A very charming and cozy French restaurant in Delft, offering excellent cuisine with beautifully crafted tasting dishes paired with wonderful wines. The flavors were exceptional, each course thoughtfully prepared to create a memorable experience. Even with the adjustments due to Covid-19, the extra outdoor terrace made dining there on warm evenings absolutely delightful. We especially appreciated the care taken in preparing the tasting menus for our wedding anniversary, which made the evening truly special. The combination of the welcoming atmosphere, attentive service, and outstanding food makes this restaurant a real gem.

We had a celebration dinner for 2 at Le Vieux Jean, which has been recommended by many people and we had a lovely dinner. Our dinner was during their 50th year celebration so we went for their special 3 course LVJ menu. We were served a cold salad soup with herb panna cotta and we had a beef bourguignon as a roulade with red wine mayonaise and pickled vegetables. These appetizers were all inventive and classic at the same time, really flavorful. Our mains were piglet (stewed pork cheek and roasted pork back) with potato pave and mousse. Served with its own jus. The meat was really well made although potatoes almost stole the show. But our favorite from the whole meal was the brill, though. It was one of the tastiest I've had in the Netherlands! For dessert we could try their pavlova, and baba au rhum. Both well balanced, and just as they should be. Their cheese board is another good option with a good variety of cheese and crackers. Apart from such a delicious meal, what sets LVJ apart from many restaurants is their 16 page long wine menu. For any Burgundy lover like me, this is highly appreciated. Their menu includes many well known domains and some rare vintages you can choose to pair with your dishes. We were really happy with our service too, although it was packed full (on a Wednesday evening!) our food arrived fast and the staff is cheerful and kind. The atmosphere inside is also cozy and warm, it's the perfect place for a special night out, be it a date, family gathering or a dinner with friends. Highly recommend it, and we can't wait to go back.

Very nice and cosy French restaurant in Delft. Excellent cooking and tasting dishes accompanied with very nice wines. Now with Covid19 they had an extra terrace outside which was lovely with the warm evenings. Thanks for preparing these tasting menus on our wedding anniversary.

Beautiful place, great food and service. Wine too expensive compared with the rest and it was like 100cl for 10€. The rest were perfect.

It was a real disappointment... The food was tasteless. The fish was raw inside and the sauce too acidic. There was an amuse-bouche that totally bland and dry. Just a couple dishes were ok. The service was fine, but a little pretentious. I really don't get the others reviews 🤔

Best place to eat. Perfect wine pairing with excellent food. Beautiful inside adds to great atmosphere. Definatelly will go back. As good as two Michelin star restaurants. Arrived at 6 pm left at 23.00 pm. What an great experience.

The food was delicious, but it were small portions. Service was excellent. The atmosphere was mediocre to my taste. We were sitting on the first floor in a small room. In the beginning there was only one other table and you really had to whisper to not be rude. At the end of the evening we almost couldn't hear each other because of all the conversations at other tables.

Fabulous. If you want excellent French food come here. I could see the kitchen from where I sat and enjoying watching the preparation of our food. Simple and fine food with great value. Great service as well. We shared a whole lobster which was cut and cleans well. It had so much meat. Also had 3-course menu (bruschetta with shrimp, haddock, custard with fruits), and sea bass. Food was well presented. So pretty. Great ingredients. Highly recommend this place.
