"The owners are having a little fun with the name of this restaurant, which, although centrally located, is somewhat tucked away. It has a pleasingly laid-back, modern and unpretentious atmosphere that allows the cuisine to take centre stage. Led by head chefs Dominik Käppeler and Tobias Bacher, the kitchen team serves up elaborate, highly detailed and meticulously prepared cuisine that abounds with contrasts and flavours. Dishes such as pike-perch with miso, coffee, celery and date keep diners on their toes. The six- to eight-course surprise menu showcases the finest ingredients and changes every 14 days. Urban-style decor and attentive, friendly and expert service that includes interesting wine recommendations." - Michelin Inspector

"Served with German Hospitality For a special dinner head over to the Schweiger2 Restaurant Showroom where, unlike any other place in Munich you'll dine, there is no menu. Instead of ordering just select how many courses you'd like and let the chef know your preferences (particularly any allergies). They will then create something seasonal, unique and delicious just for you. Every dish is consistently served with warm hospitality and a bold wine & cheese list to match."

I quite liked the atmosphere and service at Showroom. Overall, we liked the food, but we thought it relied a little too much on foams/gels to elevate the meal, without those elements adding up to something greater than its individual parts. The waitress greeted us by asking if we wanted to start with sparkling champagne. Then the chef came over to speak to us about our preferences and allergies, which they took into account for the meal. The waitress was extremely knowledgeable and gave us a good understanding of both the food and the wine paired with it. I especially liked the pumpkin soup and the venison. Overall, it was a great experience.

Restaurant Showroom offers well-prepared courses that can be summed up in three words during my visit: foam, fruit, and sweet. While the dishes were creative and enjoyable, the flavors and ingredients leaned heavily in that direction. Service was good—attentive and professional—but the menu lacked balance.

A Unique Dining Experience at Showroom We had the pleasure of dining at Showroom in Munich, securing a last-minute reservation. From the cozy atmosphere to the creative dishes, everything was exceptional. The *Apero*—a mix of pear, sage, oat flakes, and ginger—was refreshing, while the amuse-bouche, featuring Jerusalem artichoke with white chocolate and kale with smoked trout, set the tone for the evening. Highlights included Wagyu beef with mandarin and vanilla, and a pumpkin soup with scallop and mustard. Desserts, like mango and passionfruit with Japanese sake, ended the meal perfectly. Showroom offers more than a meal—it’s a culinary adventure worth trying!

Google
Our experience at Showroom was outstanding. They clearly deserve their Michelin star - the food and wine pairing were excellent enough to deserve even more. Every one of the seven courses, three amuses gueules, and the sweet bites at the end were excellent: beautifully plated, with unusual flavour profiles that worked every time. The wine pairings were mainly of lesser known wines but of very high quality, also in many cases with unusual profiles but which worked very well with each course. We have very rarely had a dining experience like this where every course and pairing were great, but were never disappointed here. Perhaps the only element holding them back from more stars is the atmosphere. Multiple Michelin star restaurants are often fitted out with opulent decor and servers that are highly professional but a bit overly formal. However, for us, Showroom is better than that. The dining room has a simple, comfortable elegance, and our server/sommelier was professional, attentive, and highly personable. The result was a very relaxing, comfortable, and exciting dinner with many “wow” moments. The cost was significant, but well worth it. A pleasant element for us was that there is no menu so each course was a surprise. A nice touch was to give us a card listing all the courses and wine pairings after the meal.

We had our wedding dinner at Showroom and it was absolutely perfect. The service was very friendly and attentive, and the food delicious. We had a vegan six course menu specially prepared for us and it was all incredible. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion. Thanks to everyone at Showroom for making our wedding day so special!

Let me start out by saying that this is a fine restaurant. They obviously know what they are doing in the kitchen, and the service was excellent, attentive without being hovering. There were several courses that we had in the degustation menu (six courses) that were as good as I’ve had anywhere. And maybe The Showroom’s problem is that it suffers in the comparison, as I went to a truly world class establishment in Prague just a week prior (Field). But I couldn’t help but feeling that the chef was just trying too hard with some of the other courses, and not letting the food do its thing. We had the wine pairing with our dinner, and while the wines were nice, I thought the pairing was a little off. Again, and I hate to keep making the comparison, maybe The Showroom suffers a little bit in that regard as my wife and I were in another Michelin star restaurant in Prague earlier in the week and the wine pairings were just perfect. The sSowroom is a very nice restaurant, and probably deserves its one Michelin star, but no more.

