On the Grid : PA&Co

"Almost an institution on the restaurant scene in the area and according to Financial Times; their burger is among the top 5 in the world. While at it you should also try the house special - Gino as dessert. Seasonal fruits baked with white chocolate, served with ice cream. Reservations are only made on a daily basis so be sure to drop by or give them a call when they open around 3 PM." - 25AH

"This pocket-sized bistro started more as a hangout when five pals bought the space in 1986 to host their friends and family. Though it quickly grew in popularity, the intimacy is undimmed and the food as delectable as ever (it even released a cookbook in 2016 to mark the 30-year milestone). Dishes range from Swedish staples such as råraka (hash browns) and gravlax to simple continental plates, many inspired by Sweden’s longstanding dalliance with French cuisine. The whole grilled sea bass is worth every krona."

The 38 Essential Stockholm Restaurants

"For more than 30 years, this small restaurant has been a home away from home for celebrities, wannabes, and regulars. Service is effusively friendly, and the vibe beneath the chandeliers is always relaxed. No-fuss Swedish comfort dishes boast the occasional French or Spanish tweak, like råraka (hash browns with red onion, sour cream, and vendace roe), a chevre chaud salad with Dijon dressing, and the Gino, a signature dessert of strawberries, kiwi, and banana covered by grated white chocolate and served with vanilla ice cream. [$$$]" - Per Styregård

Google
Great dining experience in a very unique spot. Fantastic food but with a relaxed living room style atmosphere. This is apparently also where they came up with the Gino dessert so of course we got that!

The frame of the place is beautiful and convivial. Prices are good given the quality of the food, which is delicious. Service is great, just don't hesitate to ask questions, they'll be happy to advise. Highly recommended, best dinner of my 5 days holidays in Stockholm.

Attentive service, great atmosphere and delicious food. Couldn't be happier with our choice of restaurant. I had the grilled octopus and the Swedish meatloaf and they were absolutely fantastic. The price was competitive compared to other options we considered locally.

Always lovely. Duck liver pate was our favorite this round. Thanks for paying attention to our food allergies and also perfecting the Hendricks & Tonic with cucumber and pepper.

This was the best culinary experience I’ve had in Stockholm. The server was amazing, food was DELICIOUS and atmosphere was just what I needed to feel at home in a strange city 😊

Google
Great dinner and good service. First night of our vacation and we were looking for a special dinner. I had salmon with Røe, small onions, fennel froth and new potatoes. It was stupendous as was the steak salads my family ordered. The portions were ample; good wine. Highly recommended!

Amazing food and great small restaurant atmosphere. Food was nuanced and unique with great selections of wine. Best meal I had in Stockholm, the escargot was to die for.

Yelp
Ok, finding a restaurant in Stockholm is not as easy as one might think for a New Yorker. We are used to restaurants being open 7 days a week and until at least 11pm. We're also not used to the sun setting so late in the summer so we kept thinking it's much earlier in the day then it was. This meant that we found ourselves scrambling to find a "decent" place to eat at 9 something on a Sunday. We walked around to several places that were closed for summer holiday or technically open but their kitchen was closed. They are serious about closing time here. My husband was about to give up and go to (gasp!) an American chain restaurant! But I kept checking and found this little place. It was great! Tucked away on a side street. We had the potato hash brown with roe, baked cod, the potatoes and vegetables and some white vine. It all hit the spot. The service was good. The cod was a little heavy in oil/butter. I wish it had much less. But otherwise, very well done.

Yelp
The best restaurant in Stockholm, my personal favorite that has long passed the test of time - +3 decades.

Yelp
One of my favorites. Everything I have had here has been absolutely wonderful. And my dining companions have never been disappointed, either. They do the classics well, but also offer innovative and fresh dishes that are always delightful. Service is good, too. I love, love, love the small room and intimate vibe of this place. As the other reviewer mentioned, they could probably do with a table or two less and everyone would be a little more comfortable. But hey, if it means my chances of getting a delicious dinner that night are a little better, well they I guess they can leave the extra seating. A solid 4.5 because of the tight seating, but I'll round up to 5 because of the food.

Yelp
Pa & Co is a local's unpretentious restaurant with a small bar, usually packed, featuring Swedish ingredients with a French twist. It's just an honest, place beloved by the regulars, so hopefully the tourists won't overrun this well kept secret.

Yelp
Nice Ostermalm location. Small gastropub, offering innovative bistro food, with various inspirations: Swedish but also French, Asian, etc. The place is small and crammed with too many tables and seats, so you eat on your neighbor's lap. Service was nice but very slow. The food was excellent overall. My fish roe and sour cream over hash brown was great. My wife's baked goat cheese over a toast was nice but the salad under it lacked cohesion: it was everything but the kitchen sink. My wife's arctic char was well cooked and came with nice smashed potatoes. My Swedish meatloaf, with mashed potatoes and gravy was excellent. Too salty, but still great, and huge portion. For dessert, the Swedish pancakes with whipped cream and jam were simple but very well done. Overall, not cheap but excellent meal. If you plan on arriving after 6:30pm, you will probably have to book ahead.

Yelp
Recommended by a friend. Walked in early... like 7.15-7.30p early to a 3/4 empty room and 2 pretentious staff sternly said "bar seating only". Thought I didn't hear correctly..but they said it again, and they were fully booked. Odds! Happily found a fabulous spot close by with fantastic staff and tasty food!!!

Yelp
One of my preferred choice restaurants in Stockholm. Very focused on regular clients, the preferred in-crowd hangout place! Never the less, very nice food! My favorite dishes are "Biff Rydberg" and "Torskrygg", both super tasty. And of course PA's "Gino" as desert! Can't be better! Excellent ambiance and fast & smooth service. Love it!

Yelp
The most arrogant staff I have ever encountered at a restaurant. Food is good but my tip is to spend your money somewhere else.
