Restaurant Riedenburg

We loved our time at this restaurant. The food, the service, the atmosphere - everything was perfect. We really appreciated their focus on local, healthy, organic food and drinks - no Coca Cola. And the best thing, our dog Blue could come along! I even bought their cook book!

Amazing place to try when visiting Salzburg! Really kind and friendly staff, perfectly cooked food with great presentation, and cozy atmosphere. The garden is so quaint and a great vibe to be sitting. I ordered the lunch special (gnocchi and pike) and it was perfect. Definitely try it!

Come to this business lunch at Salzburg. Simple but fanciful place to savor I decided to explore the flavors of local Austrian cuisine and started with the asparagus creamy soup accompanied by shaved salmon. The preparation was unique, but unfortunately, it didn't deliver the level of flavor I had anticipated. I was hoping for a stronger umami taste, but instead, it turned out to be rather bland. For the main course, I opted for the grilled guinea fowl with foie gras. However, it was disappointingly salty, surpassing my personal preference. Additionally, the service was a bit leisurely, seemingly encouraging patrons to savor their meals at a slower pace.

Service was great, similar to a NYC restaurant. I had the juiciest medium steak with so much flavor 😋 I would definitely go back

We spent a very good moment at the Restaurant Riedenburg where we received a warm welcome. The food was fresh and delicious, the decoration was refine. A special thanks to the staff who were here to allowing us to spend a great lunch. I hope that we will have the opportunity to come back.

Excellent authentic fine Austrian dining with some of the best service that I have experienced in Austria. Our host was absolutely amazing and our wait staff were incredibly nice. In particular, my partner has a severe allergy in which the chef was happy to accommodate and without question.

The 5 course menu was absolutely delicious. Very good wine selection. Exceptionally pleasant service. Certainly one of the best gourmet restaurants in Salzburg and our new favorite place!

I am finally back in Santa Monica, California but have not stopped thinking about our WONDERFUL experience at RIEDENBURG I had the good fortune to visit my son in Salzburg and for our last night we decided to splurge a bit and find someplace special for dinner. After an exhaustive search on several "foodie" websites, we decided on RIEDENBURG. It was absolutely the right pick! We made an early reservation and arrived to the most gracious welcoming host, Nicole Schinwald. She led us through the restaurant to a lovely outdoor garden giving a choice between outside or in the summer house at one of the perfectly set tables. We chose outside as the day had been so warm and the garden so cool! We were met by two lovely wait staff who were both warm & friendly and professional. A beautiful summer prix fixe menu was offered as well as the regular menu and an extensive wine list. (Try the Umathum Rosa, 2014, Burgenland. Outstanding wine!) What followed was one of the most delicious and relaxed evening I have ever spent in a restaurant. Beautifully cooked linguini with summer vegetables and truffles, chanterelle soup, pasta with calamari, crudite with herbed dipping sauces, crisp homemade crackers and warm olive bread all came to the table. Perfect pillowy, crunchy wienerschnitzel with lemon and cranberry and a gorgeous cut of lamb followed. Finally dessert... The Duett von Salzburger Nockerl and the Holunderblütenparfait! Spectacular! We sat for a long time, talked, drank and watched as other diners had similarly wonderful experiences. All the while, Nicole and the wait staff carefully tended to the guests. As we were leaving, we met Helmut. We lavished him with praise!! Not just for the food or the beautiful setting or the A+ service but for the entire experience. We felt in one visit that we were family. The care and attention given to the full experience at Riedenburg is amazing! Helmut ended out conversation by running to the kitchen, needing to flip a steak he was tending... Some other lucky diner was about to receive his gift! Bravo! Auf wiedersehen! Until we meet again...

Great desert. Peach sorbet with raspberries. Great service. The dinner menu looked great, but we had already eaten dinner... Unfortunately.

This place is a must when in Salzburg! A somewhat fine dining experience in a warm and cozy ambience. The food is well presented and tastes equally good! We had the Roast Chicken and the Bavarian Fish! The flavours on each dish were subtle and complemented each other very well.

This is a MUST in Salzburg! The food is truly 5star and very creative. The chef takes traditional Austrian cuisine to a new level. While using fresh ingredients he makes a traditional dish something special in both taste and presentation. You never know who you will see there from famous actors to a prince or politician. Excellent wine list and the prices reflect a VERY fair value, nothing outrageous like you might expect in a high quality and famous restaurant. This is truly a GEM! The chef and his wife are welcoming and friendly and are likely to saunter by as you enjoy a drink in the beautiful garden when the weather permits.