A Michelin-Star Dining Every dish is a masterpiece, a harmonious blend of flavors and textures that tantalizes the palate. The meal began with a delightful aperitif: a refreshing combination of fear, sage, oat flakes, and ginger that awakened the senses. The amuse-bouche, a Jerusalem artichoke with white chocolate, cranberry, and chili, was a surprising and delicious start to the evening. The second amuse-bouche, kale with buttermilk and smoked trout, was a perfect balance of flavors and textures. The starter, a chervil bulb with saffron, sweetbreads, and pomegranate, was a standout. The flavors were complex and the dish was beautifully presented. The pumpkin soup with lime, banana, turbot, and mustard was a unique and delicious combination. The vegetarian options were equally impressive. The kohlrabi with coconut, pistachio, and butter was a light and refreshing dish, while the chestnut with orange, radicchio, horseradish, and cottage cheese was a more substantial and satisfying option. The main course, Wagyu beef with potato, root beer, mandarin, vanilla, and shallot, was a symphony of flavors. The beef was cooked to perfection and the accompanying flavors were both bold and subtle. The dessert, mango with sesame, cream cheese, passion fruit, and coriander, was a fitting end to the meal. The combination of sweet and savory flavors was unexpected and delightful. [Restaurant Name] is a truly exceptional dining experience. The food is innovative and delicious, the service is impeccable, and the atmosphere is elegant and inviting.

Google
Very interesting experience, we have taken 8 courses and the complementary wine. The food was very interesting and the wine paring was really good. The dishes on their own were a bit small, but after 8 courses, we were full. The service was very good. In general we had a very good time and the food was good. It sad the restaurant isn't more decorated and locks a bit better. That's the only thing that's sets back my score I recommend trying the place! It's a bit pricy but worth the money * Last note: my wife has a lot of allergies and she got special dishes adjusted to here need and they were very good as well! And no allergies

Yelp
We needed to get a copy of our bill/receipt after the fact and just tried calling the restaurant. The hostess who picked up could not be more rude and unwilling to help. She hung up multiple times and refused to assist or point us in the right direction. Unbelievably bad customer service for a Michelin restaurant.

Yelp
I can't say enough about this amazing place. My husband, who has a talent for finding hidden gems, found this to die for restaurant during our trip to Munich. The entire place has 8 tables all booked for one reservation each night. We were promptly greeted and the tasting menu explained. My husband is vegan and they catered each and every dish to his needs and wants while I had everything I ever wanted. Though we didn't go with the full wine pairing, we told our server what wine we were looking for and he served us three options during our chosen 6 course meal. The chef came out to greet us as well has help serve shaved truffles on a plate midway through the night. Though the restaurant is small, it didn't feel crowded or uncomfortable. I absolutely loved that we didn't have to order anything and we were treated like royalty. We WILL be back next trip!

Yelp
Michelin restaurant in Munich. Dominique (the owner) was the host, he told us his story and how he build his bistro. We had a beautiful table outside in a beautiful night. It is a surprise course menu which is already something fun! The food was absolutely delicious and the waiter was super nice . I won't spoil the surprise for you, yo can take a look at my pictures and come to have an amazing dinner! Restaurant Michelin in Munich.

Yelp
Wow. That's all I can say. Went here while in Munich and the experience was amazing. The non-alcoholic pairings matched perfectly with each course. Service was outstanding. Small and intimate.

