Restaurant Tendresse

This is the best vegan restaurants we have ever been to (and for reference I’ve been vegan for 30 years and have been lucky to try a lot of great vegan restaurants all over the world). The food taste like upscale, elevated fine dining vegan food with lovely presentation. This is not your typical vegan junk food with vegan faux meat type of restaurant. Every single dish we tried was amazing and the presentation outstanding. 5 star amazing that I can’t stop thinking about it. Their freshly made sourdough focaccia is the best I’ve ever had and the reason I chose to dine here; the eggplant scallops were scrumptious; the dumplings with peanut butter sauce the ultimate comfort food; the drinks were fantastic with beautifully presented carrot ginger lime juice; and I am seriously regretting that we didn’t order dessert. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, and the owner is awesome and down to earth. Next time we are in Montreal, this restaurant will always be on our agenda. Can’t wait to dine again!

The menu is very interesting and innovative! The taste is unique, rich, and flavourful! The plates might seem small but very filling! Do try the pave, you will enjoy it! The price point is high but the vibe in sainte Catherine is worth it! Request: please have Air conditioning if possible

Another amazing experience at Tendresse! I rarely go out, but this is the spot I will always choose to support. The staff is incredible—so kind, calm, and attentive. The food is outstanding, with unique flavors and a special touch that makes every dish just right—not too much, just enough, which I truly appreciate. The drinks are fantastic, and the desserts are both original and divine. Lastly, the ambiance is simply beautiful and cozy. Even when the restaurant is packed, you can still hear yourself talk—a rare gem! The decor, lighting, and plants make this place truly live up to its name: TENDRESSE. We’ll be back!

Good food, nice ambience. It's a vegan restaurant just next to station Beaudry, there are decent choices to pick from. But some weird happened, me and my friend got upset stomach after eating the food. It rarely happens that I get upset stomach with outside food. I was a bit surprised.

It’s a vegan restaurant near Beaudry station! location isn’t best due to homeless people on St. Catherine but once you enter the restaurant, you feel like it’s a different universe. I went for a work meeting dinner. It’s ok - buy protein options are limited. I was fasting that day and the service was too slow for what to eat. We picked the host table which has 3 meals but it took like 3h to get through each course! Food is overall ok - service is slow and stuff is nice. Overall if you’re looking for something filling and healthy, probably not the go to especially if you’re fasting.

This is the BEST vegan restaurant Ever (reviewed by a long time vegan foodie)! So rare to find a gem of a place where EVERYTHING you order is a win win and you can’t go wrong with anything you select. The food is a marriage between comfort food and fine dining, crafted with all vegan whole food plant based ingredients. This is the place to wow your carnivore friends who eschew anything vegan; or to impress a date. Lovely atmosphere with incredible service and staff. The owner is so warm and welcoming. Love her vibe! Highly recommend the housemade sourdough focaccia (best I have ever had); dumplings (missing these already); loaded fries with homemade Parmesan cheese and truffle oil; pasta with eggplant; panacotta (visually stunning); the burger is fantastic (I’m selective with vegan burgers and don’t like most, but this is 1 that I could eat all the time!) and the list goes on! 10/10 and if we lived in Montreal, this would be our go to place. For now it will be our number 1 whenever we visit!

Had an amazing vegan brunch here. The service was top notch and food so good. Definitely recommend even if you aren’t vegan. The Benedictine was so tasty and what isn’t to love about double mimosas. You might want to get there early if you’re counting on tasting the incredible king mushroom meal as we got the last one at 11:45.

We had a great time at Tendresse! The server was very helpful and the food was great! Beautifully presented dishes made with a unique combination of ingredients. One thing I don’t like about “healthy” restaurants is that they often overdo the salt and oil, but I am glad to say that was not the case here! The cocktail menu was also original and well thought out. I lined the personalized customer service such as getting a ginger lemon tea off the menu, or that the espresso which we forgot about and got cold was readily replaced free. Not pictured are the desserts, which were also yummy. Nb the high price per person was because we ordered two dishes per person plus one dessert per person + one drink +/- one coffee at the end. Downside was that it was really loud inside making it hard to hear and we had to talk really loud. I will definitely be back!!

Great food and ambiance. Definitely recommend this restaurant! Try the larger sampling platters.

Resto vegan offrant une cuisine de bistro recherché. Pour commencer jai gouté au capaccio de melon d'eau un incontournable de leur carte. Un mélange innovateur avec la sauce béarnaise et une texture soyeuse et croquante grace au petite chip. La fraîcheur du melon d'eau excellent choix l'été. J'ai aussi gouté au dumpling unique en leur genre une belle découverte. J'ai poursuivie avec le pavé un mille feuilles de pommes de terre. La cuissont est parfaite et le côté croquant une autres belle surprise. Le mélange est execellent que je conseil. Belle terasse le mélangedes couleurs m'amuse, c'est aussi un beau petit resto et un super service.

