"By adhering to the motto “Sentir Jaén” (Feel Jaén), clearly visible in the diminutive kitchen, this culinary jewel located next to the San Ildefonso basilica continues to realise its dream, in so doing become a must for experienced foodies. Despite its compact size, this restaurant, which takes its name from the blossom of the olive tree, boasts impressive designer detail in its decor and reflects chef Pedro Sánchez’s passion for seasonal local ingredients. This is showcased on a single tasting menu that clearly demonstrates his immense creative talent and a desire to promote the gastronomic bounty of his local area. His dishes are generally understated and feature few ingredients, as seen in his consommé of “carrueco” (a locally grown pumpkin), the exquisite “quisquilla” shrimp from Motril with a partridge escabeche, and a surf ‘n turf dish that will linger long in the memory. For dessert, the Coconut/Almond/Pineapple/Basil option is a fitting end to your meal. Given Bagá’s size, it is really essential to book ahead." - Michelin Inspector

This a clear example where extremely high expectations kinda messed up my experience. One of the most praised new restaurants in Spain and don’t get me wrong, is very good, but I think I was expecting a hit more. The place is super small, just three tables + two seats at the bar. They make you feel at home, lovely people. The food was good. My highlights were the ajoblanco, the pine nuts with caviar and a special note to the mushrooms with the sort of fish mayonnaise (unbelievable). A lowlight, the wine list. Way too short.

Sentir Jaén Amazing, still processing. 8 seats and you feel like you are having dinner at your best friends. The sommelier opened the world of sherry to us

Bagá worths the trip. Even more, it is a trip itself. Less is more as a principle, surprising technics and unbelievable flavours. Such a personal cuisine and the ambiance created around this tiny restaurant, the selected wine list and the cozy service makes the difference. Try to book at the counter for an unbeatable experience.

I went a few days ago with my dad to celebrate our christmas dinner. Both, we have been following Baga's chef career since he started with this Baga project and it was our first visit. We were not dissapointed at all. The space with a very personal mix between a small french bistro and a japanese izhakaya. Very small and intimate perfect to enjoy the personal chef proposal. A very technical and artistic way to interpretate food and cooking without stridences. Simple but very ellaborated and original at the same time. Excellent atmosphere and warm service with an extense wine selection. An open-minded proposal not to be missed if you are in town.

Michelin star restaurant with a great tasting menu with so much work put after it. It’s very cool to sit at the bar, you get to see them in action as they plate pretty much everything in front of your eyes. Bagá is a very tiny project with a big heart after every little step. They have a small but very good selection of natural wine is that is important for you. The staff is super friendly but extremely professional at the same time. It’s a must if you happen to be around Jaén.

Superb experience! Probably some of the best food you can have in Andalusia. Greatly recommended!

A terrific culinary experience! The delicate blend of flavours, scents, feelings and colours are a real feast for the senses. The whole menu can be adapted to the needs of people with allergies and intolerances. And of course with all anti-covid preventive mesures necessary to guarantee the clients’ safety. I totally recommend it!

We loved the chef’s cooking at Casa Antonio and were very excited to go to Baga knowing that it had recently received a revered Michelin star. But how disappointed we were. There’s a real sense here that the chef needs to be reigned in - some dishes were really excellent, some borderline inedible. And I question, who has the patience for a 17 course taster menu, even at the weekend? The strap line is ‘Sentir Jaen ’ - why on earth is he cooking poulet Bresse (like rubber incidentally) and serving Alsatian wine? Have some confidence in your area and its products. The less said about the service, the better - they only had ten covers when we went but failed to be at all attentive. It didn’t break the bank, all considered, but we had so much hope for a great experience. He did tell us that his local audience were the guinea pigs. I wonder whether this is a little navel gazing when you reach the premier league......