Yelp
Reviewing this place proved to be harder than I imagined. There were elements of the evening that were impeccable and, some that were ok. For example, the service was exceptional but too serious for my liking. The decor of the place was more like a cafe and very casual. I expected a bit more from a decor point of view as, it is quite a small restaurant and the serious service combined with a casual atmosphere were at odds with each other. We booked to go here some time ago with friends and had a good night. The place itself is quite small and probably seats no more than 25 people. It's also a lot more casual than I expected and, most people were dressed in casual clothes which was slightly unusual, for a relatively expensive place. The chef came out and spoke to us and understood what we liked or did not like and spoke good English as well. This was a really nice touch and they were well prepared with the vegetarian request. Almost all the wait staff also spoke fabulous English and this was great. I was expecting great things. We had a 6 course menu and the first couple of courses were so so but, the rest was fantastic. The langoustine, beef and lamb were cooked to perfection. The salmon sashimi and tartar was also very nice. The wine list is extensive however the wines were a tad too expensive for what they were. The cheese course was excellent but, for me the dessert course was not fabulous. It was light and fruity but lacked the sweetness of a dessert. Towards the end of the evening the staff were letting us try some of the experimental food from the kitchen and that was nice. They loosened up a bit which was also nice. All in all a really great night with great friends. I would probably rate it somewhere between 3-4 stars. I don't know why, but with expensive Michelin restaurants I just expect more. I would come back here but considering what else is around, it would be a while before I do so.

Yelp
Not having a TV and not being German, I had never heard of the TV chef so I was completely unbiased when we arrived at the small restaurant. We were pleasantly welcomed and seated. There was a nice selection of welcome drinks, incl three different champagnes (I chose the pink one, which was a bit dryer than I'm used to for pink champagne). Very nice. After the first amuse bouche, the chef arrived at our table for two and welcomed us personally. Asked us what kind of menu we were looking forward to. We had the 9 course surprise menu (3,5,9 and 12 course menus available). The chef asked us which ingredients he should not use. If during the diner we would think of anything else for him to avoid, just let him know. I'm not well versed in the language of wines and didn't want to drink too much so we opted for a 2 glass wine selection by the house. One glass to complement the first half of our diner and one glass for the second part. The wine choice was very nice. A white German wine to go with mainly fish dishes and a bit of poultry. And a nice Austrian red to go with the meat and the other dishes of the second part of our diner. Though this wine 'option' wasn't in the menu, it starts with a minimum of three glasses, this is the kind of place where they make you feel that nothing is a bother or a problem. They really want you to get the best experience. The diner was pleasantly paced. Never did we have to wait too long for the next dish (we weren't in a hurry anyway), nor did we ever have to ask for a refill of our sparkling water. This is the kind of restaurant that still have enough staff to serve the meals to everyone at a table at the same time. After each dish is served you get an explanation of what you see before you. I'll let the photos I posted speak for themselves. The staff was always there but were never a distraction. During the presentation of the rather large selection of cheeses (alternative available) you really notice how well informed the staff is about everything they serve. It's what you expect but it is still a pleasure to see that the people in a restaurant take the trouble to be good at what they do! All in all it was a splendid affair.

Yelp
Was really looking forward to trying this restaurant, especially after hearing the enthusiastic reviews and considering that it's so popular that you have to book 2 week in advance. The quality of the produce is very good, the stuff fresh, the staff helpful and prepared. The decor pleasant (but for a few tacky details, see photo, LOL). It's just, I don't know, there was something missing to the perfect experience which I am not really sure about, but did not make me fully satisfied with Schweiger 2. I suspect it's a mix of the following: 1) the place is really small so you get to sit really really close to other people, listen to people's conversations and this makes me uncomfortable 2) we opted for a 5 course (surprise) menu with no meat in it (our request). We got a starter, then 3 fish-based dishes and a dessert. The fish based dishes were all good but they were very very similar to each other. I think a bit more fantasy/variation would have been great. 3) price is a bit on the high end, but that's ok and we knew it before. I am just not sure I was happy to pay 150 euros (with matched wines) for a dinner I did not find perfect (for the reasons above). I guess that's the risk of any "surprise" menus, that's why I prefer to order a la carte, which is not possible here. Still, thumbs up and it deserves another try!

Yelp
Excellent food and service! Although the wine list this year was not that great match to the food like in year 2016, but it was worthwhile going there! :-)

Yelp
Nice bar, good food, very friendly people, but expensive!!