Amazing, coming from an carnivore! I left full and not feeling like I ate a bunch of lawn clippings. Further, to caramelize brussel sprouts properly and evenly is incredible but taking the sour dough focaccia through the humus tahini was the bomb. The soup of the moment was excellent as was the tacos, cauliflower and of course the well reviewed Pave. We also tried the burger and fries and would get that again too. Tendresse might make me a herbivore yet!

Visited Montreal for five days and it was the plan to visit a restaurant only once so we could experience as many as possible. We broke that rule for Tendresse. We stayed close by - only a five minute walk - and were angry that we discovered in the last 48 hours of the trip. We would have been there every night! Vegan cuisine is often times our favorite because of how special and creative the dishes are. Tendresse delivered in that way, for sure. The brussel sprouts are a must. As well as the cauliflower. The dumplings were exceptional, and honestly while there were a couple things we didn't get around to trying, I would vouch for anything on the menu. Everyone who worked there was very likable and incredibly pleasant. It makes a huge difference when the experience of dining out is rounded out with friendly staff. The place is also just so cute. Great music. Every single song. A well curated playlist! And the decor was just right. Nothing too pretentious. All around great spot! I can't wait to visit again.

I had no idea potatoes could as good as they do in the pavé at Tendresse. And the dessert (a little financier cake with apples) was also fantastic.

Super friendly service and amazing food and drinks. We ordered the cactus cocktail, king oyster "calamari," tomato sashimi, and the pavé. We finished with the chocolate dessert and an oat milk cortado. Everything was divine. I closed my eyes when eating to enjoy it all fully, even though it made me look like a snob (or just plain odd). Thank you for a wonderful lunch break!

I was skeptical at first about the carrot pancakes but they were the most sweet angelical pancakes that I've had in my life! The cocktails are well balanced and full of flavor and the dishes lovely presented and absolutely delicious! Plus they have all day brunch! I want to move at Tendresse, it's that good!

I ordered the mushroom gaufres which was pretty tasty. The dumplings were however average. Stuff were very friendly and the decor was very nice.

Good products but I miss their old menu with more generous portions especially their General Tao (it's a bit too light for the price) !

After our tour of Old Montreal, our Guide, Andre of Montreal Excursions, recommended we give Tendresse a try. So he made reservations that night for the tree of us, well actually four of us because he brought his beautiful rescued puppy. So yes, Tendresse is dog friendly when dinning outside! Andre said he had never been, but had heard good things so he wanted to give it a try. None of us were disappointed. We ordered the Calamari (actually mushrooms made like calamari), tacos, scalloped potatoes, and cauliflower dishes. The food was excellent, and the staff very friendly. Since we could not figure out what bottle of wine to start with, they even let us do a small impromptu wine tasting of 3 different open bottles. Never had a restaurant offer to do that before. They even kept a smile on their faces when Andre started smashing plates because the calamari was devoured in a hurry and was gone. Just kidding Andre, but everyone really needs to try the calamari. If I did not know it was a vegan restaurant, I would have thought the calamari was the real thing. We also had chocolate cake dessert paired with the Madeira (similar to a Porto) which were both delicious and paired so nicely together.

Went to this place the other night and had a perfect meal. The staff were attentive and the service was quick. The ambience was very relaxed. I had the waffle followed by the financier. Great for any vegan looking for a higher end meal with fair prices.

I'd choose this restaurant as my dying meal 100%. Last night as been our fourth time going, and we always leave super satisfied. The food is always amazing, the music is great and we love the employees who are always super sweet !! A favorite by far.

Really enjoyed this place. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We ordered a few appetizers and poutine. Tacos were really tasty. Vegan mozzarella in caprese was really good. I tried poutine because as a vegan it was my chance to try this local speciality. I can't say it's something I'd get again. Nothing wrong with it. I think I may just like my fries naked. We also had a mascarpone dessert and while it was ok I would try something else next time. My carrot cocktail was good. Overall I hope to return when in Montreal again.

The food is really good! It is flavorful, nice portions and all vegan. The packaging is 100% compostable if you order out. I would recommend to anyone! (:

It's Pride weekend in Montreal and last night, I went to a vegan restaurant called Tendresse (means tenderness) in the village. Had a wonderful gazpacho and vegan risotto with grilled asparagus and baby carrots as well as wonderful fresh herbs. Look it up, its tiny but way worth it.

Mmmm. Not that impressed with the food here. The vodka cocktail was not bad, pretty spicy. The food was mostly bland, incomparable to Planta queen in Toronto (amazing vegan resto). The furniture also looks like some sort of ikea collection. The burger was decent, the brocolli too, everything else we ordered was very very average. Seems like they rely on deep frying the absolute crap out of things for flavour.. isn't vegan food supposedly more healthy?

I really love this place! Good food, amazing wine, friendly staff, and beautiful atmosphere!!! Definitely recommend

The food was not very good....and the service really sucked!! Not worth the money i spent.

Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere and great little spot in the village!! Walking in I overheard two others exiting the restaurant and they said the carrot cake pancakes and savoury waffle were phenomenal; had the carrot pancakes and they were right! Thanks again for a wonderful meal and hope to be back soon!!
