"This family-run restaurant is always full despite its location in a part of town most people generally pass through without stopping. Its facilities include a bar, which leads to several pleasantly arranged dining rooms, a large marquee-style space for private functions, plus a huge garden patio for outdoor gatherings. The high-quality and varied cuisine on offer here is typical of the Minho, featuring fish and seafood from its own live tank, with a predilection for lamprey, plus an extensive selection of meat dishes and even a vegetarian menu. Had an amazing dining experience at Camelo! The restaurant offers a super comfortable and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for medium-sized groups. The service was fast and the staff exceptionally friendly—from the moment we arrived until the last dessert, every dish was crafted with care and high quality. We tried the “Posta,” an incredible piece of meat bursting with extravagant flavors that left us wanting more. Follow the staff’s recommendations and you’re sure to have a memorable meal. Highly recommended!

Amazing restaurant…I had the Rojoes and it’s the best I’ve had in my 4 years living in Portugal. Furthermore, the staff was super accommodating and really nice, they offered me to try the Papas Sarrabulho. Many thanks to the staff and see you soon again, as I need to try more from the menu. This is one of the most iconic restaurants in Viana do Castelo where you'll find the most traditional foods made with the best ingredients. Price is a bit steep comparing it with other restaurants in the area. But in my opinion, it will be worth every penny for the food alone and also the friendliness of the staff.

Disappointment!! The beer was not cold and 1 bottle of water 4€.... We haven't finished sitting at the table and 5 waiters come with plates in their hands and put some dishes in my face and i had to say yes to avoid looking bad...on top of that they looked surprised when Doubt it...well, the grace is 25€ nonexpected plus than what comes later.

One of the best place in Viana do Castelo. The best Bull steak what you can find in Portugal and of course a lot of fresh fish made on a really good way. Highly recommend place, but reserve in advance 😉...

Always look forward to this place whenever we are in town ... Food is fresh and good selection ... Last Sunday my mother placed €100 euros on the table contributing toward paying bill ... I did not realize this and as we walked toward car she commented ... I told her I had not picked up the money ... She quickly went back and table was clear .. no one honed up to finding money ... Food is good ... Watch your stuff ...
