acebuche

"Located in the part of town most popular with tourists, this restaurant is a leading name in Zafra’s culinary heritage. Now completely renovated, it has taken on a new lease of life in the hands of the couple running it. Carmen and Javo, who met at the one-Michelin-star El Invernadero in Madrid, decided to head off on their own and, in so doing, transformed the cuisine on offer here, skilfully combining the cooking of Extremadura with that of Argentina in a nod to their respective origins. Only one concise menu is available, although medias raciones are also an option." - Michelin Inspector

Fantastic experience at our table of four. Iberian Bellota Jamón, Cod Dorada, Canelones of Pulpo, Prawn Tartar Ensaladilla and Iberian Presa steak were our share dishes. Plus an Orange yolk tocino and plums and cream for dessert. Lovely all around.

Just such an amazing restaurant. Super friendly staff and excellent food. Loved it so much we drove back from south coast to have a second experience. ❤️

Creative, resourceful, and delicious dishes to share, with an inventive Extremaduran touch. Very well done!

I had an amazing meal in this lovely restaurant! I'm so glad they were open, since I was the only customer. The friendly waitress negotiated an appropriate size meal for one person, half the tomato salad and a full pasta dish, the malfatti, and the combination was perfect, complimentary yet different textures and flavors, and I ended with a moderate dessert, the orange tocinillo. Perfect!! Thank you for a wonderful gourmet and cultural experience in Zafra.

Excellent food, very good service, and just generally a lovely quiet restaurant.

Fabulous meal right next to the Parador where we were staying. We had the taster menu so every course (of which there were 6 or 7 - we lost count !) was a wonderful surprise for our taste buds. Excellent service and wine recommendation from the waitress/owner ? Sorry for them that we were the only diners in there that night but they said it was normal for them in September at this time of year. So if you are visiting Zafra this is a must visit restaurant and don’t worry the cost is nowhere near a Michelin star restaurant in the UK.

Acebuche was a wonderful experience. The chef and front of the house work seamlessly. The offerings are varied and everything we tasted was exquisitely prepared and served..Truly delicious.

Fantastic! The service was impeccable and the food was amazing (the oxtail stew and trio of chocolates at the end were particularly good). The waiters were very patient with our Spanish and took the time to explain where various cuts of meat came from. It’s ideally placed for the Parador and other hotels near the Plaza. We will definitely eat here again.

Yelp
My favorite place in town. The food is great and inexpensive and for 2.50 you can get a big bottle of Damm's Inedit to share between two diners. Best patatas bravas in town and also I love the berenjena (eggplant) tapa. Great for breakfast and dinner; the kitchen, like most of the kitchens in Zafra, opens at 9.
