Restaurant Saveur de Poisson

Very traditional and popular place, a true local institution. “Saveur de Poisson” offers a fixed fish menu of excellent quality: a generous selection of appetizers, grilled fish, a fish tagine, and two desserts. Everything is extremely fresh and well prepared. The space is very small and there is usually a long line to get in, but it’s absolutely worth the wait for the quality of the food and the overall experience. That said, considering the “popular cuisine” concept and the local context, the menu price feels a bit on the high side. Still, a must-visit spot in Tangier for fish lovers.

Had an amazing dining experience here a few days ago for lunch. It is worth all the hype! Set menu meant we just showed up and enjoyed the fish courses as they rolled out. We went with three young kids plus a baby and found the atmosphere family friendly (paper placemats for unlimited coloring/art time). Excellent service - some of the best I've had in Morocco. Plus we heard the servers speaking with customers from around the world in at least four different languages. Each fish course was a culinary delight, and the portion sizes (served family style) were very generous. Unlimited pomegranate-prune juice refills. The juice is very sweet, but it grew on me throughout the meal and actually paired well with the fish dishes.

One of the best fish meals I've had in my life. Highly recommend. 250 MAD per head. 4 courses that consisted of baby shark (do do do do do do) monkfish, squid, sea bream, sea bass and cod. All cooked to perfection. We arrived at 18:45 for a 19:00 open and managed to get a table in the first sitting. We spent just over 1 hour here and the second sittings started coming in around 20:00

I visited Restaurant Saveur de Poisson in Tangier two weeks ago, and it was an excellent experience. This is a traditional, popular, and old restaurant without air conditioning, but the atmosphere feels authentic and welcoming. They are well-known for certain dishes at reasonable prices, although I forgot the exact price per person. The meal started with a delicious soup, followed by a shrimp dish, possibly served with very tasty spinach. Next, we had grilled fish, freshly caught from the local area, which was amazing. Finally, a dessert was served, and they also offered a very sweet, aged juice mixture that was quite unique. The staff were friendly, attentive, and very helpful throughout the visit. Overall, the experience was fantastic, and I would definitely return. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Tangier.

It was my first experience with this type of restaurant. It has a set menu and it is simply gorgeous food. It starts with a fish soup, followed by a chowder and a fried fish. Gorgeous. The juice is also great but a sugar bomb for diabetics.

An absolute gem that should be on everyone's best restaurant list in tangier. Even if there is a line, I promise you it's worth it. The service is extremely efficient but still quite friendly, and the seafood is the best we've had in Tangier. With appetizers, fresh bread, soup, a fish tajine, grilled fish, a dessert, and a house juice all included in the price you'll leave full and happy. Plus they gave us a little souvenir to go.

Amazing food, I’d recommend if you are comfortable with this price point. Fresh fish cooked to perfection with a local cozy vibe. Come hungry as the portion is super generous, the harissa sauce is a standout.

A hidden gem in Tangier! If you love fish, this is the perfect place to visit. It’s hard to describe how wonderful it is—you truly have to experience it for yourself. Enjoy the beautiful atmosphere!
