Aredna - Review - Malasaña - Madrid - The Infatuation

"Aredna evokes the charm of a Beirut cafe, setting the scene with terracotta walls, wooden tables, dried floral arrangements, and clay pots everywhere. But it’s the generous use of spices and aromatic flavors that’ll keep you coming back again and again, like a fresh tomato soaked in sumac and garlic or the pastry filled with tender spiced veal topped with spearmint and pomegranate. Zero in on the classics, each of which comes with a house twist, like turmeric hummus, or carrots cooked in hazelnut butter, topped with spicy honey and bergamot vinaigrette. And don’t skip dessert—you’ll find traditional Spanish sweets with a Lebanese spin, like milhojas with pistachio and rose." - Lori Zaino

Incredibly delicious Lebanese food here with even some twists on Spanish classics. The beef over hummus and the patatas bravas were both fantastic

What a breath of fresh air! Lebanese with a twist in a cozy environment. The food was top notch and the service extremely attentive and friendly. The decor makes the space feel real cozy. We let the chef suggest our meal and what a treat it was! Opening with the pink tomatoes with garlic and sumak and hummus with chistorra and piparras we knew we were onto a winner! Next round was aubergines with lebne (to die for) and Kafta with the typical Lebanese bread. Closing with a bang come out a piece of chicken so perfectly seasoned, juicy and tasty and a portion of beef crispy pastel full of flavour and spices you couldn’t help but see the care and attention in combining all flavours. The chef himself came out to check in on us which I thought was a really beautiful touch. All in all this place deserves a 10/10! Well done guys, you have a new regular in me!

It’s like saying , I want to be but I really can’t! Average food in a great setting and good service. The falafel were just wrong! Made probably with chick peas out of a can instead of raw soaked, in short quite bad. The eggplant and fattoush were the only good dishes. The Arayes were far off, bread oily and soft with hardly any filling, extremely poor version of arayes. The lamb was a reflection of my first sentence, I want but I can’t, and of course forget about the millefeuille an insult to milfeuille, looks good tastes super average not crispy at all and very bland filling. My advise, get your act together, good plating will not do it!!

The place is nice and the food is good. The service was very good. I didn't find real Lebanese food but rather Middle Eastern food, and in the deserts section, I was missing the Beiruth nights typical desert. We had mainly starters and only one main dish.

My boyfriend and I have loved the Spanish food here but we needed a break 😅He loooves Lebanese food and is hard to impress but this restaurant blew him (and me) away. Each dish is so perfectly flavored. I wish I could have tried everything on the menu truly but we got the hummus with sirloin, areyas (MUSY TRY), suckling lamb, cauliflower, roasted egg plant, and the fatoush salad. 11/10!!!
