The six-course tasting menu is, in fact, a ten-course one if you count amuse bouche, bread serving, pre-desert and post-desert. Yes, the deserts were amazing; the pork was prepared better than in many top notch Copenhagen restaurants, and the white fish tartar served with smoked croquette was enlightening.
I highly recommend Ora for a great dining experience and a sampler of modern Finnish cuisine, focusing on local and sustainable ingredients with zero-waste approach.
