Albrun

"The journey up to this enchanting mountain village is something of an adventure, but the food is worth it! The rustic chalet-style interior belies an ambitious menu including roast black nose lamb with artichokes and chickpeas, as well as poached char with curly kale. There are even a couple of simple but well-kept rooms for overnight stays." - Michelin Inspector

It is such a pleasure to find a superb restaurant off the beaten track! The cooking here is of the highest quality, as are the ingredients, many local, used in the varied and appealing dishes offered. The barley salad brought a mixture of greens, vegetables, and nuts and fruits that coalesce into a delectable whole. A main course of lamb and kid goat provided a symphony of tastes and textures. The restaurant also offers a lunch special at a most affordable price. Today's saltimbocca was a great rendition of this popular Italian dish. Desserts are uniformly excellent and not to be missed.

My wife and I had lunch at this wonderful restaurant. The decor mades us comfortable and cozy. Looking at the menu…I saw the chef is very creative and great unique dishes (look that photos entrees 😋😋). We eat the main meal as a classic “Käseschnitte”…well season….top quality…and taste the wine in the cheese too 😊 The wine list is full top quality Wallis wine…we has a glass wine Petit Arvine and Montepulciano from Fernand Cina 🍷 excellent quality! The service was very friendly and helpful…then…I give 5 ⭐️ for this restaurant…its worth to find this valley Binn…beautiful, natural, romantic…the Chef is like Mozart to creative music with beautiful food 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💐🥂🍾

We wanted to come back for dinner and |decided to stay overnight. Rooms are simple but clean and cosy, and with wonderful views. The half board dinner exceeded expectations, an excellent 3 course meal, and we were able to choose the chocolate fondue as dessert for the kids. Breakfast was excellent as well and more than adequate. Service friendly throughout. Highly recommended!

Can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. Very cosy, fantastic food where every detail is done with love. Service is great too. The couple running this place are doing a wonderful job and are worth every visit.

Pretty restaurant in a beautiful village. Attentive service. Interesting flavour combinations on the menu. Mario’s special consisted of a deconstructed Black Forest cake along side a beef filet and creamy barley. Didn’t work for us so we simply deconstructed the dish and ate it as a main and dessert. Lambs liver was a bit over done for our personal taste.

We had lunch on a wonderful Sunday and were truly impressed by the chef's creativity. Two delicious soups, a great starter combining different tomatoes with sashimi and finally a delicious lamb liver in mustard sauce followed by a delicious sweet - what is coming out of the kitchen is outstanding. The only exception was the risotto which was overcooked for our taste (admitting that most people would prefer it this way though). Service was very friendly and attentive. The wine list is good, featuring mainly local wines. Given the cuisine, it could be more creative - the Valais has a lot more to offer.||But happy to return anytime - it is rather surprising to find such good food in such a remote place. ||Note: this review only covers the food and not the pension / lodging.

Perhaps the best home-made Cholera I've tasted in the area. The home-made Linzertorte was also delicious and the tagliatelle with beef had really good quality and generous portion of beef. The restaurant is quaintly decorated and we loved the Easter theme with chickens. Would definitely recommend the interesting menu.

Stayed for two nights. Lovely old building in a picture-perfect high-alpine village. Pleasant room although ours (on the top floor under the eaves) had a microscopic shower. Excellent, as in really excellent, food. Friendly service... except for the owner who was fairly severe (e.g., no help with laundry, confiscating a slice of bread a friend wanted to take with him from breakfast): had she been a little more helpful and generous, I'd have given the place a top rating despite the micro-shower... often times it is the little things that make the difference between a good and a great experience. I'd definitely eat there again, but I might try out the other hotel in the village for accommodation (although this is not to be construed as a recommendation... I haven't stayed there).
