We ate here based on the many positive reviews. The food was certainly not bad, but considering the price, there were quite a few things to remark on. The waiter was attentive at first, but as the evening went on, we saw less and less of him. You would expect that after serving each course, he would briefly check whether everything is alright — not only when it’s already clear that you’ve finished eating.
My husband had the scampi cocktail; unfortunately, it was mostly cocktail sauce and lettuce, with at best half a scampi cut into four pieces. Our complaint about this was not taken seriously. The shared seafood platter we had afterwards felt rather carelessly prepared. The dish was described as being served with garnish, but this turned out to be just a local spinach-and-potato dish that was full of sand. Nothing else.
The prawns were not very fresh and partly burnt. On top of that, the intestinal tract had not been removed, which is something you may reasonably expect at this price point. The squid was also full of sand. The fish itself was very tasty, but at the very least we should have been asked whether we wanted it filleted.
The wine was good and very reasonably priced. But overall, we left with a somewhat uncared-for feeling. The small farewell bottle of liquor was appreciated, but I would have preferred simply having a good meal for the amount we paid.
