"The name Ouroboros, like the mythological snake that symbolizes an eternal circle, reflects the way this restaurant works: from market to plate (and even composting), their approach forms a perfect cycle. The cozy bistro has comfortable seating at tables and a counter, and a concise menu that prioritizes fresh seasonal and regional ingredients, such as delicious pork gyozas served with a stout beer sauce, flavorsome chicken, Jerusalem artichokes and salsify, and an excellent apple strudel. There is no wine list here; ask owner Daniel for recommendations." - Michelin Inspector

stylish, comfortable, welcoming with thoughtful well plated food. would definitely recommend, and can’t wait to be back! service was excellent, there was a bit of wait for certain items but overall very quick service. they have a great selection of ciders, which is what our party preferred. when it comes the menu, these dishes were impressive and memorable: moule, pois, herbe flétan, sarrasin, haricot tomate, feta, basilic gnocchetti, champi,clos-des-roches tarte and sorbet (dessert - was beautiful) these were great: concombre, livèche, louisette (?) porc, moutarde, légume these unfortunately were a bit of a miss, not a lot of flavour. agneau, pain, radis flétan, framboise, piment

The dishes were small but amazing! The host suggested that a table a 2 usually orders 5 dishes to share but our table of 4 only ordered 7. The Panna Cotta was so good that we ordered it twice! The only dish that didn't blow us away was the sea bass sashimi, but it was still good. The mussels picture was taken after we had already eaten 2 mussels. While the dishes were small, they made up for it in flavor. To be full, it would probably go up to $100 CAD a person with drinks. I wonder if the locals don't like this restaurant since it was empty when we went at 5:30pm and almost everyone that came spoke English. There isn't an English menu, but luckily, the host was very helpful in translating the menu.

It was my first visit to this charming little restaurant, and I had the most delightful dining experience. The chef is incredibly talented and creates delicious dishes using seasonal, locally sourced products. The menu changes regularly based on what’s fresh and available. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and beverage program. There is no formal wine list, but rather an ever changing selection of low intervention, organic wines, beer and cider which are suggested by the sommeliers. Customers also have the option to peruse available bottles on the wall and bring some home. Orobourous is one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Quebec and will undoubtedly become more in demand as others discover this gem. Get there sooner than later! I can’t wait to return!

After a disastrous experience down the street at l’affair du ketchup we stumbled on this heavenly spot tired and hungry. We were greeted warmly and within moments had tasty wine and warm sourdough with leek butter to snack on. Every plate was beautiful, perfectly balanced and so so fresh. We shared shrimp croquettes, pea cakes, arctic char, and a lobster waffle followed by puff pasty, crème diplomate and raspberries. Exceptional dinner from start to finish and warm and friendly service which turned around an awful evening into a magical one. Merci!!

We enjoyed a quiet mid-March, mid-week dinner at Ouroboros with congenial and personal service, as well as creative and well-executed dishes that made the most of local food, and excellent wine. Quebec City is such a special place, not least of all for its food and people, and Ouroboros definitely contributed to this positive impression for us. Merci!
