"A trip to Bar Montejo is all about eating copious amounts of cochinita pibil in numerous forms, like tacos, panuchos, and tortas. They specialize in Yucatecan dishes, and everything on the menu is a win, but we always go for the $6 torta de cochinita pibil. This cantina has an extensive drinks menu since letting loose and enjoying a long sobremesa is all part of the experience. Order multiple rounds of Modelos and tequila, and before you know it, time will kind of stand still." - Guillaume Guevara

Bottom level was loud but we had a nice table on the second floor. Service was friendly and very timely. Food was good. Prices reasonable for the level of service and quality of food. Margarita was too sweet. Beer was served cold with frozen glass 5/5. Would come again.

My husband got the chicken mole and it was was excellent! Spicy and flavorful. Delicious! I got a 3 taco plate (Yucatan style). This included a dogfish, pork, and turkey tacos. The dogfish was in a tomato stew. Pork was juicy and flavorful. Turkey taco was a little dry. We ate at some tables outside. Nice ambiance and good service. Red salsa was spicy and awesome. They also had a red onion and habanero topping that was really good.

Great experience at this Restaurant Bar Montego in México City. Environment is good, service is customer focused and meals are really good. Cuisine is Mexican style and very tasty. Drinks are OK. It is a good spot to have drink and meals along with good company. It is in an area which is very well communicated but at the same time with a lot of traffic at times. It has vet parking service (with additional cost). Overall experience very good.

Awesome place for eating and drinking with friends. Their Torta de Cochinita Pibil is bloody tasty! We ate two... classic cantina, music and good people.

A classic Cantina, good place to visit with friends, you can play cards or dominoes, the food is good, the drinks are well served, classic old school. The service is quick and efficient.

The food was ok for us. We went with a big party. The waiter didn’t want to give us menu. He tried to sell any food he wanted. However, some of us don’t speak Spanish. After several times requests, the waiter brought us 1 English menu. The most annoying event was the waiter didn’t give us change. On the receipt or menu was not said that service fee added to bill so tip should be optional and based on the service. The waiter automatically took $500 pesos as tip without our approval. It’s unacceptable. We were not happy with that. We would tip but not this way. Taking money without permission

Yucatecan food is one of my top two favorite cuisines. Food here was actually kind of bland. Service was mostly efficient but cold and impersonal and we had to remind the waiters of stuff ordered but not delivered. I wouldn't pick to come here in the future. That's not to say I wouldn't go, just that there are better yucatecan food places.

Yelp
Excellent service. Mole is great, tender meat and full flavors. Several at our table ordered it and loved it. My friend ordered the flank steak and raved about it. I had the plate of tacos, including cochinita and dogfish. I probably should have gone with the mole; it was better than the tacos in my opinion. We got a table outside on the sidewalk in the evening, had a few beers and drinks with our food, and enjoyed a nice dining experience. ETA: I just noticed this place is categorized as a "dive bar." Mexicans must be classier than Americans, because this place was not dive-y to me at all. It was a nice, clean establishment with well-dressed servers, without the darkness, grunge, and shadiness usually associated with dive bars. Of course I went for dinner, and wasn't there during nighttime drinking hours so who's to say? Maybe this place gets crazy at night!

Yelp
Muy buenos tacos de cochinita. El piso de abajo es cantina y arriba es restaurante. Precios razonables.

Yelp
Traditional food from Yucatan. The place is a Cantina, so the crowd is there for drinking, eating and playing table games.... the food is really good. Amazing Panuchos of Cochinita Pibil and Cazon fish. Torta de cochinita is a most. I do think they have to improve the habanero Salsa.
