Might have been my favorite restaurant in Zermatt.
Have to be careful about getting there, since you ski to a fork in the road then when you arrive in the old hamlet with a cluster of wooden huts, take your skis off and walk to the restaurant.
The setting is incredible. It is in the midst of the hamlet which is worth seeing alone. Little paths between buildings, the architecture is so Swiss !!
Of course it was packed, but we squeezed into the restaurant that was busy and the waitstaff very busy. The food was wonderful. I spoke with the chef who was outside taking a break. On a table was an entire table of freshly made Napoleon. It was so light and delicious.
In the summer, it'd be a great reward if you hiked up from the valley for a meal. Yet, the stout Swiss were hiking all over the valley, up and down, with and without skis.
Loved it.
