"A restaurant with a classic-contemporary feel, situated next to the Hotel Abando with Bilbao’s Palacio de Justicia on the opposite side of the street. Here, the chef and his team conjure up traditional Basque cuisine with a focus on seasonal ingredients and dishes showcased on an à la carte and a tasting menu. Highlights include daily specials and delicious signature stews, with a different stew featuring every day (these are referred to as “La Cuchara de Aitor”)." - Michelin Inspector

Very disappointing, without a having to think our worst meal in Bilbao. Crab salad with pieces of shell in it, very salty chef spoon, my half a portion of fish was only bones I do not think I got even 50gr of meat. The servers did not care asked way we did not have the spoon and did nothing saw the crab shells and did nothing. The chef walked talking to all tables however not ours. Yes we were speaking English. Simply an expensive catastrophe

I would rate this restaurant a 3.5 star ⭐️ Firstly, we arrived and sat down, it took a while for them to take the drink order which is someone you’d expect to be much quicker in a place like this. Next the food. It was ok, nothing to rave about. The Txangurro was nice, however the menu says INDIVIDUAL but it’s big enough to share easily between 2-3 people. The positive side was they allowed us to enter with the dogs. This was a nice gesture and we really appreciate it. Prices are expensive, we ordered 4 starters, 3 mains and 2 desserts, 230€. I wouldn’t go back but I would recommend you try it. Thanks 👍🏻

Our most disappointing meal in Bilbao. It is hard to understand how this restaurant has a Michelin star. We had the tasting menu at lunch on 4 July 2025. The red tuna had so much fascia that it was tough. The Egg on truffled potatoes was pretty bland. The lobster was sparse and overcooked. The chef's "Spoon" was so salty it was inedible. Our favorite course was the cheesecake. The service was not attentive and the bread service mediocre.

A must visit restaurant in Bilbao! My husband and I had a sampler dinner experience, and saying it was wonderful is an understatement. The food was paired with incredible local wine, which showed in-depth elevated traditional flavors of the Basque country. The service is so warm and wise; the chef came to our table to have a great chat about his passion for food, the region, and even travel recommendations. If you visit Bilbao, please visit this place! You will try real and authentic flavors that you can't get somewhere else ❤️👌 they make you feel at home, so different than other pretentious restaurants.

The Hake in Green Sauce with Clams was disappointing. You can taste raw flour in the roux, absolutely no depth of flavor, absolutely no seasoning and no salt whatsoever.

Nice restaurant, attached to the hotel. The food was nice, I ordered an oxtail for 26 euros. Vegetarian options are very few (like 1 or 2). Bread is offered - tasty one, but it will be included in your bill (the same for water)
