The 16 Best Restaurants in Laval, Quebec | Eater Montreal

"Don’t let the strip mall location fool you: Restaurant Rouby is well-worth a visit. In an already shawarma-heavy area, the menu at this family-owned Lebanese and Armenian restaurant stands out. They offer classics like hummus, fattoush, and stuffed grape leaves, alongside a not-to-be-missed Armenian Aleppi Mortadella made with wine and lean ground beef and served thinly sliced, plus a pressed/cured beef basturma." - Erinn Blicher

The best and only spot to order your Armenian bbq! The filet mignon skewers are melt-in-your-mouth tender and perfectly seasoned. The kafta is just as delicious, juicy, flavorful, and full of that authentic homemade taste. Everything is fresh, cooked to perfection, and served with care. Highly recommend!

My family has been going to this restaurant for 17 years. They never disappoint with the food and service. I highly recommend Roubys for authentic Mediterranean food. They have also been our goto place for all our family events. By the way, if you go to any restaurant with service you need to tip the person who is serving you the good food you didn’t feel like cooking at home.

Delicious Lebanese cuisine. Totally recommend it. The filet mignon was perfectly cooked and was juicy and quite tasty. Great taboule, and the baba ganoush had an amazing smoky flavour. The service was helpful and quite friendly. Good portions that were enough to satiate even a hungrier than average person.

This place has AMAZING food. Everything is super fresh and tasty. Easily some of the best Lebanese food I've ever had. Definetly worth adding to your "GO TO" list.

Really bad all too salty and burn. They lie the portion look big on picture but then spend 75$ and gate food for 1 person total joke don’t order from here!

Great family run restaurant offering high quality, delicious Lebanese and Armenian food. Everything from appetizers to mains and great. Stocked bar that offers drinks for everyone’s taste. The family plan they offer which includes 6 or 9 appetizers followed by the mixed grilled platter is great for groups as you get to taste different things. Very generous portions! You’ll be full on appetizers, but make room for the meats once you smell them 😅 Highly recommended!

They were not open for dine in due to a party going on but they accommodated my take out & made the super meat combo fresh. I loved the juicy yummy meat and tabouleh combo. The food lasted me for two servings even though I was famished. Will visit again.

Yelp
Rouby provides some authentic Lebanese/Armenian styled cuisine. The menu is quite big with a huge variety of hot and cold mezzes (tapas) as well as a variety of cooked meats to yourself indulge in. The menu is ideally suited to be shared in a friend or family setting. My extended family knows of this place quite well over the years as they've all been here in past events for birthdays/weddings or special dinners at some point in their lives. My recent visit is nothing so exciting however and I brought some work colleagues with me to introduce them to this type of cuisine. Here's my opinion on the plates that we shared: Hummus : Excellent! (5 stars). This menu item tends to be prepared so differently in a variety of cuisines but the Armenian way... is the best way! :) Fattouch : Fantastic!!! (5+ stars). My favorite salad without a doubt and Rouby does it justice. The salad ingredients are fresh, the fried pita pieces crunchy (freshly prepped) and the dressing makes this dish really come together. Truly spectacular. Soujouk : Decent 3/5. Soujouk (or sujuk depending where you're from) is a dry, spicy sausage that I swear is always prepped different at every single restaurant that services it. Unfortunately, I wasn't overly fond with the version provided here, a bit too dry for my taste and the portion less than expected. Meat Plate : Good (3/5). We took a family plate which consisted of 1 stick of kafta, shish-taouk and filet mignon. The meats were good, I was especially fond of the filet mignon. The plate comes with a selection of salad or fries/rice. Service is friendly albeit a little standoffish. Good was prepared quickly and efficiently. The establishment is clean and well presented, our banquet table was comfortable. Overall the food is good, with some of my particular tastes showing clear bias in my opinion of them, some of the mezze plates are not as generous as they should be and this went in particular for the Soujouk which didn't fill out a full plate. I also regularly find plates of meat at Lebanese restaurants being quite overpriced. The meat plate which was close to $25 only held 3 sticks of meat and anyone knows we could get these at Adonis for about $2 to $3 dollars each. I would hope to see more generous portions in the meat plates but alas that challenges seems to be seen everywhere. Conclusion? Worthy of a taste, try it out and enjoy this cuisine.

Yelp
Nice new Lebanese resto in laval. I really enjoyed the food at a decent price. I esp. Liked yhe beef with the onions and soaked pita in juice. Filet mignon and chicken was just as good.

Yelp
We were on a Saturday night, restaurant was 80% full. Food is great, service is great and prices are reasonable. My only critic was they were short on staff. Only 2 ladies serving the whole restaurant. Not sure if every Saturday is the same. 3 waiters would have been perfect. Anyhow, the 2 ladies, even when they were short on stuff, did a great job. For sure I will go back and will refer all my friends. The food has the Armenian twist which I love. Good Job, good food and good service all in all.

Yelp
Fantastic family run business. Excellent filet mignon kebab, chi keufteh, and appetizers. Service is friendly and courteous (usually by the owners daughters and the owner himself). They serve one of my favourite beers; almaza. This place is approoriate for large parties (family style platters). I believe you can rent out the whole place if you have a fairly large party
