Watergang

"This lovely little restaurant with space for just 30 guests boasts a genuine warmth and intimacy. The chefs here create a surprise five-course menu that changes each month and is particularly inspired by French and Italian cuisine. The classic comfort food on offer here, featuring the occasional original twist, is highly satisfying!" - Michelin Inspector

Booked this place for an anniversary dinner. Found this restaurant on the Michelin website and was very impressed overall. Menu is a secret menu and we didn’t know what we would get until the dish came. We had 6 course overall including desert. Oysters were also offered at the beginning of the meal. All dishes were delicious but the standout was an oyster mousse/ice cream dish. Drinks were also great, we ordered some wine and cocktails. Service was wonderful and friendly, with an explanation for each dish. The restaurant is small but cosy and located in a beautiful part of the city. The price is also great value. I would travel back to Amsterdam just to eat at this restaurant

Indulgent set lunch menu. Exceptional presentation and some very tasty and creative food. Service was a bit formal. We sat upstairs with a view of everyone which was fun for people watching but a little isolated. My rating is probably too harsh but it’s my personal experience and I’m not a foodie. Foodies would love this place. Appetizer was exceptional, brioche pretty good and dessert super interesting and memorable cherries five ways. The other dishes were good but I kind of forgot about them compared to the others.

Glad to have found this restaurant because we had an amazing lunch here! A Michelin-recommended restaurant that has some charm to it. We hope to eat here again. Pros: Affordable set menus, delicious and unique food, 4-set menu was refreshing for the summer season, staff were kind and friendly, clean and beautiful interior Cons: Presentation can be improved (had unnecessary splashes on my dessert plate), service was good but hoped it was more serious (1 lady service was a tad laughing while explaining the food), a bit small inside so can get noisy if it's packed

Tucked away in a green potted street, you could almost miss their door amidst the greenery. Inside it is simple, unassuming, focused on the meal and wine pairings. They source wine globally. During this visit, I tried a fresh white blend from Romania and paired main course (duck, medium rare, wild game - absolutely delicious!) with a red south of France blend. What stood out were the sauces and the opening soup. I would dine here again (prefix meal for lunch was ~$60 with wine ~$80/person).

They serve only menus. Lunches from Friday-Sunday. Cosy, small, great tastes, wonderful location. Our meals arrived veeery slow, we were lucky just to talk and had no rush, otherwise it would upset us a lot.

I went there for my birthday and the food is impeccable especially the vegetarian menu. I do not remember the name of the dish shown in the first picture but I was told by my company that the meat was a bit chewy. The ravioli was superb, I loved how they used chive and did it to perfection. The service was also good, our table was managed by a new waiter but he was very polite and knew the menu well. Try to reserve well in advance to get a table near the window.

Delicious food and dainty presentation. Lady manager was friendly with attentive service. It's a small restaurant which you have to reserve a table. Date visited: September 2025
