Really enjoyed our meal at this one star Michelin. It is classy, intimate, perfect for couples and yet the staff make for a relaxed experience.
FOOD
The food was visually very pleasing but at times didn’t taste as good as it looked. The amuse bouche and pre-amuse bouche came plentiful which was cool. We then thought the red tuna tataki starter was the standout dish as well as the oregano brioche. I was a little disappointed in the octopus starter which lacked some flavour as well as the dorade in main. Still very tasty but not Michelin wow. Deserts were stunning. I think 3-course meal is plenty of food and offers good value at €75 each.
SERVICE/STAFF
Very friendly staff who can be chatty with their customers given there is only about 10 tables. One waitress was slightly clumsy, dropping a brioche and cutlery over the 3h we were there. However, this was joked over and dealt with professionally. All staff speak very good English, especially their head waiter who has worked in many famous Michelin restaurants.
ATMOSPHERE/LOCATION
Small and yet spacious, comfortable large tables with nice art on the walls. It feels like fine dining and yet the staff put the customers at ease. You will find the older retired couple dressed in suits but also the younger generation in a cool shorts and polo. It’s also romantic and a good spot for couples. Located just off the main canal in Sete, the location is very central and just off the parking du Canal.
CONCLUSION: we really enjoyed and would come back despite small things that can be improved on.
