I chose Peix & Brases in Dénia based on a recommendation in the Michelin Guide, and I can honestly say that lunch there exceeded all my expectations. I opted for the 10-course tasting menu (€116), and from the very first amuse-bouche a true symphony of flavors and aromas began to unfold. Each course was beautifully presented and thoughtfully composed, delighting both the eye and the palate.
As an aperitif, I enjoyed a virgin piña colada, which was nice and fragrant, accompanied by three outstanding amuse-bouches.
The menu focused primarily on fish and seafood. Every dish was a harmonious interplay of ingredients, with inventive combinations and flavors that complemented each other seamlessly. I am truly glad I chose the longer menu, as it allowed me to experience the full breadth of the chef’s creativity. All dishes delivered were perfectly balanced with wonderfully intense flavors; the vegetables were cooked to perfection, and the local prawns, squids and octopus were absolutely exceptional.
The desserts were equally impressive. In particular, the raspberry variations with panna cotta and rose-petal ice cream were outstanding. I concluded the menu with mint tea, served with three delicate and delicious gourmandises, a perfect ending to an excellent meal.
The service was warm, attentive, and highly professional, with a level of customer care that was truly admirable. Only their English definitely needs some improvement (and my Spanish, too :) ). The restaurant certainly deserves its Michelin star, and I would highly recommend it. Thank you for this wonderful experience!
