great, cozy ambience with attention to detail. very attentive and friendly service. a large selection of drinks. The menu is not to big, but it is difficult to decide because everything sounds delicious. i am so happy that i came here. Everything I have tried I would order again.

Interesting place. I like small dedicated menus. Starters was quite tasty and interesting. Especially carpaccio. Service is good. Little pricy for the countryside and small town like Dudeldorf. Ratings are below (1 - worse, 5 - the best): The overall food is good - 4/5. Service is good - 4/5. Atmosphere is nice - 4/5. Prices of food and drinks are high - 4/5. Overall - good experience.

Truly phenomenal. Ambiance was upscale but comfortable. The food was far beyond expectation. A truly hidden gem.

Deliciousness! First, wonderful bread with little selection of tasty spreads. Nicely dressed side salad...loved the green beans! Rolled schnitzel stuffed with mushrooms and veg, topped with creamy rich gravy! So good theres no room for dessert!

Josef’s place has been our favorite in all of Germany since 2002. He is a jewel, and the food is extraordinary.

The food was fantastic, great atmosphere. We were offered a seat at the bar, most of the time for me that would not be desirable but we really wanted to try this restaurant. The bar was perfect. We made a second reservation before leaving and requested to sit at the bar again. The staff were very friendly and we would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Delicious! A great place for a special meal. My husband adores their apple dumplings and vanilla sauce. I love their pork with goat cheese and pear. And their duet of mousses made me slow down and savor each bite.

Good quality, great service, nice atmosphere. Two remarks: 1. the seats are a bit uncomfortable and you feel a bit cramped ; 2. the prices are a bit too high in my opinion which makes it difficult to visit often and on a regular basis. It’s a shame because it’s a lovely restaurant but still overpriced.

Had an amazing meal here! One of the best places to eat in this area. I took the waiters suggestion and ordered the pork cutlet with the plum sauce. It was perfectly cooked and I enjoyed every bite of it!

What a beautiful decor , you can eat inside or outside. We just arrived in country and my husbands colleague made reservation for us to meet everyone in his office. Great food, very good service. They were very nice to our children that were looking for hamburgers ( they do not have hamburgers). The server made suggestions to them and they ate all of it! They had a "sampler" for soups and deserts, what a great way to try new food. With so many people at the table everyone ordered something different and it all looked wonderful. The menu is in German, the server read it to us (a little embarrassing for us) I will have to lean German fast, she spoke very good English. What a lovely place. I will be back often!

Fantastic food from a staff passionate about what they serve. English speaking and helpful with food reminiscent of home cooked fare taken to the next level with excellent presentation. Affordable with a nice quiet atmosphere.

We went to Torschanke for our 11th Anniversary. One of my German co-workers made the reservation for us. The restaurant is decorated impeccably and updated seasonally. There are two dining areas upstairs and downstairs. Our waiter was really nice. He spoke great English and we talked about the States. The owner adds nice touches to the dining experience. We had a "shot" of cold soup...I think pumpkin and it was delicious. For dinner we had the venison stew and the mushroom ravioli. Wow, both very good! We also had an apple strudel dessert and creme brulee. Yummy!! Our waiter also served us an after dinner drink (pear Schnapps) that was complimentry. Overall, a fantastice dining experience. We'll go back for our 12th and 13th Anniversary.

Fantastic seasonal fare from a stellar cook. That, combined with the atmostphere, make for a lovely meal. Be sure to make reservations and do your best to speak German - it's greatly appreciated (although not exactly needed).

Only 20 min driving from my place, this restaurant is my favorite. The food is excellent, the portions generous and the atmosphere typical German country style. At a different place the food that is served would pass as stellar cuisine, nevertheless, the prices are moderate. The owner is very knowledgeable about wine and speaks decent English.
