Al Aljibe - Review - Alameda de Hércules - Seville - The Infatuation

"Since there are so many incredible restaurants in the trendy Alameda, literally side-by-side, it’s easy to fall victim to dining-decision fatigue. Spare yourself from stress and head to Al Aljibe. They’re adding drizzles, dollops, and tweezer-applied flourishes to their salmorejo, rices, and seafood salpicón with octopus. Thick shrimp burgers are amped up with a kick of aioli, and their crispy potato wedges far surpass the usual tapas bar fries. Iberian pork is Spain’s love language, so the juicy marinated solomillo is an essential order. Streetside seating is prime real estate in this busy section, so if you see a table, grab it quickly. On hot days, take a seat in the rustic, vine-covered patio, once the old cistern of the traditional Moorish-style building with arches and mosaic tiles." - Aileen Weintraub

We discovered this place thanks to the suggestion of our friends. This is the best place in Seville without any doubt! We highly recommend the “Solomillo marinato”. You have to come here to eat amazing food! People are really friendly and we came here two nights in a row! Great place!

Located in the heart of Alameda, Al Aljibe boasts an inviting atmosphere with a stylish interior and a lovely terrace that makes it an ideal spot for both casual dining and special occasions. The ambiance is modern yet cozy, with a comfortable layout that allows for relaxed conversation and a pleasant dining experience. The service was a standout — attentive, friendly, and efficient without being intrusive. Staff members made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and maintained a good pace throughout the meal. The menu features a selection of contemporary Andalusian dishes. Prices are not cheap, but they’re reasonable given the setting and presentation. We started with salmorejo, which was creamy and well-balanced, followed by croquetas that were crispy on the outside and satisfyingly soft inside. The carrillada (braised pork cheeks) was the highlight — tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The chicken fingers were a safe and well-executed option, likely to please less adventurous diners or children. Unfortunately, the ensaladilla left much to be desired. Though it was supposed to include salmon, neither the taste nor appearance suggested it was there. The dish came off as bland and underwhelming compared to the others. Overall, Al Aljibe delivers a solid dining experience with quality service and a stylish setting. While most of the food was enjoyable, the ensaladilla felt like a miss. Still, it’s a great place to enjoy a meal in Alameda — especially on the terrace during warm evenings.

A bit perplexed... based on the reviews expected a lot more. We did love the rocket risotto though. The rest, like chicken tacos and salad with burrata were not great. The leaves were sour and the dressing didn't go with with the burrata. Service was too fast. We were in and out in 45 mins for dinner. Got the sense that nothing was cooked fresh, just reheated.

Rooftop view was really nice. The food was hot and flavourful. We also tried the orange wine but it had quite a strong sweet taste, this is a personal taste issue. Ceviche was a favourite. Overall, would highly recommend!!

the ceviche was so good we had to come back twice!!! highly recommend as a must get, portion is not that big but well worth the price because it is soooo good. we also got the wok chicken, arugula risotto, calamari brioche and crema catalana. they were all tasty, but the risotto and crema catalana were definitely suited for a lighter palette (:

everything we ordered was amazing 🥹 we had the potato salad, shrimp burger (our favorite), brioche squid burger (also a favorite), croquettas, and risotto. price was good too and easily beats other more expensive places we tried. highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️ drinks - the dry red wine was good. Tried the vino de naranja but was too sweet and medicine-like for us.
